Welcome to our Carnivore / Ketovore / Keto Online Community!

Welcome to Carnivore Talk! An online community of people who have discovered the benefits of an carnviore-centric ketogenic diet with the goal of losing weight, optimizing their health, and supporting and encouraging one another. We warmly welcome you! [Read More]

January is World Carnivore Month. To that end, let's challenge ourselves to eat a carnivore diet for the entire month of January. The type of carnivore diet and the level of strictness you choose to do is entirely up to you. Examples of carnivore diets include the following...

1) The Lion Diet. A person eating the Lion Diet only consumes the flesh of ruminant animals, water, and salt.

2) The BBBE Diet. BBBE is an acronym for Beef, Butter, Bacon, and Eggs.

3) The Carnivore Diet. This allows for the consumption of any and all animals and animal by-products, including dairy.

In any of the above examples, the object of course is to not consume any plants as part of your diet. Of course, we're not going to micromanage how you prepare your food, so your use of seasonings is entirely your own personal choice.

IF your circumstances don't allow you to go full on carnivore in January, then you can participate in this topic by challenge yourself to do better, above and beyond what you have been doing. For example, if you have still been eating grains, seed oils, refined sugar, or drinking alcohol, challenge yourself to avoid these items and just eat a clean, single ingredient whole foods diet such as clean keto, ketovore, or animal based.

We encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk.

Participants in this topic will be entered into a drawing for a prize (valued at $100) at the end of the month.

Been on straight red meat since the beginning of December and it has mostly been versions of chuck meat.

I have been hitting the grocery store early on Monday morning and buying up all the red meat I can that has been reduced for quick sale.

My wife is not the biggest fan but it hasn't killed me. Saves a few dollars and keeps me on the 'red meat kick' which started around the first of December and will stretch til February.

I have labs schedule mid-Feb and I am sort of self-experimenting again/still dialing in.

I think that is Kerry Mann's cut of choice also. How do you usually prepare it?

Yesterday I had sausage patties and cheese around noon. And for dinner it was 4 lamb steaks (the kind with the t-shaped bone in them) which did not fill me up so I added a wrap with Egg Life Wraps, beef bologna, and pepper jack cheese.

Well, my brother, can you create a plan for me

Good evening /morning my family, I would like some suggestions, I have some shrimp, a catfish and some lobster meat, I am looking for a good different way to cook and season it, on the shrimp and fish.

TIA

AGAPE

Starting January 15th, nor hungry tis morning, so a coffee with butter. CGM is reporting a nice if i did a finger stick it be ~ 66 or so. U am fine BGL of 70ish. Oh, it just alarmed at 57. I am fine. I ty p ed somez no clue where it went. Ve well

Lol, it is Paul. Got hungry, ate a pack of pork chops cooked in bacon fat. CGM is now up to 75. I will take it. No big rise from eating the pork. Makes me think, what do the vegans think about the food guide now. No pun intended, but their world is rather upside down.

Here's a couple ideas.....

Shrimp and Bacon Skewers

Combine two of the most delicious proteins in this easy-to-make skewers recipe. The smoky flavor of bacon complements the sweetness of shrimp, making it a fantastic appetizer or main dish.

  • Ingredients: shrimp, bacon, salt, pepper, and your choice of seasoning.

  • Instructions:

    • Preheat your grill or oven to 400°F (200°C).

    • Wrap each shrimp in a slice of bacon, securing it with a skewer.

    • Season with salt and pepper, then grill for about 10 minutes, turning until bacon is crispy.

I will say you can probably add some cheese into that bacon and shrimp as well.

Shrimp and Beef Stir-Fry

This protein-packed dish combines the bold flavors of shrimp with tender beef. It’s a hearty meal that’s sure to satisfy your cravings while keeping you within your dietary guidelines.

  • Ingredients: shrimp, beef strips, butter, garlic, salt, and pepper.

  • Instructions:

    • In a hot skillet, melt butter and add beef strips, searing until browned.

    • Add shrimp and garlic, continuing to stir-fry until shrimp are pink.

    • Season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.

And then if you don't mind some herbs/plants...

Lemon Herb Shrimp

This light and zesty dish is perfect for a warm day. The lemon and herbs elevate the flavor of the shrimp, making it a refreshing option for lunch or dinner.

  • Ingredients: shrimp, olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, fresh herbs (like parsley or basil), salt, and pepper.

  • Instructions:

    • In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, and chopped herbs.

    • Add shrimp and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

    • Cook shrimp in a skillet over medium heat until they turn pink and slightly charred.

Garlic Butter Shrimp

This classic dish combines succulent shrimp with rich, flavorful garlic butter. Perfect for a quick dinner or an impressive appetizer, this recipe is both easy to prepare and incredibly satisfying.

  • Ingredients: shrimp, butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, lemon juice.

  • Instructions:

    • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

    • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

    • Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink.

    • Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

For fish, I usually oven bake pre-seasoning it generously with Old Bay Seasoning. I'll drizzle with lemon and/or I will use tartar sauce. If I can't make my own tartar sauce I will use a store bought option, which will contain seed oils - but this is one of the rare times I might use some so I am not personally bothered by it.

I imagine that they are either....

1) Vehemently angry, wanting to "peacefully protest" by smashing or breaking things. These are the mentally-diseased political snots. Or...

2) Understand the concept of "eat real food" and will simply find plant-based alternatives to their protein and "dairy".
