  1. Definitely more normal as eating all that sugar.
  2. I saw this. Glad I only drink water or coffee. I do like his channel.
  3. Absolutely, because it's the most toxic. It's a triple edged sword when it comes to bringing chaos to one body.
  4. I wish I had the patience to conjure up such a majestic dinner. I say that as I am eating fried spam, feeling so much less sophisticated lol.
  5. I am but a simpleton who buys the enchilada powder (has a few carbs) and throw it unceremoniously into by ground beef. Then I eat it without much fanfare. It's why I will and never have been, a "foodie". But that's not a flex, it's my admission of jealousy. I just hate every minute of cooking, a blessing and a curse.
  6. Both very tricky for the mouth micro-biome. Abrasive for teeth (oversimplified, I know). What's bad for the mouth is bad for the stomach. So I'd drink little bits of it and as quick as possible. A straw would help as well.
  7. A toothpaste without the harmful effects of fluoride. My teeth feel much better, smoother. nano-hydroxyapatite is the way to go.
  8. It can even be both.
  9. Exactly. I think it is fine for him to eat what he wants, but he wants to keep his brand as well. Can't have the cake and eat it right? Oh, wait, for him it actually seems to work. I am saying all this not out of hate. I just know that my wife eats like that and she is far from being carnivore, keto, or even low carb. I stress, she is a long distance athlete and has a very fit body and lifestyle. In one of Saladino's videos I saw him put an entire watermelon in the blender and drink it. Made me think of vegans, they seem to use watermelons to remain satiated during the day, and that even there's such thing as "watermelon belly". Saladino may be great for those who are not interested in keto, low-carb, or carnivore. But in my view, he's just rationalizing his addiction. I am aware he gets flack from the zealots out there, and maybe rightfully so, but that ain't my fight. I just like honesty, don't piss on my leg and tell me it rains. Don't tell me your animal based while blending a watermelon. It's just so insincere. Coming from a guy who ate 2 cookies yesterday and call myself carnivore! I fell off in a weak moment lol. Back on track.
  10. Up to a 180 grams of carbs is in my opinion, no longer, an animal based diet. It's not even a low carb diet. Paleo would be a lot closer to what he eats, sort of. It's no longer someone who's in the Keto realm, far removed from what the keto/carnivore space. And all of that is fine. Then why not just say, "I quit the diet and now eat whole foods again". And again, you know I am far from a purist, but advocating high fat, and then those amounts of carbs, is irresponsible. It just Randles me, I mean, rattles me lol.
  11. He always provides a very balanced view. No rhetoric, no dogma, just offers great advice and has tons of clinical experience. He also emphasizes fat intake. Laslty, he acknowledges that carnivore or keto may not be for some, instead a low carb (sub 100gr) approach may be the answer.
  12. I've never considered Saladino an authority on the subject. I do prefer Eric Westman, when it comes to keto/Adkins approach outside of the carnivore spectrum. Also, a "small pre-surf meal" is also a meal. There's insulin response, a degree of inflammatory response. There's no such thing as a snack. So that statement is already a bit disingenuous. It's like when people say; I am doing a avocado fast, or whatever, you're not fasting! You are eating avocado's! lol. Lastly, 180gr of carbs is crazy. That is not even a discussion for me. And then the overconsumption of organ meat... That's just me personally. Carbs are carbs are carbs.
  13. When I had covid everything smelled like diesel, including fresh baked cookies. Before that, I could not smell for 5 months. Back to normal now.
  14. Welcome. I think skepticism is what got most of us into the carnivore diet. You're at the right place.
  15. It all started with that damn apple. It shows how bad fruit really is, they should have eaten the snake!
  16. That awareness becomes a blessing. With my auto-immune disease I quickly figured out what some food did to me. You start looking at food differently, because you have a direct, almost immediate response to it. While normal folk can eat it for years before the health consequences take their toll. Type 2 diabetes, for instance.
  17. I know that channel. I just can't. After yardwork or working out I need that shower. Again, cold(er) water, natural soap (I use goatmilk soap or Bonner's) and keep the showers short. As for the teeth, I find much more validity in that, but again you can use Boca, a fluoride free paste with nano-Hydroxyapatite, a game changer. Also for skin and teeth and overall health I take Iodine.
  18. It's good for blood circulation too. A good mental exercise if it's really cold. Definitely helps with sore muscles and aches, done it for years. Since carnivore I've upped the temperature a bit, with low body fat percentage it got too cold and it's not needed anymore since inflammation is but a rare thing now. But I did notice improvement on my skin. Hot showers stretches the skin, strips away that oily layer that protects your skin. It may lead to inflammation, dryness, even acne, as your skin attempts to replenish those protective oils. So like with the carnivore diet, avoiding is always better than treating. If you find that challenging, start with a cold rinse at the end, and keep the showers short.
  19. I get it. There's so much conflicting information out there. The internet is a double edged sword. Sometimes I read a crappy book, and I see praising reviews, or vice versa. You've got a rash on your leg, and you find out on WebMD you've got but days to live. We're really on our own. A lot of the information is not vetted, and especially when it comes to nutritional science, it is very hard to pin down. A lot of people do not report accurately what they eat, or measure it wrong, etc. And with this partial information they go and display their findings on Reddit. I think what the consensus on this particular forum is, that fat is a friend. Fat is fuel. But again, these are opinions, no more, no less.
  20. Also this. We'll be cheerleaders for anyone who seeks improvement. I think some perspectives have been offered to provide depth in such endeavors.
  21. Running also makes you eat more. Coming from an ex-runner. My former boss, I knew him for six years. He was overweight. He was really tough on himself and did cardio every day for an hour and a half on the treadmill. Over the six years he gained even more weight. Every. Single. Day. The food was more powerful than these huge amount of cardio sessions on a daily basis for years. And I am thinking, what is more boring than eating meat everyday? Doing cardio everyday. Coming from someone who's been working out for 15/20 years.
  22. This. When I hit my "Perfect" weight, boom, eating like normal. But I had days and 1000 calories were enough. But calories are bullshit when on carnivore, because on a SAD you really count your carbs, rather than calories.
