  6. That feeling of being duped.... that's exactly how I felt/feel about the way I ate for the first 4.5 decades of my life. It actually irritates me that the things I did in the name of being "healthy" were all lies. It makes me pause and reevaluate everything.
  7. Tell us about your diet. Many people start off on a carnivore diet and see their trigs improve. But then after some time they come across doctors, communities, and individuals who are all about the fat, overemphasizing it's value, and encouraging you to add loads of fat to anything and everything. People will stop grilling their ribeye's because they might lose precious rendered fat as it drips onto the catch tray or charcoal below. Overdoing the fat can raise the trigs a little. There is a balance here. That grilled ribeye was just fine. Other important factors is making sure to be fasted 14 hours before the blood draw. Lipids are highly variable, especially trigs. When you eat, they will rise. They may even carry over to the next day until they are broken down and utilized. ON THE FLIP SIDE.... trigs can climb if you are rapidly losing weight or have health issues. My trigs are high because of kidney disease. HDL and trigs reciprocally relate to one another. When one goes up, the other goes down. Since blood glucose has gone up, maybe you are not getting enough fat and gluconeogensis is taking place. These are just ideas/avenues/rabbit holes worth exploring.
  8. So dairy is still carnivore, however it is not low-carb or sugar free in the case of milk (lactose is a sugar). I still use cheese liberally in my diet. Some people will caution against dairy, as it is inflammatory in some people and if you think about it, it is for the purpose of fattening up a young newborn by design, so some individuals find themselves stalling when incorporating dairy. Unfortunately there are SO many factors that can come into play here. Often times, women lose slower than men on average. They have less muscle mass and therefore slower metabolic rates. Hormones can factor in as well. Underlying issues such as thyroid, etc, could be at play. Bigger people lose more at first and then level out as they get skinnier, and skinnier people struggle more. The time eventually comes when the remaining stubborn pounds might require some physical activity, fasting, etc. We almost have to create a checklist and start working through it, checking off things one at a time. I would incorporate time-restricted eating (intermittent fasting) if she hasn't already. If she is 3 meals a day plus snack, readjust that to 2 meals a day. Try to eat within an 8 hour window and fast for the remaining 16. This gives the body ample time to process and use whatever is consumed and to tap into fat stores on the body. The only caveat is don't skimp on those 2 meals. Under eating will cause the metabolism to slow down. When I stick to an intermittent feasting schedule, I lose weight. When I am eating 3 meals a day or more with snacking, I maintain weight.

Did you spend several years of your life eating a vegan or vegetarian diet, truly believing that this was the way we were designed to eat, only to later learn that this is exactly the reason why you were always sick? It's shocking at first when you learn that the carnivore diet is not only sustainable and healthy, but trumps a vegan diet in every nutritional category imaginable. Join us onscreen for tonight's carnivore round table discussion where we will discuss our positive experiences and the benefits we have enjoyed on a carnivore diet. 10. Welcome aboard! Could you elaborate on some of these concerns. Without more context, you should see a reduction in weight, reduction in blood pressure, reduction and eventual elimination of brain fog, eventual increase in sustained energy (not supernatural Mario-eats-a-mushroom type energy), and cholesterol is a bit unpredictable. Might go up, down, stay the same, but for very valid reasons we don't believe any change in cholesterol to be of any real concern at all.
  11. It also is worth noting that the surveillance photos were enhanced using imaging software and A.I. The actual footage really didn't show much, and zooming in results in too much pixelation. So image editors and A.I. were used to try and approximate what he might look like close up. The "Everyday Chit-Chat and General Discussion" forum is for non-carnivore topics. I am actually very religious, and my religious convictions require me to remain politically neutral. A lot of what is said online, even here, I may personally disagree with. I simply either comment using very vague generalities that we all might have in common, or I simply scroll on by without commenting. I can't allow my personal beliefs and convictions dictate what others can say or express in their posts here. I posted about Charlie Kirk because I was a fan of his debating skills. Much of his moral positions are in line with mine, which would make sense since we are both rooted in scripture: the value of human life, human rights, the truth about genders, etc. I could care less about his political positions though.
  12. I'm not so sure. But based on the timestamps of your posts, it would appear you are about 6 weeks in so I would expect the stool issues to be leveling out about now. As a general rule, the experts will say that if your stools are hard, add a little more fat to your diet. If they are loose, back off the fat a little bit. The reasoning being that if you do not have enough bile on hand (stored in your gall bladder) when you eat then the fat will slide right through you and out the back side. I personally found that when I add cheese to my diet, things stiffen up. Cheese is apparently a natural 'constipator' for me. You could try supplementing with Ox Bile capsules when you eat to see if that will help.
  13. This is hard to say because it sounds like you have everything covered. But for the sake of review, irritability is often the result of withdrawal symptoms and hormone changes that occur with diet. Ways to combat irritability include.... 1) Eat enough food. It's easy to feel satiated with this way of eating, so make sure you are eating enough. This is where counting "calories" may actually be of some use. Many carnivores discourage calorie counting, but the truth is that calorie counting can be a metric used to gauge just how much you are eating per day. Also, don't fear fat. Make sure you are getting adequate fat and not eating too lean of protein. Aim for a 1:1 fat to protein ratio (gram for gram). Keep in mind that the fat in ground beef or other meats can render out. Try to include the rendered fat when you eat, and don't drain it out after cooking. 2) Drink more fluids to make up for lost fluids. However, this is closely related to the next point also... 3) You may need more electrolytes. Excessive drinking may cause you to excrete some of these electrolytes which will then need replenished. 4) Exercise to the point of working up a sweat. This helps with electrolyte balance as well, and also allows you to sweat out toxins. 5) If you are in the north or don't go outside much, consider some vitamin D. My vitamin D levels used to be crazy low, in part due to my kidney disease. I supplement pretty heavily every day. Start small and work your way up though, and get your vitamin D levels checked periodically to make sure you are not above toxic levels. 6) Include some organ meat in your diet once in a while to get any potential missing nutrients. 7) Check your thyroid hormones and iodine levels in case these need supplementing. Hormonal changes are often tied to thyroid function. 8) Focus on the positive. You are benefitting from this lifestyle. Keep that in mind. Also consider what you may have done prior to eating this way to manage stress. Did you have any habits you fell back on, like eating, snacking, having candy, smoking, having a drink, biting your finger nails, punching someone's lights out, lol? Maybe you're just in the middle of learning how to cope with stresses differently than you had before.

  17. I bought chuck steak last night because it was cheap. Didn't care for it all too much. A bit tougher and more chewy than I'm used to. Maybe there's a better way to prepare a chuck steak and I just need to be educated.
  18. I know a lot of vegan/vegetarians. Most of them are sick or have health issues. There are a few that seem to be healthy but they are the exception, not the rule. I imagine those are the ones who supplement religiously or cheat a little here and there.
  19. Good video. All the more reason I tried to remain neutral and stay out of politics.
  20. Vegetarian Diet Linked To High Depression Scores, Suggests Large Meta-Analysisby Jack Dunhill, Social Media Coordinator and Staff Writer Vegetarian diets could be linked with higher depression scores, suggests a huge meta-analysis of almost 50,000 people by researchers in Bochum, Germany. The research backs up existing studies that have linked ditching meat to an increased likelihood of depression, but the reason why remains elusive. Whether vegetarianism actually plays a role in depression is poorly understood. Some studies have pointed the finger at the diet, while others have refuted the findings. To identify a link – if there is one – Sebastian Ocklenburg and Jette Borawski performed a large-scale meta-analysis on published studies that compared the depression scores of non-vegetarians and vegetarians. Their results are published in the Journal of Affective Disorders. After accounting for duplicates, there were a total of 8,057 vegetarians and 41,832 non-vegetarians included in the analysis. While the sample was large, many of the participants were from similar countries, and so the diversity within the study was relatively low. The researchers then used a statistical program to scour the studies for mood disorder scores and sufficient data to be considered significant, and 13 studies fit the bill. Once all the findings were analyzed, the researchers discovered a significant increase in the depression scores of vegetarians compared to non-vegetarians. However, while the data was significant, there was also significant heterogeneity in the studies (how conflicting the results were between each study), indicating there was certainly not a unanimous conclusion. The authors are clear in their paper that they wish to make no conclusions based on the results – it is still unclear whether the link is causal from the diet, or whether those that experience depression are more likely to choose vegetarianism. In one study included in the analysis, for example, the results indicated that more often than not, people with depressive symptoms started their vegetarian diet after the onset of the disorder, suggesting it is not a causal link. It is suggested that depression may make the person more health-conscious, leading them to vegetarianism, or that depression enhances the feelings of empathy towards animals. This is purely speculation at the current time, however. With a significant link established, the authors now call for further research to understand its true nature. The first step would be to include more countries into the studies, as there is a clear bias in many of the studies towards a small number of countries. Once these are included, identifying whether the diet underlies the symptoms, or is purely a resulting lifestyle, will be incredibly important. 21. If is sentence was life in solitary confinement with Charlie Kirk videos on endless repeat until the day he died, I wouldn't be against that, lol. He can grow old listening to Charlie Kirk non-stop, with Charlie Kirk's voice being the last thing he hears as he passes away. Maybe he will realize he was wrong, and that Charlie never uttered so-called "hate speech", and that he was neither a racist, homophone, white supremacist, or any of the other host of lies people say about him. I'll admit that I have some inner conflict when it comes to news like this. On the one hand, the killer should be punished to the furthest extent of the law, whatever that may be. At the same time, I mirror the creator's feelings in that God ".... does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) I supposed both outcomes are not necessarily exclusive of the other.
  22. He would speak on college campuses and invite anybody up to debate him on a variety of topics. He identified as conservative politically. He was speaking at one of these events in front of about 3000-ish attendees when he was shot in the neck and most likely died instantly. The killer ended up being a 22 year old brainwashed young man.
  23. Actually yes, at the buffet they did have raw oysters. They were just "okay" compared to the oysters I get up here in Ohio at my favorite seafood boil place. The ones at the buffett had the same size shells but much tinier specimens inside them. I just had to compensate by eating more, lol.
