  1. Your old man winter has gotten drunk again and stumbled down here. Please come get him. 🥶
  2. I experienced this especially in the first 90 days and a few times since. At first it was due to the diet bringing my blood pressure down to normal levels naturally and my medication taking it even lower artificially. Once my cardiologist took me off of the medication I would still experience it occasionally while working outside in the heat. I found that using electrolytes before hand helped but the overall thing I found was that I wasn’t eating enough. Many people, when the first get started on carnivore tend to under eat. Either they are still caught up in that fable of CICO or they just don’t eat as much because they don’t get as hungry on carnivore. Try to remember that when we become fat adapted we are no longer using glucose for fuel. In fact, if we are eating properly, we no longer have any glucose left to burn except what our bodies make naturally. We now use ketones for fuel which come from the fats stored in our bodies and the fat we consume. Therefore it’s important that we get plenty of fat when we eat.
  3. Hmmm🤔 freedom of speech, what a novel concept. Sounds good to me. The only reason this spineless little weasel is doing this though is because he’s afraid of the new administration. I it’s not a hill he’s willing to die on but it’s still a good thing. We’ll see how it works out.
  4. Calories” are a measure of heat energy created when you burn something in a calorimeter. Completely useless measure as we do not burn our food, we process it chemically… completely different processes and outcomes. Folks lose weight/fat on carnivore because they cut carbs from their diets, not because they cut calories. In fact, you can lose weight/fat on carnivore even when you increasethe total calories you eat. Yes, in fact, you can lose weight/fat by reducing carbs and eating the same or even more calories on carnivore. Why is that? It’s because (1) carbs turn into glucose (in fact they are glucose) which if not burned immediately for energy get stored for future energy as fat by insulin. (2) Eating fat increases your metabolic rate of energy consumption. Because eating fat does not increase insulin, stored fat is free to leave adipose storage to be used as fuel. On carnivore it will be used as fuel because by restricting carbs it’s the only fuel available. The human metabolic system does not run on units of heat energy ie calories. Calories cannot be eaten because they are not mass and what we put into our bodies is mass.
  5. Tell your doctor to go pound sand. She is ignorant as most doctors are. You are in charge of your health, nobody else.
  6. Welcome Gabe. You sound like the perfect candidate for the carnivore lifestyle. Ecmvrty ailment you mentioned is treatable through proper diet and nutrition that you will get from being a carnivore. Bob has suggested a very good path for you to follow. That just it, you can’t trust any of the conventional doctors out there. 99% of them are ignorant of nutrition and how it plays a role in our metabolic health. They do not study nutrition in school. I only use doctors now to fix something I’ve broken. You need to take charge of your own health. Do your own research and make your own decisions. Doctors are the third leading cause of death right behind heart attacks and cancer and if the truth be known they are the cause of most of those as well. If you want to listen to some doctors you can trust then look up Dr’s Berry, Chaffee, Baker and Ovadia on Utube. They won’t steer you wrong.
  7. Here we call those eggs in a nest. Nos that I’m carnivore I’ll never eat them that way again.
  8. Be careful of “regular salt”. If it’s anything like what we have here in the States it may had additives in it that are not compatible with your diet such as sugar. Bob is correct on his assessment of salt in relation to high blood pressure. Since I have been carnivore I’m off all of my medications one of them being for regulating my blood pressure. In the meantime I liberally salt my food and even put salt in my water on occasion and my blood tests show that my sodium levels are barely staying in the normal range. Since there are no longer and carbs in my body retaining fluid in me my kidneys are free to expel any excess sodium I might have.
  9. As you adapt it should get better. Get through 30 days and then another 30 days and then another and after about 90 days you should be seeing some really good improvements. To respond to an individual like I did to you just look at the bottoM of the post you wish to respond to and a lite to the left of center you’ll see a button that says “quote”. Click on that and it’ll quote the whole post so that you can respond directly to it. If you just want to respond to a specific sentence you can highlight the sentence or word and a quote button should appear under it the sentence. You can then click on that button and do the same thing as quoting before and responding.
  10. Very well spoken Scott. You might be on to something there. 🤣
  11. Going through my Utube feed earlier and this short popped up.
  12. I’ve seen you post some things that would prove that wrong.
  13. Give your body time to adjust. Many people claim that they get better, longer sleep after becoming carnivore. This hasn’t been my experience but most people my age don’t sleep long anyways. I sleep 4 to 5 hours and to be honest I have no issues with having enough energy to get through the day. I don’t know what’s right or wrong when it comes to how much sleep we need. I think it’s all just individual. If we are feeling ok then we are probably getting enough. If not then you may need to supplement but I would give your body more time to adjust before trying a supplement. Our bodies are not quick to adapt to changes.
  14. Welcome Ronnie. Typical to get easily dehydrated in the beginning. You are no longer eating carbs or fiber so there is less in your body holding onto water so you are flushing more out of your this is also why many experience leg cramps because in flushing our water we are also flushing out electrolytes. You may need to start taking a supplement such as LMNT or KetoChow. After a time as I did you may find that simply upping your salt intake may be enough. Looks good but make sure you are getting plenty of fat. A good starting point is to get 70% or your calories from fat and 30% from protein. This goes back to my statement about electrolytes. Not to worry, this is normal. You are used to eating things, vegetables, fiber and highly processed foods that don’t digest in your body so your body is constantly excreting them through your bowels. We you eat fat and meat, the most nutritious food you can eat, the majority of it is being used and absorbed by your body so naturally there won’t be much left to expel. Many people experience diarrhea for two to four weeks in the beginning as their gut biome adjusts to just digesting meats and fats, I know I did but after that break in period i becomes more normal. I just because you don’t have the urge to “go” doesn’t necessarily mean you’re constipated. True constipation is when you you have the strong urge to go but it’s stuck and won’t come out. Not having an urge just means there’s nothing there. If you do encounter constipation which I did for quite some time you can take a magnesium citrate supplement or use an herbal laxative tea but in time that should straighten itself out as well. I took me a year for my body to fully adjust to eating carnivore but the health benefits were definitely worth waiting it out. I’ll add that I don’t have a gall bladder so that may be why I struggled so much in the beginning. I’m normal now and for me as a carnivore that means having a bowel movement about once a week, sometimes twice and I’ve been known to go ten days. The general rule of thumb is pay attention to your fat intake. Harder stools, eat more fat. Looser stools eat less fat.
  15. Great news from both of you.
  16. I don’t grind my own. I don’t have a grinder but when I get an animal processed I get plenty of grind. I always get a 70/30 ratio. The great thing about doing your own is that you know exactly what’s in it. Someday, if they aren’t doing it already, they will be putting fake meat into the hamburger you buy in the store. Most especially those that come in the big tubes. I usually like to mix some bacon or sausage in the burger. I like a mix of 2 pounds of burger mixed with 1 pound of sausage or bacon. Good stuff.
  17. Yesterday it was grilled venison tenderloin, backstrap and German sausage.
  18. Cast iron for me. One of these days I may get a cast iron Dutch oven.
  19. I have found that about that same timeframe I lost all taste for anything sweet. Carbs no longer appealed to me. Congratulation's.
  20. My progress as of today. Jan Weight 168.4 168.2 167.8 168.8 As I’m typing I’m eating a couple of eggs and about 14 oz of rib roast. I will probably have to eat two meals today because I just don’t have time right now to eat a big meal but I’m standing strong on not eating any dairy. I made yogurt yesterday and as temping as it was to test taste the final product I resisted.
  21. I learned a long time ago that I was an abstainer and not a moderator. That’s why I’m as strict as I am. One has got to know their limitations to be successful.
  22. I like adding ground pork to my burger. I would hate to be allergic to pork. I love me some pork ribs and ham is great.
  23. Chowed down on two big venison burgers and four eggs from my hens. Eatin naturally, the only way to go.
  24. I don’t add it during cooking but after it’s done and on the plate. Like dipping lobster in butter.
