  1. Most of ours do but since cholesterol is an essential component to the human body and has very little if anything to do with cardiovascular disease it’s not something we concern ourselves with.
  2. This is true because many start something from an emotional response without any real foundation of commitment. I believe the response would be exactly what they did with Adkins and Keto when it became popular and that was to start introducing processed foods that were labeled Atkins and Keto when in reality they were nothing of the sort. I know I got caught by that lie with Adkins.
  3. As Bob said, yes but the body only produces what it needs to function under normal circumstances. Certain parts of the body needs glucose for proper function such as the brain but when it comes to something like needing a quick burst it may fall short.
  4. Welcome to Carnivore Talk Kuro. I’m glad you joined us. I eat organ meats but you are right, many in America don’t and will consider you weird for doing so. We do have some cultures in the US that indulge in eating organs, such as our Hispanic culture, but most don’t. If you can find a good Mexican meat market or Cariceria you might be able to get some of what you’re looking for. I raise most of my own meat and I hunt a lot so I get my organ meats from those animals that I raise and hunt. You might go to a butcher shop and ask them to save some organs for you from the next animal they process.
  5. Welcome Simon I’m glad you could join us. Depending on what your diet was before carnivore it could be oxalate dumping. If you were a big vegetable eater in the past your body could be trying to get the oxalates out of your body. Then again it may be histamine reaction. It’s hard to say. The way to find out would be to change your source of beef. Find a butcher or store that sources its beef from local farmers if you can. While you can’t always trust the labeling, try to find beef that is labeled as organic, grass finished. Histamine intolerance comes from beef that has been aged so in your case the fresher the better. while most people don’t have any issues with eating beef from Wally World is best to remember that much of their beef is imported from other countries, especially the ground beef found in tubes. In one package of ground beef there may be a mixture of ten different cows in it. Thats not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself but it may contribute to histamine intolerance. I wish I had better advice for you but not having any real experience with it I can only go by what I’ve read. Give it time and good luck. Btw, be careful about reducing your fat intake as that is your only source of energy.
  6. Congrats. You are discovering the wonders of feeding your body with proper nutrition.
  7. I will add that the fruit and veg that our for fathers ate are not what is available to us today. Everything available today is not what God created but what man bastardized.
  8. To each their own but for me it ain't broke so need to fix it.
  9. Welcome Mary. I’ve been seeing many of those click bait posts on Utube here lately but it’s just that…click bait. Many people don’t really understand carnivore. Carnivore is not a true zero carb diet. There is no such thing as even eating all fat and protein you will still get some carbs. Even if you intentionally eat a few carby items now and then it doesn’t mean you aren’t carnivore. Even the lion and the wolf will eat grass occasionally. Carnivore is about providing your body with the optimal food to get the optimal nutrition that it runs best on and that’s animal fats and proteins. If one is eating a diet that consists primarily of those two items I think they could still be considered carnivore. Some purists might disagree and that’s their prerogative to do so but that wouldn’t make them right, only dogmatic.
  10. That’s the beauty of this lifestyle, we can mold it into what works best for each of us as individuals. For me and my addictive tendencies I had to go cold turkey but for those with more discipline it’s probably best if they ease into it. Congratulations on your success so far and good luck on the rest of your journey.
  11. It was good meeting you last night Jonathan, I hope Bob was helpful in answering your questions about your CKD.
  12. I would suggest his diet played a large role in his heart attack. Years of consuming sugar and creating inflammation in his body and then coupled with the supplements and roids.
  13. It’s hard to say. We are all different. You need to be your own N of 1 to find out. Try eating one and see what happens. If all is good after a few days that try some more if you want. Listen to your body. I don’t eat pickles but I will indulge in a jalapeño occasionally but they don’t bother me.
  14. Welcome to our group. Fantastic results and a great testimony to the power of proper eating.
  15. Welcome to our group David. We don’t judge here and are very accepting of everyone. As long as you are respectful we will be respectful in kind.
  16. I eat all the gristle on my steaks, ox tail when I can get it and eat a lot of clean pork rinds.
  17. 12 oz New York strip and a couple of 1/3 lb burgers all smoked.
  18. Keep up the good work Jay. We’ve got your back.
  19. Welcome back. I think you are approaching this from a good perspective. Some people need to ease into this lifestyle while others can just jump in with both feet. I can’t moderate so I’m a jump right in kinda fellow but I completely understand those that must go a little slower. In fact I envy those that can moderate. It means they are less addictive and have more control. You do what’s best for you and stay in touch so we know how it’s going.
  20. Welcome to our community. Congratulations on the improvements you’ve encountered so far. It’s hard to say why you might be experiencing some short term memory issues. Age, diet, sleep patterns? It could be several different things. Diet wise it could be you aren’t getting enough fat. Fat fuels the brain. You may not be eating enough and not meeting your nutritional requirements. Could dairy be the issue? Maybe cut the dairy for a month or two and see what happens. Maybe low on electrolytes. You haven’t mentioned your age. I’m 69 and my short term memory is not good. I don’t think it’s getting any worse but I don’t think it’s getting any worse. Poor sleep or not enough sleep can have ill affects on us in many ways and I believe memory is one of them. I hope you get it figured out soon. Have you experienced any other positive effects becoming a carnivore?
  21. I loved and respected Charlie Kirk as a Christian, as a conservative and as a communicator. He is a man who can never be replaced and I will miss him but I don’t grieve his death as I know he has his reward in heaven and I celebrate his eternal life serving Christ. I grieve for his family and for the millions that he influenced. Other than Jesus himself I know of no other man who influenced so many at such a young age. He was an inspiration and mentor to many.
  22. Even his own parents recognized him from the surveillance pictures. When you know someone as intimately as a family member does you can recognize them from just how they walk, stand and move. You don’t even need to see their face. There are so many people coming up with all of the conspiracy theories that are just stupid. People talking crap about stuff they don’t have a clue about. They just want to get recognized for saying something and then when they are shown up for the fools they are you don’t hear a peep out of them retracting what they said. The first one was the “It was a ‘Professional’ hit”. I know a little something about shooting, sniping and killing and I knew immediately that all of the idiots coming out in the beginning talking that nonsense we’re full of bovine excrement.
  23. Welcome to Carnivore Talk. I’m not quite understanding your comment “The last two years it has been reverting to numbers on my blood work”. Are you saying that your blood work numbers are reverting to what they were before you became a carnivore?
  24. It’s kinda like mechanics these days. It seems the more technical advancements we see the less they really know. Doctors can’t diagnose anymore without a machine telling them what to look at so it makes them lazy. There are very few real mechanics left anymore because all they know how to diagnose what wrong is to plug in a computer.
