Tomorrow evening and Thursday evening will find me behind the scorer's table, running the scoreboard for our High School basketball games.  In the past, I would just eat a nasty hot dog or nachos, but not anymore.....  This happens regularly with me and the wife, where school things keep us from coming home until 7-9pm.

We've got to figure out some remote meals that aren't junk eating, even if non-carb.

Tomorrow evening, we will have the wife pick up a pound of smoked brisket from the BBQ joint, but I won't pay $35 a lb for meat every time.

Gotta figure out some solutions.

Suppose the smart thing to do is Pre-prepare meals and freeze them, take them to work and reheat in a microwave.

Yeah that’s the thing, you gotta plan ahead. When I’m traveling I don’t take a meal per se but just foods that I can eat in the go. Hard boiled eggs, lunchmeat if I can find any that’s fairly clean, cheese although I’m abstaining right now. If I plan far enough ahead I’ll make some biltong. I won’t eat store bought jerky because it has soy and usually sugar in it. Even some cooked up burger patties work in a pinch. Pork rinds that are clean and fried in lard are a good snack to take along.
If I’m going somewhere that I can’t just take my own food but there’s not going to be anything I can eat then I’ll just eat well before I go and I’ll be just fine. If need be I can always fast.
You are only limited by your imagination.

Yeah this is quite the challenge. Beef jerky, dried sausage, a keto-bar, in real emergencies.

Boiled eggs, burger paddies when you have a fridge available.

I fix burgers and put them in a sandwich bag for trips and outings. Burgers seem to work best for me.

Last year we went to West Virginia to ride side by sides. The night before I cooked a weekends worth of country style pork ribs and chuck steaks. Cuts of meat that can be eaten without forks and knives.

I got quite the laughs when I am standing on the side of the path with a hunk of steak or pork or burger for a snack.

hot dogs nasty?    I can drive across country eating dogs at loves travel stops.  easy peasy

And... guess what I will be eating tonight!   hahahhahaha   Yep, hotdogs.

I referred to our school concession stand hot dogs as nasty.... because they are.  They are cheap with fillers and corn syrup, etc...  4 grams of carb per wiener.

But dangit... I grilled chicken breasts last night to take with us today for our dinner... and I forgot them at the house this morning.  So I go down to our dinky, little store in our little town and there weren't many choices.  I ended up buying a package of Nathan's Hot Dogs.  They were the best I could find, 100% Beef, no fillers......

Only nasty in that they are seldom pure meat but filled with all kinds of things that we carnivores don’t want to eat. Sugar, grains, soy, fillers, seed oils but it’s still better than eating a bag of cookies in a pinch.

    • "Marching into March with Much Motivation"

For this months challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to get up and move. Spring is in the air. The weather is getting better. Get out there and MOVE! Go for walks, hike some trails if they aren't too muddy. Or just make a goal to get on the treadmill or lift some weights more than usual throughout the month. Get in the habit now, and we just might have beach bodies when summer officially hits, lol.

Just like before, we encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk.

The March drawing will be for a 4-pack of Carnivore Bars!

Every Reply in this topic will count as an entry for this month's prize drawing. Back-to-back posts count as 1 entry as a counter to spamming.

Attending Monday night zoom also counts as a bonus entry. Being a supporter of our YouTube channel also gives you an entry.

    • Today is February 1st and marks the first day of "National Fasting February" - and yes, this is a thing. Google it!

For this month's challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to practice various forms of fasting throughout the month. The type of fasting you wish to do is entirely up to you. We are going to encourage INTERMITTENT FASTING, that is to put it simply, skipping a meal so that you are only eating 2 meals a day instead of the traditional 3 meals a day. The goal is to enjoy these meals within an 8 hour "feasting window" and then no food in the remaining 16 hours "fasting window" (in which 8 of those hours you should be sleeping).

An example is waking up at 7am, but waiting until 11am-noon for your first meal, and then having dinner at 6-7pm for your 2nd meal. Other people prefer to eat a breakfast, then a mid-day lunch, and skip dinner.

If you want to throw in a 24, 48, or 72 hour fast just to show off by all mean do so, lol.
