  1. Do you live in a small town? or is this the norm in Sweden? Surely you gotta have plenty of fish, right?
  2. In the very beginning that happened to me. I wasn't concerned as I was feeling fine.
  3. The one thing I've noticed since I started, I haven't been sick over a year. I have no allergies to speak of.
  4. Bigger meals, fattier meat. Chicken and pork rinds should be considered a supplement to a meal. You will figure it out. You're still in a transitional period. This is the time to find out how bad you've eaten all those years lol. Good luck!
  5. Welcome to the crazy house!
  6. In The Netherlands it works like that as well. Lots of vacation, sick days, everything taken care of, but high taxes, etc. That indeed is separate from quality. But within the EU you have regulations that make food safer and better, and there is a cost involved.
  7. Having eating on both sides of the pond, this is absolutely true. Perhaps why the prices differ also.
  8. I consider myself educated, even though my statement was a bit hyperbolic.
  9. I put hotdogs (Frankfurters) in the ham and sausage category, choose with care. My local store has locally made hotdogs, and I can assure you, these are no different than eating a bratwurst, or a good ham. This meat is "processed", as in smoked, cured, etc. Those products can be made at home without needing chemicals or fillers, and has been done for centuries. So me personally, I am not afraid of hotdogs, lunchmeat, or hams, but I choose carefully, with regards to fillers, flavor enhancers, and sugars.
  10. That's what I call a good exercise. Nothing like a Romanian dead lift to pick up a stray piece of cheese.
  11. I think storing food in plastic at room temp or below pose no considerable issue. It's when heat comes to play, leaving that water bottle in the car on a hot sunny day, etc.
  12. I suppose you have a point. And I think anyone with concerns would have silicone as an option. That leaves out the worry about micro plastic, but still, chemicals. What I am saying is, it needs to be considered when one is concerned about cooking with Teflon, aluminium, or even stainless steel. Why switch to cast iron, only to use plastic elsewhere? That said, it is obviously to each their own decision.
  13. There's nothing wrong with using plastic at room temperature or colder. It is when we apply heat where the issue lies. Boiling a plastic bag with meat in it, yeah... hard pass on that. I vacuum seal all my meat (in plastic of course) without losing sleep. But prepping and heating will occur in Pyrex. But having grown up in the 70s, it may already be too late for me lol.
  14. I'd be too worried about the plastics seeping into my meat. Just got rid of all Teflon, and plastic Tupperware and switch to Pyrex.
  15. Keep on rockin' in the free world!
  16. That's addiction and conditioning. It breaks any semblance of resilience and self-discipline.
  17. Then put your goal at 200 lbs. If you're about 6ft you could have an ideal weight between 145 and 185. Re-consider how you view weight, as your body composition will be different, carrying a lot less water for instance. IF you're overweight, I would not stress about it too much until you start to feel hungry, tired, or weak. Weight is a mere part of the equation, in fact it's a mere consequence. I would keep it simple, and worry when needed.
  18. And imagine ever saying these words before going carnivore? Help I am eating too little! That is an unthinkable statement when we eat carbs. I think it is perfectly fine to skip a meal here and there. So long as you don't feel weak, or tired.
  19. Yeah, we haven't gotten any better terms yet, I do the same thing.
  20. You may have conflated tracking macros and counting calories here. Obviously, tracking protein or carbs for that matter is by weight. Calories on the other hand, those are a mere estimate that can lead one to failure and discouragement. It does make me wonder why we measure food in the US not by weight but by cups, spoons, and other kitchen utensils. Do I smell a conspiracy here?
