Carnivore and kidney function
Geezy replied to Scott F.'s topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
To expand on that I’d like to point out that we as carnivores try to imitate how our ancestors ate as far as the type of food we eat but we often continue to eat as modern man eats. I don’t believe that early man ate by any schedule but only when he was hungry. Early man did not have a concept of time but he knew when he was hungry. When he was hungry he either grabbed some leftover meat or he went hunting and when he ate he ate until he was full. -

That’s great. So many doctors are so mainstream and closed minded that they aren’t willing to learn. It sounds like you’ve got a good one there. -
Carnivore and kidney function
Geezy replied to Scott F.'s topic in General Health and Wellness Discussion
It’s been my experience and it’s also recommended by many in the carnivore community such as Dr. Baker that we should not eat by the clock or socially but only when we are hungry. -
O Lord, lead me in Thy righteousness because of my foes; make Thy way straight before me. There is nothing reliable in what they say; their inward part is destruction itself; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. Hold them guilty, O God . . . for they are rebellious against Thee. But let all who take refuge in Thee be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and mayest Thou shelter them, that those who love Thy name may exult in Thee. For it is Thou who dost bless the righteous man, O LORD, Thou dost surround him with favor as with a shield. —PSALM 5:8-12 I hope and pray that this doesn’t sound blasphemous but when reading this during my devotional I just couldn’t help but apply this to our daily journey as carnivores. It resonates with me in how we deal with those who rail against us in our WOE be it doctors, scientists, family or the general public. I’m afraid this sounds like I’m trying to make this WOE a religion, I’m not, but I constantly find how scriptures constantly apply to us in everything we do. After all the word bible is a wonderful acronym. Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth

Very wise for someone so young. Hunger never means malnutrition nor does it mean we need to eat, only that our belly’s are empty. What most people who eat SAD equate to hunger is actually just a carb craving or lack of Leptin’s. Most of us don’t get “pulled into into fasting” it just comes naturally because we just aren’t getting hungry like we used to because our bodies are satisfied with the nutrients we’ve provided for it. Being young and still growing your body is demanding more nutrients than us older folks need. Personally I wouldn’t hold any nutrition back from my growing body as long as I was young and active if my body is telling me I need it.

The LMNT Controversy
Geezy replied to Orweller's topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
It’s been a touchy subject for LMNT. From my understanding the amount that was in their formula was very minuscule and was not going to be a factor in anyone’s diet but the company that was making it for them was putting too much in the formula. They were having their product independently tested when it was discovered and they made it known publicly that they had messed up. That speaks well to their integrity. When I was using LMNT I only used the plain version so it never should have affected me as it was only in their flavored versions. -
What you are experiencing is normal. Early man never ate by the clock. He ate when he was hungry and when he did he gorged himself. When I first became carnivore I only ate when I was hungry and that would usually be just once a day. So I was going about 23 hours every day without food and I thrived. Once I lost all I intended to lose I had to be careful to make sure I was eating enough to maintain my weight. Im still eating when I get hungry but now that I’ve listened most of my excess fat my body is requiring more food so if I know I’m going to have a hard day of work I’ll eat a small fatty meal a couple of hours after I wake up and then a good meal in the evening. Both times I’ll be a little hungry but not ravenous. I never weigh out my food or track it. I just make sure I’m getting plenty of fat with each meal. I just go by how I feel. My body tells me what I need.

The fat we use to make fat bites out of is the solid fats from cuts of meat after we’ve rendered the liquid out. Those you can get crispy. The liquid fat you cannot get crispy and will always be liquid or if cooked down solidified as you’re witnessing. The only things you can do with that fat is drink it along with the broth, which you already said you don’t care for, use it for cooking such as frying meat or eggs. Be prepared though as that fat when using for frying will not be clean and the higher heat will case the impurities to sizzle and pop. Still tastes great though. To get those impurities out you could try filtering it through a coffee filter but that can be a slow and messy process. About the only other thing you can do with it is feed it to your carnivore pets if you have any.

What Did You Eat Today?
Geezy replied to Geezy's topic in Carnivore, Ketovore, Keto, & Low-Carb Support
Busy day today. Besides working on my place I made two pounds of liverwurst. Mixed a pound of venison burger and home grown beef burger together and made hamburger patties which I then smoked along with a brisket. I then started a fresh batch of yogurt that will be ready tomorrow. I made carnivore pancakes for breakfast and made a batch of tallow from some of the fat I trimmed off of the brisket. Carnivore pancakes and eggs for breakfast. Rendering down brisket fat for tallow. Finished tallow and the fat bites left over for snacking on. Finally the finished brisket after a 12 hour smoke. A Texas staple. Ain’t it purdy? Mighty fine eatin right there folks.- 1,645 replies

Yeah I figured as much. Spell check usually gets me. And of course I wasn’t offended. If I had been I would just suspend your account.
