after my bike ride today loaded the bike and started driving home and started feeling sick, puller over and laid down for a while but chest and left arm pain was starting.

Managed to get a hold of one of the other riders and asked if he could take my bike because I had to go to hospital.

Was able to drive myself to emergency, they could not do the surgery because they had someone else with same issue but but more serious, so I got a helicopter ride to another hospital.

Hopefully I get out tomorrow, I have been carnivore for 9 months, I am 61 years old and overall in good health, so I thought

It can be. I use fat, meat salt and water as my daily prescriptions. Only 14 months deep but it has been working for me. Best of luck going forward. Scott

My cardiologist took me off of Metropolol after three months on carnivore and took my off of Flecinide after one year as a carnivore. He has never once mentioned a statin to me. It’s my PCP that keeps

Will you go back on a statin?

I've never been on a statin. And I don't plan on being on one, at least not yet.

I am not necessarily opposed to a low-dose statin, ala Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Ford Brewer, both of whom I do trust.

But given my kidney issues, I am very timid about taking any sort of drug ever again, and I have read articles that spoke about the negative effects of statins on kidneys.

Funny thing is @Geezy @Bob @Scott F. I didn't EVER follow the pyramid, healthy eating, veg. oil or cholesterol kills mentallity.

I was eating whatever I felt, didn't worry because I was "INVINCIBLE" or so I thought.

Drinking booze, doin things I shouldn't be doin and eating convenience because convenience was good.😆

Same here. The Food Pyramid would probably have been a better option for me than my carefree, eat anything I want, SAD diet.

Do you mean statin-type or drugs in general?

I am going to be leery of drugs in general. If the doc wants to prescribe something, I am going to research it well before it ever passes my lips.

I still take blood pressure medicine. For the last 5-6 years I have taken 100mg of Losartan Potassium (ARB) and 2.5mg of Nebivolol (Beta Blocker). Now since the fenofibrate debacle, my blood pressure has increased. I now average 155/105 and I am not happy about that. Hypertension isn't good for kidneys, and damaged kidneys cause hypertension. I am in a bit of a catch 22.

So, currently my strategy is to quadruple my beta blocker to 10mb of Nebivolol. Then in 2 weeks I am going to talk to my nephrologist about ditching Losartan in favor of Olmesartan. I will also listen to his suggestions.

I'm not anti-drug, per se. I'm just overly cautious now because of the fenofibrate that ruined all my progress I had been making - putting me in a worse spot than I was before I started carnivore.
