HELLO CARNIVORE WORLD!! well a portion of it but it’s a great start. My friends call me Flackowitz, I have been on carnivore for 3 months and I feel amazing. It all started when my therapist told me to try it for 30 days to help with my ADHD, 3 months later and I’m still going strong. My wife and I noticed how it changed everything in our relationship, in our home, in all of our life. As for the ADHD, I feel a lot more focused, confident, I used to have breakdowns where I would hate everything I would do and say and forget. Now the only thing is that for the last crew weeks my short term memory has gotten bad again. I wanted to ask, what adjustments can I make to the diet to help with this.

As of right now I’m eating meat like ground beef, cheese. Eggs for breakfast, I do drink some black coffee when I’m tired and I add only 1 teaspoon of Truvia. I eat pork shoulder and pork chops. Everyone that I follow on carnivore eats ribeye but I can’t afford that.

Thank you for any support you can give, carnivores say that we need to join a Comunity and this is the only one that I could find that’s free. Sometimes you need a Comunity to ask questions and meet other carnivores without paying for fiends and support so I really appreciate this page.

Thank you

Flackowitz

Welcome to our community.

Congratulations on the improvements you’ve encountered so far.

It’s hard to say why you might be experiencing some short term memory issues. Age, diet, sleep patterns? It could be several different things. Diet wise it could be you aren’t getting enough fat. Fat fuels the brain. You may not be eating enough and not meeting your nutritional requirements. Could dairy be the issue? Maybe cut the dairy for a month or two and see what happens. Maybe low on electrolytes.

You haven’t mentioned your age. I’m 69 and my short term memory is not good. I don’t think it’s getting any worse but I don’t think it’s getting any worse.

Poor sleep or not enough sleep can have ill affects on us in many ways and I believe memory is one of them.

I hope you get it figured out soon. Have you experienced any other positive effects becoming a carnivore?

I am not sure I have had any of the 'brain improvements' people mention with carnivore. I am sure I have but just not recognized them.

Maybe the closest to mental clarity is that when I wake up, I wake up. And unfortunately, there is no going back to sleep. If I wake up at 1AM or 2AM that is pretty much where my day starts. The ability to wake up and go is great but coupled with having the irregular sleep patterns of a life-long rotating swing shift worker....carnivore can have some drawbacks.

If I were to point to carnivore I would go not enough and not eating enough fat. But most of us have enough fat to supply the brain in the 'leanest' of times.

Good luck. Hopefully you can narrow it down.
