I still drink coffee for that mmmm taste and either put a good chunk of butter or cream (heavy whipping). I wasn't a sweet carb addict but savory so stopping sugar in my coffee was nothing.

Like @Geezy said 1 thing at a time but definitely try heavy cream or butter.

Do what you want but I would first get yourself fully entrenched in this lifestyle before dealing with the caffeine withdrawals.
Many carnivores drink coffee and do just fine on it. Some find that it hinders their progress. So if it’s not causing any issues in you then don’t worry about it for now.

Exactly, one step at a time. If coffee and sugar is the only thing you do outside of an animal based diet, you're already doing really good. I am still working on it myself. Carnivore does not mean 100% animal products. Perfection is the enemy of progress.

I agree with @Geezy that you might not want to do all the things all at once. For me, when I gave up the regular coffee I noticed muscle pain and tightness I had had since I started drinking it in my early twenties went away and come back immediately with just one cup.

I drink 2 pots a day, heavy whipping cream and salt added, besides water I don't know what else to drink, I do not feel like drinking water all day, I got sick of water and now have a hard time drying to drink straight water.

I do notice that I'm no longer getting cramps sense I started adding salt to my coffee.

It's really the caffeine and oxalates you have to worry about when it comes to coffee. Whatever works for you of course. Myself I have switched to half-caf which allows me to enjoy my 3 cups of coffee a day.

I´m drinking coffee again because of the possible health benefits that some say there are. I don´t know if there are any but eg. the keto-friendly doctor Antti Heikkilä recommends coffee for keto in his book. We finns are world record coffee drinkers so there may be bias / addiction in Heikkilä´s opinions, though.

I can easily live without coffee though. I´m doing mostly 0MAD, with two cups of coffee in the morning. I add butter, coconut oil and cream to those cups so no strict 0MAD... but I´m doing well and feeling fine. My only carbs for the day often come from that cream.

I use a percolator to get all the coffee fats. Good or bad? Again,no idea. My pulse or BP don´t react to coffee.

I hereby challenge you as a Dutch person in a coffee drink off, usurper! haha. I do drink my coffee too, with stevia and butter or coconut oil. I will not give that up in the near future. I do limit my intake.

Sorry I can not do that. I can handle two morning cups well but if I end up drinking a few more in the afternoon, I start getting shaky and nervous. When driving I break all speed limits. If at a shooting range, I can´t hit anything. Things like that.

That's when you grab a shotgun 😆

Hahahaha! 🙂

I bought a pound (500 g to be exact) of coffee today, standard but tasty brand. Seven euros. That makes a pretty penny over a year, could buy a new shotgun... culinary coffees cost almost twice that. I´m a hopeless culinarian with no cure.

I may quit coffee altogether, now that it is yet/still not an addiction. Why to keep on building a possible common addiction? I can take my "breakfast fats" without coffee, actually I´m thinking of quitting that habit, too. Just an unnecessary insulin spike there.

Some folks say coffee is good for ketone production and heart.Heart likes ketones yes. My blood meter read 2.60 mmol a week ago so I´m good without coffee, too.

I believe that coffee is good for flavor and caffeine, that's it. The oxalates mitigate any other supposed health benefit. I drink coffee because it's very much a cultural/social thing, and I want to be a rebel.

But NOT drinking coffee would be really rebellious, right?

That’s how I feel in the carnivore community. It seems like that’s the one plant that carnivores are not willing to give up. They will sometimes go to the point of giving up caffeinated coffee and just drink decaf but seriously, what’s the point? People drink coffee for the caffeine. Once they kick the caffeine addiction then they are just drinking it out of habit. Oh, and btw, even decaf has some caffeine in it.
Now I used to be a coffee drinker but early on in my journey I lost my taste for it and switched to tea and about a year ago I decided that I no longer wanted to have anymore addictions in my life controlling me so I gave that up too. For a morning drink I have half a cup of bone broth mixed with half a cup of water heated up to boiling and blended to a froth with a tablespoon of butter.
I should market that as a recipe and call it carnivore coffee.

As a certified rebel in my own little world, I possess the authority to determine who and who is not, a rebel, good sir!

This is true. I think once I start to drink decaf on the regular, that is when I'll consider giving up drinking coffee. On the other hand, it was 15 degrees the other day and it was nice to have a hot drink.

That’s when a cup of hot bone broth with butter in it hits home. Hot, satisfying and nutritious.
