I’m a man so I don’t use anything.
I’ve seen where many women are using skin care products made from tallow and a quick google search came up with a bunch of them.
I imagine Amazon has plenty as well.

for me I'm somewhat of a handsome man, kinda don't want to loose my good looks

Long past that stage for me.

ive applied a thin layer of beef tallow to the skin and then washed it off in the shower. I think it was a good treatment, but tallow is smelly. I’ve tried tallow on my scalp too and although it made my hair more luxurious I think it can clog pores in the scalp

but I use a mix and match of coconut oil and olive oil, sometimes tea tree oil in the hair then washed out in the shower

I only use Dr Bronners soap with no scent

for wounds I use hydrogen peroxide. I also have isopropyl alcohol for certain things

skin brush

boars hair brush

metal comb

plastic comb

emery boards for hands and feet to remove dead skin

MCT coconut oil is my main moisturizer for skin and hair but I’ve found a high quality olive oil can be better, or a mix of coconut and olive oil is even better

for cleaning the pores in my scalp I use a combo of lemon juice and Dead Sea salt

another combo is apple cider vinegar and baking soda. It foams up. But ACV is smelly and takes multiple washes to remove the scent from hair

Occasionally I use Redmond sea salt on the skin and scalp

Occasionally borax is a good exploitative for the scalp and whole body head to toe in the shower

I detail my hands and feet and trim my nails regularly, after hot showers, and use emery board to clean dead skin off the feet and hands

That sounds like an extensive program you have there just on your hair and scalp.
I cured my dandruff that I’ve had ever since I first grew hair longer than 1/16th of an inch so that’s been about 55 years. I’ve had to use progressively stronger dandruff shampoos over the years until I was using the strongest there was OTC.
I’ve been dandruff free for a year now.
In the last month I was read about how chemicals in our soaps and shampoos can affect us and so I started experimenting with my hair. I stopped shampooing it every day and went one week without washing it. Every night I’d just rinse my hair under the shower and vigorously massage my scalp. After my hair dries I can’t see any difference in my hair between shampoo washing and just plain water. Now I’m on a soft water system that’s also filtered of impurities so maybe that’s the difference. So this time I’m going to go two weeks and see how it works out. I’m on day nine now and my hair still looks and feels great and so does my scalp.
650 days ago I couldn’t have gone two days without scrubbing my hair with dandruff shampoo or I’d be going nuts.

OK I'll lower the temp

It's good for blood circulation too. A good mental exercise if it's really cold. Definitely helps with sore muscles and aches, done it for years. Since carnivore I've upped the temperature a bit, with low body fat percentage it got too cold and it's not needed anymore since inflammation is but a rare thing now. But I did notice improvement on my skin. Hot showers stretches the skin, strips away that oily layer that protects your skin. It may lead to inflammation, dryness, even acne, as your skin attempts to replenish those protective oils. So like with the carnivore diet, avoiding is always better than treating.

If you find that challenging, start with a cold rinse at the end, and keep the showers short.

there is a carnivore on youtube that hasn't brushed his teeth or showered in over a year.  and he said his mother didn't notice and his dentist said his teeth looked like he brushed everyday. go figure

I know that channel. I just can't. After yardwork or working out I need that shower. Again, cold(er) water, natural soap (I use goatmilk soap or Bonner's) and keep the showers short. As for the teeth, I find much more validity in that, but again you can use Boca, a fluoride free paste with nano-Hydroxyapatite, a game changer. Also for skin and teeth and overall health I take Iodine.

Agreed. I’ve seen this guy and if he can go that long without a shower then I’m pretty shut he doesn’t work for a living or has a farm.

Today I went on a date with a dermatologist. She said beef tallow is a big no for the skin. Sometimes people get infected or blemished skin from it being applied to skin

Then I asked about MCT oil, thinking that might impress her of my skin care knowledge, and she said regular coconut oil is better for killing microbes. That surprised me

she shot down tea tree oil too, saying it’s just sort of harsh on the skin

What’s that?

A toothpaste without the harmful effects of fluoride. My teeth feel much better, smoother. nano-hydroxyapatite is the way to go.

I’ve looked up Boca toothpaste and it looks expensive. What ingredients are in it?

what all natural alternatives are there to buying store bought toothpaste? Any ideas?

Toothpaste is essentially a product made in a laboratory. Although I am a naturopath who goes to length to find the truth about natural cures, I am actually using a few chemical products for my teeth

Crest original formula with fluoride

ACT mouthwash original formula with fluoride

Listerine original formula

    • Today is February 1st and marks the first day of "National Fasting February" - and yes, this is a thing. Google it!

For this month's challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to practice various forms of fasting throughout the month. The type of fasting you wish to do is entirely up to you. We are going to encourage INTERMITTENT FASTING, that is to put it simply, skipping a meal so that you are only eating 2 meals a day instead of the traditional 3 meals a day. The goal is to enjoy these meals within an 8 hour "feasting window" and then no food in the remaining 16 hours "fasting window" (in which 8 of those hours you should be sleeping).

An example is waking up at 7am, but waiting until 11am-noon for your first meal, and then having dinner at 6-7pm for your 2nd meal. Other people prefer to eat a breakfast, then a mid-day lunch, and skip dinner.

If you want to throw in a 24, 48, or 72 hour fast just to show off by all mean do so, lol.

Just like before, we encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk. Every Reply in this topic will count as an entry for this month's prize drawing. Attending Monday night zoom also counts as a bonus entry. Back-to-back posts count as 1 entry as a counter to spamming.

Let's keep our resolutions going strong!
