We went to West Virginia this weekend riding side by sides up and down the mountains. Had a blast.

Several of the people on the trip I had not seen since pre-carnivore.

As we discussed the Carnivore approach it was almost 'fun' listening to the "question and answer session". There were a husband/wife couple who were both in the medical field, one a nurse and the other in the lab. As I described the things I cut out and the now it is only meat, salt and water adding that I try to eat red, fatty cuts of meat the majority of time, I actually got a lecture on the things I was missing in my diet. What about Vitamin C? What about fiber? Where are you getting your greens from and what are you doing for anti-oxidants? I explained each the best I could.

For me the irony was standing there with about an 8 ounce rib-eye out of a napkin with a bottle of water I brought from home while they covered the shortcomings of a carnivore diet whilst eating bags of Doritos/Hot Fries, cold Pizza and drinking beer (copious amounts of beer).

Another part of the irony was that was me just a few months ago and I don't feel like I have done near the research I probably need to do as I slowly transition from this being a Carnivore Diet to being a "Carnivore Lifestyle". Ignorance is bliss but it is also fattening and detrimental to one's health.

With that said, a great group of people and we had a blast up and down the mountains. Some flat out racing, some cruising and some sketch hill climbs, but a blast all the same. It is a great part of the country to vacation/do a weekend ride.

Plus, this weekend was six months on the diet. No medicines since late May and down 75lbs. I feel as good as I have in a really, really long time. I was the 55 year (old guy in the group) old guy walking down the side of the mountain to find out if the path was blocked then walking back up. These 25–28-year-old (kids) stopping half-way back up to catch their breath/grab a second wind.

Maybe there is some irony there as well. LOL

Great testimony Scott.
Educating yourself is the best defense against those who are brainwashed (as we all were at one time) and your personal example is the proof.
It’s fun for me to debate the naysayers especially when they come from the ignorance of the mainstream of fake science. I’m a member of Quora and I have several posts to questions about diet and nutrition. The responses I get are hilariously ignorant and it’s fun responding to them but I do find it encouraging when I see how many likes my post generate and the positive responses from those who have had the veil lifted from their eyes.

Good crowd. It was several in the crowd that went KETO for a stretch and said they had pretty good success. Like most diets, they were not sustained.

I told a couple of them that going from KETO to CARNIVORE is not as big a leap as it seems, but the results can be really amazing.

My buddy sent me a meme that basically said no one cared when I was eating McDonald's and Mountain Dews and Little Debbie Cakes by the handfuls but as soon as I went on Carnivore everyone became a doctor...or in so many words. LOL

It was a good time and some good conversation, but with a bit of irony.

    • "Marching into March with Much Motivation"

For this months challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to get up and move. Spring is in the air. The weather is getting better. Get out there and MOVE! Go for walks, hike some trails if they aren't too muddy. Or just make a goal to get on the treadmill or lift some weights more than usual throughout the month. Get in the habit now, and we just might have beach bodies when summer officially hits, lol.

Just like before, we encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk.

The March drawing will be for a 4-pack of Carnivore Bars!

Every Reply in this topic will count as an entry for this month's prize drawing. Back-to-back posts count as 1 entry as a counter to spamming.

Attending Monday night zoom also counts as a bonus entry. Being a supporter of our YouTube channel also gives you an entry.

    • Today is February 1st and marks the first day of "National Fasting February" - and yes, this is a thing. Google it!

For this month's challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to practice various forms of fasting throughout the month. The type of fasting you wish to do is entirely up to you. We are going to encourage INTERMITTENT FASTING, that is to put it simply, skipping a meal so that you are only eating 2 meals a day instead of the traditional 3 meals a day. The goal is to enjoy these meals within an 8 hour "feasting window" and then no food in the remaining 16 hours "fasting window" (in which 8 of those hours you should be sleeping).

An example is waking up at 7am, but waiting until 11am-noon for your first meal, and then having dinner at 6-7pm for your 2nd meal. Other people prefer to eat a breakfast, then a mid-day lunch, and skip dinner.

If you want to throw in a 24, 48, or 72 hour fast just to show off by all mean do so, lol.
