Having an accountability partner when you're dieting is something that's very good because the person is going to like your checks and balances. If you're trying to break your diet, he or she is going to keep you in line.

Do you have an accountability partner? How helpful have your partner been for you?

Not in real life, at least not anymore. In the past I tried signing "diet contracts" with a friend. We even had penalties for breaking the agreement, but we never enforced them. It was still based on the honor system, and if I confessed to going off plan and "breaking the contract" this usually just drew out a confession from the other person that they too went off plan.

In the past it was solely about weight. Today it is about health, so I am more driven and committed. My "accountability partners" are communities like this one, and being focused on helping others following a similar dietary lifestyle to remain encouraged.

No, I don’t need one. I’m not weak and when I set my mind to do something I generally don’t fail.
Between my veteran father and my time in the military I was taught how to stay hard and never give up.

I have been able to focus on getting it right myself.  I don't need any partner to ensure that I do what I feel that it is the right thing to do when it comes to dieting and my health in general. I want to always be sure to get it right, and I have had better success doing that.

I would also add that while I don’t need an accountability partner I do like the inspiration I get from forums like this one. They help me stay motivated.

This is true. Joining forums where you get to see the struggles and successes of others that are trying to lose weight has been helpful. I always believe that it is such a good idea getting to be part of a community like this, which is why I joined.

In addition to communities like Carnivore Talk and some others, I also like keeping up with YouTube videos from carnivore diet doctors and influencers.

It's easier to stay faithful when you keep feeding your mind with the right information.

My boyfriend and I are both doing the keto diet so we are keeping each other accountable. Honestly, I must admit it has been way easier doing it with someone than to do it alone. Especially because I feel like we are in this together, so it motivates me more to stick with it. I do believe if I were to try to do this diet on my own it would have lasted a few days and then I would have been over it and wanted to eat all the foods we are trying to avoid. If someone is going to start any diet, I would strongly suggest having an accountability partner.

I don't. My son and my wife have tried carnivore a couple three times. I sort of 'just keep going' on whatever it is I am doing at the time.

Some say I have tons of will power but I think it is just I get from Point A to Point B and don't let obstacles slow me down.

Everyone needs to know their strengths and weaknesses if they want to have any hope of success. It’s good you have a partner to be accountable to.
My philosophy is No one is coming to save me so I can’t rely on anyone but myself. Of course I’m not really all that tough because I do actually rely on God quite a bit.

That's nice. When I started, the stricter I got with my eating, the more garbage my wife would buy and bring into the house. She would make yum yum noises and rub it in and say "I can eat anything I want". I would responde, "So can I. The difference is I don't want any of that crap" lol.

Since then, she's actually gone more part time keto, part time animal-based, and still falls off the wagon here and there. But she's lost a decent amount of weight, so my steadfastness ultimately proved to be a motivator for her.

Nope, solo here.  My wife supports me, but is not on the diet.  I don’t need to be held accountable….I’ve got an all or nothing personality and 6 weeks in I can honestly say I haven’t cheated once.  Down 23 pounds.

    • "Marching into March with Much Motivation"

For this months challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to get up and move. Spring is in the air. The weather is getting better. Get out there and MOVE! Go for walks, hike some trails if they aren't too muddy. Or just make a goal to get on the treadmill or lift some weights more than usual throughout the month. Get in the habit now, and we just might have beach bodies when summer officially hits, lol.

Just like before, we encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk.

The March drawing will be for a 4-pack of Carnivore Bars!

Every Reply in this topic will count as an entry for this month's prize drawing. Back-to-back posts count as 1 entry as a counter to spamming.

Attending Monday night zoom also counts as a bonus entry. Being a supporter of our YouTube channel also gives you an entry.

    • Today is February 1st and marks the first day of "National Fasting February" - and yes, this is a thing. Google it!

For this month's challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to practice various forms of fasting throughout the month. The type of fasting you wish to do is entirely up to you. We are going to encourage INTERMITTENT FASTING, that is to put it simply, skipping a meal so that you are only eating 2 meals a day instead of the traditional 3 meals a day. The goal is to enjoy these meals within an 8 hour "feasting window" and then no food in the remaining 16 hours "fasting window" (in which 8 of those hours you should be sleeping).

An example is waking up at 7am, but waiting until 11am-noon for your first meal, and then having dinner at 6-7pm for your 2nd meal. Other people prefer to eat a breakfast, then a mid-day lunch, and skip dinner.

If you want to throw in a 24, 48, or 72 hour fast just to show off by all mean do so, lol.
