Hello everyone!

I'm a 61 years old culinarist keto veteran from Finland, first started low carb in 2004. On and off keto ever since... except 2016 I was diagnosed with many heart related problems, got a stent, too.

So :

Even though I DEFINITELY knew better, I fell in all the scary fat talk trap from docs and ended up eating low fat. "What if I destroyed my heart with fat after all...?" And so it happened that I gained 30 kilos in a few years eating low fat. My condition got worse every year.

Now I figured I don't want diabetes in this coctail so I'm back to keto. I don't want to be fat and weak. This is going great,as always. I feel good. Much less BP meds needed already.

I also quit Rosuvastatin because I noticed my legs are going... and Rosu definitely slowed down my metabolism. I was not sweating even in Sauna anymore, now I do.

My doctor is going to hate me. He said about Rosu "this pill is keeping you alive." Maybe but also fat, sick and weak. I want my legs completely back, they are better already.

I hope all this medical talk did not scare you. I'm doing fine and just bought another Kawasaki ZX-12R. Now I have green and red for different moods.

I know I don't look "fat" in this bike pic from last summer but being 6'3", I weigh 110 kg, waist 115 cm. Suit size #62. I used to be 85 kg, 90 cm waist and #56. And I am going back there no matter what my LDL says.

Now in retrospect,it may very well be that my earlier keto years made my 2016 attack as mild as it was. Had I been obese, who knows...

Welcome to Carnivore Talk Carburetor. I like the handle. Mixing fuel and air in the right mixture for optimal performance. 👍

Nice ride brother.
I’m more of a cruiser/bagger type but I like the sport bikes.

Lol. They are?

"They calculated, approximately, a single day of increase in life expectancy for each year of taking a statin. Slightly more in secondary prevention, slightly less in primary (people who have not previously had a heart attack or a stroke).

The main take away message I believe, is the following. Statins do not prevent fatal heart attacks and strokes. They can only delay them. They delay them by about one or two days per year of treatment. For those who have read my books you will know that I have regularly suggested we get rid of the concept of ‘preventative medicine’. We need to replace it with the concept of ‘delayative medicine’.

You cannot stop people dying. You can only make them live longer. How much longer is the key question. With statins this question has been answered. You can, to be generous, add a maximum of two days per year to life expectancy.

Which means that if you were to take a statin for thirty years you could expect to live about two months longer. (Possibly three, more likely one). Assuming, and this is a big assumption, that none of the trials done have been in any way biased towards statins. Even though every single one was funded by the pharmaceutical industry. Further assuming that any benefits seen in the trials will continue for the next twenty-five years."

Welcome.

I like the name as well.

I was always taught 90% of what is wrong with a carburetor is timing.

I have never been into the bikes as a rider or owner, but they are really cool to look at.

I don't do numbers but I hope they are getting better for you.

Yep,everything is great.

I like to follow my diet with some gadgets so I know where I´m at -and what to adjust if needed.

Like ,lately  my protein intake has gone higher than usual. Too much low fat meat. My ketones have also dropped. If my scale shows very little weight loss next Sunday, I know it was too much protein and not enough fat.

My BP drop has been crazy good.

Hey that is good news, glad for you. I guess I can afford not to look at numbers since I never had that heart attack or high blood pressure. I've had my dealings with an auto immune disease, and you tend to go by how you feel. At the end of the day, you do whatever you have to do to stick with it, make it fun if you have to. I can tell you're excited, and that is a good place to be. Many people are discouraged or having a hard time adjusting. You having been keto off and on certainly help, as your body switched easier from fat to carb.

I loved that thing with all my heart. Until a parked car decided to swing their door open without looking, and I briefly learned how to fly. It was all over when I hit the ground. Motor cycles and my beautiful little bike. Since my auto-immune disease involves fusing of bones (Bechterew Disease/Ankylosing Spondylitis) I did not want to risk breaking a bone and having it warp. I broke my finger once, and it is crooked now, lots of built up around the original break. After that I stuck with my beautiful blacked out Alfa Romeo. Safe and sound with seatbelts and all. I guess I'm not a rebel after all lol.

Very cool. I’m not familiar with that bike but it reminds me of my first motorcycle.

that was 54 years ago. Still riding after all these years and have the scars to prove it. 😝
