  1. Welcome Famal, we are glad you could join us. Three things that are hampering your weight loss and causing you to gain weight. Cheese and dairy. When most people stall out on their weight loss journey it’s usually because of dairy. Dairy has a sugar in it called lactose. It can be addictive and easily over eaten. I had to stop dairy for a time because I was eating too much of it myself. Now that I’m maintaining my weight I can eat some dairy but I still have to be careful of it. Alcohol. Alcohol can and will kick you out of ketosis so if you are serious about being metabolically heathy and lose weight you may want to abstain. If you find it difficult to abstain then choose your drink carefully. Beer is the worst thing you can drink and wine comes in a close second. If you must drink then straight sprits are your best bet. No mixed drinks. Vegetables. While vegetables are not the devil per se on carnivore we just don’t see any reason to eat them when they provide no nutritional benefits for us. If you are going to eat them you need to keep the carb count down to 20 grams or less a day. No sauces or seed oils in the cooking. Make sure they are leafy greens and not starchy root vegetables. Best not to eat them at all in my opinion. Anytime you stall out or start gaining then evaluate your diet and often you’ll find the culprit there. Hood luck and good health.
  2. Giving the addicted an excuse to stay addicted.
  3. We think of seasonings as be benign or army worst something that may trigger an autoimmune issue but besides that just be aware that those seasonings have carbs. So keep that in mind if you are trying to be zero carb and especially if you are dealing with a plateau.
  4. Yeah Berry had me going for a minute especially when he said it was a Texas company. I use a butter that’s made here in Texas so he definitely had my attention.
  5. I am a carnivore and I don’t care how other people eat and will never tell them that they have to eat like I do unlike the vegans who demand we all conform to their religious way and it is a religion to them. I have met many carnivores that do believe that everyone should eat some kind of ketogenic diet with carnivore being the best but none of them ever try to tell anyone else how to live. We all lead by example. My wife is meat centric but she’s not carnivore but she does believe it’s a proper way to eat and my children are now eating carnivore because they saw the changes in me. I never told them to do it. It is important though that we always have an answer to any question asked and be willing to help anyone who asks.
  6. Great testimony Scott. Educating yourself is the best defense against those who are brainwashed (as we all were at one time) and your personal example is the proof. It’s fun for me to debate the naysayers especially when they come from the ignorance of the mainstream of fake science. I’m a member of Quora and I have several posts to questions about diet and nutrition. The responses I get are hilariously ignorant and it’s fun responding to them but I do find it encouraging when I see how many likes my post generate and the positive responses from those who have had the veil lifted from their eyes.
  7. No argument from me.
  8. A couple of eggs with some ribeye fat bites and later in the day a big ribeye.
  9. So far only zoom meeting on Monday nights. Bob will post a thread to the next one with the time and log on info. Come join us if you can.
  10. Welcome to our group Melissa. Im glad to see someone come on board with such enthusiasm. You sound as though you’ve do your research well. You mentioned that you like salads so I’ll tell you my experience with that. After my son introduced me to this carnivore lifestyle I told him that I liked salads and my son asked me “Do you really? Or do you like what you put on the salad. Go grab a head of lettuce out of the fridge and eat it with nothing on eat and tell me how much you like salad.” He was 100% correct. It wasn’t the lettuce that I liked. It was the crunch of the leaf, the meats, cheeses, onions, tomatoes olives and highly processed, seed oil and sugar laden dressings. It turns out I could apply that sand thought to all of the vegetables I ate. It wasn’t what I was eating that I liked but all of the stuff I put on it.
  11. Do what you want but I would first get yourself fully entrenched in this lifestyle before dealing with the caffeine withdrawals. Many carnivores drink coffee and do just fine on it. Some find that it hinders their progress. So if it’s not causing any issues in you then don’t worry about it for now.
  12. Came across this while studying this morning and couldn’t help but chuckle out loud during my quiet time. “Now God gives to man a new provision for food. Before the Flood God gave to man the green earth, the plant life, to eat. Now He tells Noah that he is able to eat animal life. There are diet faddists, and often this type of thing becomes a part of a person's religion. I once met a lady who was a vegetarian as a part of her religion, and she was quite excited when I told her that these antediluvians were all vegetarians. She thought this reinforced her argument that we should all be vegetarians, and she had her assistant take it down in her notes. However, I think she must have erased it later because I told her this: "I wouldn't make too much of it if I were you because you must remember that it was a bunch of vegetarians who were destroyed in the Flood. If diet had in any way improved them at that time, they would not have been destroyed." We see here that God now permits man to eat flesh.” J. Vernon McGee Thru The Bible vol 1
  13. He gotta fight a lot of big money. I wish him luck.
  14. Hi Kyle, I’m glad you could us. You are on the the right track to becoming a carnivore. Keep up the good work until you arresting only animal fats, animal protein, salt and water if you want to become a pure carnivore. I would urge you to not treat this as a diet because it’s not a diet in the conventional sense of eating in a way to lose weight. This is a lifestyle of eating. We come to this lifestyle to turn our lives around through what we eat. In so doing we heal and strengthen our bodies and a wonderful side benefit is we often lose weight. If you want to succeed at this you’ll need to understand that you may be a carbohydrate addict and it can be difficult to kick the addiction so be prepared to give this way of eating at least 90 days. That will help you get past the addiction and free yourself so you can just focus on eating properly. Continue the immerse yourself into the carnivore community and continue to educate in this lifestyle to keep yourself motivated and you will find that this is not very difficult if you have the right mindset. Good luck and good health sir.
  15. Hi Rose, welcome to our group. We are glad you could join us. I am an AFib’er. Before I answer your question I need to ask what kind of atrial fibrillation are you dealing with? The reason that’s important is because carnivore has done wondrous things for my AFib but mind may not be the same as yours. So what I have is Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation. In my case I’m in normal rhythm most of the time. Before carnivore I would have 8-10 heart flutters or palpitations a day and they’d be strong enough for me to stop what I was doing and prepare to collapse. I would have a very mild attack about every other month that would result in a high heart rate and sometimes an anxiety attack. The at least once a year I would have a severe attack that my wife would have to rush me to the ER because my upper atrium would quit working and I’d have no blood pumping through my body. Not a fun time and I’d spend a few days in ICU while they got me back in rhythm. This went on for four years and my last bad attack was a year to the month after I had a cardiac ablation done. Obviously didn’t work for me. It was after that last attack that I made up my mind to change my lifestyle and I became carnivore. After that long background (sorry) here’s what happened. In about 3-4 months my blood pressure came down to normal levels and my cardiologist had to take me off the Metropol medication as it was bringing my BP way too low. Then in about another 3 months I had lost so much weight and the palpitations had reduced to just one or two a day that my cardiologist cut my Flecanide medication in half. After about 15 months as a carnivore the palpitations have reduced to maybe one or two a week and my cardiologist has taken me completely off of all my medications and has reduced my visits to once a year. He loves what carnivore has done for me. Now I don’t what to go so far as to say I’m cured but it does appear that I have reversed or at least controlled my AFib. When I’m working hard my heart rate will elevate and I sometimes have to stop and rest but everything stays in rhythm. Now with all of that being said, I have a friend in Australia that has a different kind of AFib than mine (I don’t know which one though) and he is carnivore. He has seen some improvement but nothing like mine. He is able to control his through meditation and breathing techniques when he has an attack but he does believe that by carnivore reducing the inflammation in his chest and around his heart he has seen improvement. I hope he gets to where I am some day. Regardless whether carnivore cures your AFib or not I believe it can definitely help and most importantly it’s the best way to heal and keep your body strong and functioning properly.
  16. Even assuming you need K1, eating plants is about the worst way for you to get it: When comparing the 10-hour AUC of phylloquinone food-bound sources have been noted to have 4% the AUC of supplements Phylloquinone has been determined to have a bioavailability of 5-10% when consumed from plant based foods The reduced bioavailability of plant-sourced vitamin K appears to be due to a tight binding of phylloquinone to the thylakoid membrane of plant chloroplasts Additionally, K1 is present in a variety of animal-based foods: Beef chuck: 0.6 µg/100g Mackerel: 1.0 µg/100g Egg yolk: 7.0 µg/100g Butter: 2.0 µg/100g Given that "bioavailability is enhanced when consumed alongside fatty acids (3-fold) or when the phylloquinone is taken out of the food matrix", how convenient then that all the animal sources are fatty. A couple more things. Avocado has the same amount of K1 as mackerel and, given that it's a plant source, the K1 is less bioavailable. Perhaps more importantly, it's not even clear that K1 is required. In fact, current research shows that K2 performs the same functions while being distributed more evenly throughout the body. Current research also shows that K2 performs additional functions which K1 does not and potentially even acts outside of the vitamin K cycle. Vitamin K2 MK-7 is a subtype of vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 MK-7 is synthesized by certain bacteria in the gut and can also be obtained from dietary sources such as fermented foods like natto, cheese, and sauerkraut. If you are eating a proper human diet of fatty meat, salt and water you should be getting all you need. It’s been proven time and time again that we do not need vegetables to be healthy. If you are concerned about a vitamin deficiency then get a blood test to check your markers and then proceed as necessary.
  17. You asked specifically about supplements and a blood test could tell you if you are deficient in something. I’m not a big advocate of taking supplements unless you are treating something specific I think you are on the right track to cut out dairy as a possible culprit and if that doesn’t help then look at the pork.
