I'm gaining weight!
Geezy replied to Steven2023's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
My weight goes up and down all the time. Fluctuations are normal. If you’re doing nothing different than what got you where you are now then I wouldn’t be concerned. It should take care of itself. If it keeps going up then you may need to reevaluate what your doing but give it plenty of time to adjust. This isn’t a race. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

What Did You Eat Today?
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
Yes ma’am, you are correct. The main issue I had with pre shredded cheese is that it has cellulose or some other kind of fiber in it that I just don’t need. Yeah it a little bit more effort to hand shred my cheese but my health is worth it. I’m glad to see you are reading the ingredient labels. Those can be a real eye opener and show you how much crap the food industry has been feeding us just so they can make more profit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

Welcome drysideshooter. Delving into the history of nutrition and nutritional science in this country showed me just how much we’ve been lied too and manipulated due to ego and monetary agendas. Once I learned the truth it just gave me more confidence to know that carnivore was the proper human diet. Immerse yourself into this lifestyle and it can set you free. Another excellent book to read if you haven’t already is The Big Fat Surprise by Nina Teicholz. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do You Eat Meat and Meat Products Everyday?
Geezy replied to Nomad's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
I’m right there with you Sherry. I wish I’d have known and understood this way of eating a long time ago but if I had, would I have listened? Sometimes we’re just not ready for it yet. It took me to hit rock bottom before it was able to change my lifestyle. For your family all you can do is be a good example. Only keep whole foods in the house. No highly processed stuff. No sugar’s. No seeds or seed oils. You probably won’t stop them from eating bad foods when you’re not around but you may be able to start a foundation that they may grow from. You can control what they eat in the home so try to make it enjoyable for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

What Did You Eat Today?
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
It was just a whole roasted chicken from Wally World that I deboned and then I just drown it in butter. Three reasons I load it down with butter is that first, I need to make it palatable to me. Since becoming carnivore, chicken just isn’t that tasty to me. I used to love fried chicken and once I swore off anything breaded and fried I realized that the only thing I liked about chicken was that fried crispy flour on the outside. Second is that chicken doesn’t have a good omega 3 to omega 6 ratio (too much of the 6 and not enough 3) so I’m just trying to help balance it out better by adding some better animal fat to it. Lastly, it just tastes better with butter…doesn’t everything? In general, chicken is my last choice for protein. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

Half cup of shredded cheese mixed with one egg. That will generally make two chaffles. I use a mini waffle maker (10 bucks at Wally World) and put approximately two tablespoons of the cheesy egg mixture in the waffle iron to make one chaffle. Mozzarella is the most common cheese used and cheddar works well also but any cheese that melts well should work. I shred my own cheese because I will not use the packaged, pre-shredded cheeses because they all contain plant matter and that’s no bueno. I also use whole milk cheese and avoid anything made with skim milk. A touch of garlic powder is tasty in the mix if you can tolerate it in your diet. These are great with just butter on them or make a sandwich with them. As far as sharing recipes goes, there are some threads that have some recipes that I’ve contributed to, but I wish the administrators would creat a forum just for recipes so it would be easier to find them. Don’t sweat it Orweller, you’ll be fine. No if it helps you may want to eat at home before you go out and then you may be less likely to over indulge. But hey, even if you do go off the reservation it’s no big deal. Just go back to eating right the next day. One day is certainly not going to hurt you or set you back. At worst you may experience some inflammation or gastrointestinal issues and your weight may stall for a few days but if you jump right back into carnivore you shouldn’t have any problems. By this time next year you may be so solid in carnivore that it won’t even be an issue anymore. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

What Did You Eat Today?
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
We had a Christmas Eve dinner at my daughter’s today. Knowing how dedicated I am to eating carnivore she had plenty of food that I could eat. I didn’t take any pictures but my plate was loaded down with smoked brisket (which she learned how to cook from me) baked ham that was great, several different kinds of cheeses and sausage balls made with venison sausage and powdered pork rinds instead of bisquick. There were some deviled eggs but unfortunately they were made with Mayo that contained seed oils so that was a hard no. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

Do You Eat Meat and Meat Products Everyday?
Geezy replied to Nomad's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
Why would your doctor advise you against red meat? Medical reasons or just general health? Red meat is the most nutritious and bioavailable food humans can eat and unless you are allergic to it I just can’t fathom why you would not eat it. For me, chicken is at the very bottom of my protein choices. Since being carnivore I’ve just lost my taste for it. I have to drown it in butter to make it palatable. How cheap should education be?
Geezy replied to Henrywrites's topic in Everyday Chit Chat & Off-topic Discussion
Spot on Bob. This is the route I went and it was very lucrative. My son did the same. Most people I come across that graduated with a college degree don’t even work in the field they studied in. When I was working it used to really tick off the young college boys coming on the job that I made three times what they were making. We need more trade schools in my opinion. The skilled labor force is diminishing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

That sounds great Angela. I’m so proud of you. Stay with it and you’ll see some wonderful changes. You asked Bob about magnesium supplements and just thought I’d tell you what I take. I’ve switched from LMNT to Keto Chow’s Daily Minerals. Since my wife started following my lead and taking supplements, our supply won’t get us through the month so I needed to go a cheaper route. I also take a magnesium complex I get off of Amazon. Then on top of all that I take a magnesium citrate to loosen up my bowels. I hope that helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

As you know I make my own tallow and i use it almost daily. It’s ok to leave the tallow out at room temperature. It will keep just fine at room temp for months. I’ve read even a year but I don’t know if that’s unopened or used regularly. I also don’t refrigerate my butter because I use salted butter and that also keeps just fine, especially as fast as I go through it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,369 replies

Post a picture... Any picture
Geezy replied to Bob's topic in Everyday Chit Chat & Off-topic Discussion
It totally depends on the region and genetics. The deer in my area can range from 80 - 120lbs for a mature doe and from 110 - 150lbs for a mature buck. In some regions of Texas it’s less and in others it more. Deer up in the northern climes can easily get well over 200lbs. That particular doe was probably around 90-100lbs.
