Irregular heartbeat and palpitations
Geezy replied to Rodney's topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
Our Lord places us where He needs us when we are in need. What magnesium are you taking. I ask because there are so many different kinds of magnesium and some are not absorbable. Be very careful of the potassium. I was taking an electrolyte supplement and about six months into my carnivore journey I had a blood test and my potassium levels were into the danger zone. Bad enough for a normal person but more so for someone who has heart disease. Too much potassium can cause the heart to stop. Dairy is a very addictive substance for me as well. I try to moderate it as much as possible but sometimes it gets the better of me and I have to take a month off of it. I will be putting you on my prayer list. May God bless you. -

poll What is your favorite way to eat/prepare eggs?
Geezy replied to Bob's topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
I usually have some pickled quail eggs in the fridge. Great little snacks. -
Articles like this just tick me off. They don’t detail the study so there’s no way of knowing how it was conducted or what biases there may be and most of those “studies” are far from scientific. Then the article, like so many of them, puts out some positive information but turns right around and has to put out a caveat of lies. Gee, let’s not bother to actually show the real studies that show that cholesterol isn’t a factor in cardiovascular health and that meat is so nutritionally dense that we get all of the nutrients we need for proper health. None of us are guaranteed a certain amount of days Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. James 4:14 ESV So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12 ESV What’s important is that we fuel our bodies with the most nutritious food possible and refrain from eating anything that we shouldn’t so that we can obtain optimal heath and our bodies will take care of everything else. I have no idea if by eating carnivore that I will live longer, there may just be too much damage, but I do know how good I feel and I will enjoy what life I have left feeling good. Beats being miserable. When I started being a carnivore I was 66 years old and felt like I was 86 just waiting to die in misery. Today I’m 68 and feel like I’m 48 with a life and future ahead of me.

Buy a 1/4 or a 1/2 or a Full Beef???
Geezy replied to Mesa_John's topic in Everyday Chit Chat & Off-topic Discussion
I don’t think that’s high at all for what you are getting. We raise our own but we have to count in the feed that goes into them. My wife keeps track of that but I don’t want to know what it is, Ain’t none of it cheap but like you said, you know what you’re getting. I eat more than a pound a day so that would last me a year. -
You should tell your story. There are others out there that could probably benefit from it

90 days today!
Geezy replied to Outdoorstom's topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
It really boils down to what the body can tolerate or what your mindset is. Many people will reintroduce certain things one at a time to see how it affects them. If there’s a change then they know it’s forever banned but if their body doesn’t react then they can keep it. My only indulgence is jalapenos. I love jalapeno poppers and will eat a few a couple of times a year. They don’t bother me but I don’t eat them very often either. I’ve also reintroduced some seasonings but again , sparingly. For me it’s all about the mindset. I’m 99% pure because I came from a really bad place and have no desire to ever go back there again. I want nothing but nutritious food going into my body. I don’t see the point of eating something that my body doesn’t need on a regular basis. We all have different physiology’s with different needs so we have to follow our own path in this journey. -
Eat Bacon, Don't Jog book
Geezy replied to Scott F.'s topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
You don’t need the book, you just need to listen to yourself, lol! You really have a complete understanding of how this works. The book does sound like it does a good job of putting things in perspective. -
Irregular heartbeat and palpitations
Geezy replied to Rodney's topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
Yes my name is Geoff. I'm wondering if your doctor took you off of the metoprolol too soon. Mine took me off of it because my BP was getting dangerously low but it’s my understanding that it’s best to slowly ween off of heart meds. You might need to start taking a half dose or a full dose every other day. I was taking a full dose aspirin every evening before I went to bed but I’ve stopped taking it as well. You might look into taking a magnesium supplement such as Magnesium Glutamine. Magnesium is very beneficial for the heart. Yes I do dairy but limited. I go through about a stick a day of butter and I’ll have heaping tablespoon of my homemade yogurt everyday. On the rare occasions when I eat cheese I try to make sure it’s made from whole milk. -

Geoff’s Brisket, Texas Style
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Keto, Carnivore, & Animal-Based Recipes
Yeah and that’s why I don’t do competition. It’s two different ways of cooking. Competition doesn’t want melt in your mouth brisket or fall off the bone ribs but that’s how I cook mine and nobody that I’ve ever come across thinks competition style is any good. -

Welcome to our little tribe Marine. Wow, I’m humbled that my interview with Kerry may help with your family. I pray it does. It’s great that your wife joined you in carnivore. That makes everything so much easier. Gaining weight can be a tough one on carnivore for the very reason you mentioned and that’s appetite. It’s hard to eat when you just aren’t hungry. Have you been slim most of your life? For some people gaining weight is difficult even if they eat a bunch of carbs. I’ve never had that problem myself. Now I don’t know how you eat but the best way I know of for gaining weight is to eat plenty of dairy. I know I have to be careful of how much I eat of it. Then hitting the weights and putting on muscle. That’s what I’m doing right now because I’m struggling to add a little back after losing about 10 pounds too much. But there’s also the theory that when we eat a proper human diet our bodies will settle into their optimal weight so maybe I’m where I’m supposed to be, who knows. Your blood clotting issue is really strange, especially in your fingers. I have one finger with a circulation issue similar to that but mine is due to an injury years ago. HEB? Are you in Texas? Thank you for your service Marine and welcome home. My brother was over in Nam back in 67-68 at Tonsonute. My dad was there in 68-69 at Nah Trang. I was in basic training when it officially came to an end. -

Trust me, those are Tablitas. They are a Mexican dish well known in Texas and they are not beef but pork cross cut ribs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 1,639 replies

Perfectly normal as a carnivore. Because what eat is so nutritious and bioavailable most of what we eat is absorbed or utilized by our body. The only reason we defecated so much when we ate the SAD was because most of what we ate, such as fiber, couldn’t be used by our bodies so it was just expelled. If you experience loose bowels in the beginning it’s usually because your gut biome is trying to adapt to digesting a diet of only fat and protein. After a month or so it should straighten itself out. If you just aren’t going as frequently it doesn’t mean it’s constipation unless you have a strong urge to go but you just can’t get anything to come out and when it does it’s hard and gravely. Bob just released an excellent video on this very thing.

3 oz of ribeye probably has most of the fat trimmed of do you probably would need to add some butter to that but 3 ounces of ribeye is missing a whole lot more than just fat…it’s also missing 13 other ounces of ribeye. lol.

Irregular heartbeat and palpitations
Geezy replied to Rodney's topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
I’m an Afiber. Bob here did an interview with me about how carnivore has helped to reverse my heart disease. 2 months in on carnivore my cardiologist took me off of Metropolol because my diet had brought my BP down to normal levels but the drug was bringing me down too low artificially. Six months later he took me off of my other heart med, Flecinide, and said he only wants to see me once a year now. I rarely have and heart palpitations or PVC’s anymore. I have been a carnivore for 691 days.

Why Keto & Carnivore?
We believe that a proper, all natural human diet should be meat-based, whether that's a keto, ketovore, or carnivore lifestyle. You will thrive on most nutrient dense foods on the planet, lose weight, and possibly reverse disease and chronic illnesses, so why not give this a try?
