Today is the first day of January and is also the first day of World Carnivore Month. To that end, let's challenge ourselves to eat a carnivore diet for the entire month of January. The type of carnivore diet and the level of strictness you choose to do is entirely up to you. Examples of carnivore diets include the following...
1) The Lion Diet. A person eating the Lion Diet only consumes the flesh of ruminant animals, water, and salt.
2) The BBBE Diet. BBBE is an acronym for Beef, Butter, Bacon, and Eggs.
3) The Carnivore Diet. This allows for the consumption of any and all animals and animal by-products, including dairy.
In any of the above examples, the object of course is to not consume any plants as part of your diet. Of course, we're not going to micromanage hoe you prepare your food, so your use of seasonings is entirely your own personal choice.
IF your circumstances don't allow you to go full on carnivore in January, then you can participate in this topic by challenge yourself to do better, above and beyond what you have been doing. For example, if you have still been eating grains, seed oils, refined sugar, or drinking alcohol, challenge yourself to avoid these items and just eat a clean, single ingredient whole foods diet such as clean keto, ketovore, or animal based.
We encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk. Participants in this topic will be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of the month.
I had my six-month infusion this morning. All went well. The metabolic panel was all good with the exception of the BUN/CREA was up from 25 in November to 26 today. This is a tad bit high, and I am sure it lends itself to the increased protein over last several months. I am trying to hit the 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight and am eating more than what I really want. I feel OK with where this number landed.
The Lipid panel had a couple shifts.
Total cholesterol was 274 back in November and dropped to 201 today.
LDL dropped from 211 in November to 138 today.
HDL was 55 in November and dropped to 51 today.
Triglycerides were 41 in November and 59 today.
I didn't expect the drop in total cholesterol nor the drop in LDL. I have been a lot of meat and when I think the fat content might be off with the learner cuts (I buy whatever red meat has been marked down at the grocery store) I eat quite a bit of butter. At times, as much as a 1/2 to 3/4 sticks a day.
As of late my workouts have increased in intensity at the gym and I do a kettlebell workout in my front yard. I have not walked as much as I have in the past.
My weight dropped from 308 in May '24 to 211 in November '25. In December I started with the heavy proteins, the creatine, the protein powder, store bought protein drinks, and the extra butter and I gained back to as much as 238 but now back down to 228.
Maybe the best part is that the first half of the immune numbers IGG and IGG subclasses are all back within what is seen as normal levels. Nothing is outside what is called a normal immune system. Prior to carnivore the numbers were completely off the charts, some way too low not doing anything, and some way too high, basically attacking any and everything. The remaining tests will be back in a couple weeks.
Overall, I am in a much better spot than just a few months ago, and way better that pre-carnivore.
I wish more people would think about what they are eating.
Babbling.
