  1. Are you actively losing weight currently? Body fat is stored triglyceride. As you lose weight, this dissolves and enters into the bloodstream to be used as energy. How long were you water-only fasted before your blood draw? You want to fast for at least 12-14 hours. It is also ideal NOT to test first thing in the morning or within the first few hours of waking up, as there will be triglyceride carryover from the meal the night before. Other recommendations are to eliminate coffee, which you have. Double-check everything for potential carb creep, which it sounds like you are. And to cut out refined/liquid/concentrated forms of fat. Drop bulletproof coffee, oils, fat shakes, fat bombs, etc. Move toward as much fat from real food sources as possible. Triglycerides are energy, so in general we can look at it as an energy surplus. The question then is where is the surplus coming from? If it's from dissolving body fat, well this isn't a bad thing. As you thin out and become weight stable, the trig levels should return to baseline. If it's from your liver manufacturing them, then it's from carbohydrates, high protein, or possibly even overeating. And then in super rare circumstances, there is an underlying medical condition. For example, I have Chronic Kidney Disease, which I detail in these videos... High Tryglcyerides on a Carnivore Diet Chronic Kidney Disease and the Carnivore Diet
  2. Humans were meant to eat, an all-natural protein and fat-based diet that is essentially devoid of anything that mankind and Big Food corporations have created. I have come to learn that all their ultra-processed junk is really the source of all our health issues today, and more people need to hear this. I now talk to people all the time who struggle with weight loss and who struggle with their health. They are looking for solutions and want answers that actually work. And I am firmly convinced this particular way of eating can go a long way a long way in resolving most if not all of a person's issues, depending on what those may be. 3. When I was laid up with a broken ankle I was on a carnivore diet. My blood pressure came down, my ulcerative colitis vanished, my gums stopped bleeding, and my skin tags stopped trying to grow back. I had been clean keto since April 1st and carnivore since May 12th, and now by the end of June, I’m a believer. I’m convinced now and I continued the carnivore diet faithfully. 4. I lost weight sitting in a recliner and eating meat. I was unable to do anything else for 6 weeks because I had broken my ankle. But with the carnivore diet, not being able to exercise was not an issue whatsoever. 5. Man, it was a bad day for you, lol 😄 I've found myself in similar situations. I just try to have enough to stave off the hunger and not over indulge, and get back on track again as soon as I am near real food again 🙂
  6. When I cut out dairy, I will have loose stools. The cheese helps keep things the consistency I desire. I'm not sure why. The rule of thumb is to add more fat to loosen things up, and to back off the fat to stiffen things up. While that seems to be true of excess butter or ghee, cheese is a little bit of a savior for me.

  8. Yes it was. And thanks for everyone who attended. This means a bonus entry goes to... @Orweller @setsuko @mauricette @Marilda Tuomala @Qapla @Meathead and @Joanna
  9. Since this is only day 8, this could still be your body adjusting. If you continue to have persistent headaches day after day then we might want to check your blood pressure and revisit this issue. It was a string of headaches that led me to the doctor that diagnosed me with high blood pressure, but this was all before carnivore. That's where your 2 kidneys actually fused together as one. Do you have that?
  10. I refused a kidney biopsy when I heard about the risks. Diet and nutrition is where you have to not only start, but also end. A lot of what the mainstream teaches is simply not true and is making us sick. And I am not saying there is any conspiracy, per se, it's just that the wrong information has been repeated so much that it is just assumed it must be right. But hey, the earth was flat once, and doctors used to use leaches to suck out your bad blood for just about everything. We've come a long way, but still have a ways to go. You want to eat a carnivore-centric diet, that is, one that is meat heavy - and we're talking fatty meat. Fat is your friend. Avoid grains, refined sugar, and seed oils like your life depends on it. Some people can make allowances for fruits and vegetables, but I would recommend that you eventually make it a goal to do at least 30 days, preferably 90 days, as a strict carnivore - no plants - as an elimination diet to maximize your results. Afterwards, if you want to add certain select low carb veggies or fruits back in slowly and one at a time to see how they affect you, well that's your prerogative. But many of us choose to stay this way, or mostly this way, forever, because the health improvements we enjoy are tremendous!
  11. I do need to publish and update to this video. In the video, I talked about how I was prescribed fenobibrate and it helped reduce my triglycerides. But I found out, the hard way, that it also causes kidney damage - which I cannot afford because I am stage 4 already. While fenobribrate might be useful for certain individuals, if you have high triglycerides due to some degree of renal failure, I would warn you to be very cautious in using fenofibrate. If you experience spasms, cramps, esecially at night, stop taking it. And even if not, check your blood MONTHLY.
  12. I had to look it up. I haven't heard of it before, but I can see it's a seasoning blend. We have comparable seasoning blends over here I am sure. Me too. Good stuff 🙂 This is an area that once you start investigating and learning, you might change your mind on salt. Or maybe not. Perhaps you need to keep your salt low. When I was eating the standard American junk diet, I did have to watch my salt intake. But that is because all our food is laden with mass quantities of sodium. Since going carnivore and ceasing to eat fast food and prepared packaged foods, my sodium intake dropped considerably. Now I salt my eggs and my beef generously. In fact, if I skip salt for a meal, I will sufffer from muscle spasms and nighttime leg cramps. But I have a kidney condition that makes it difficult to retain and regulate electrolytes.
  13. I'm sure that's delicious. But for the sake of having success on your health journey you're going to want to nix the bread. 😉 This part we can let slide, but for maximum benefit you may want to work towards removing the plants. The lectins in the tomato or the oxylate in the avocado could be triggering symptoms behind any realized or developing chronic illnesses. At the same time they could be completely harmless for you. But the only way to know for sure is elimination (at least 30, preferably 90 days), documenting how you feel, and then reintroducing it one at a time, also documenting how you feel.
  14. I was just looking over my blood labs history, and my total cholesterol and LDL went way up during my weight loss, but now that I have been weight stable for over a year, both my total cholesterol and LDL have dropped down significantly. All this lends to what I read before, that cholesterol, including LDL, is stored in adipose tissue and gets released into the bloodstream as you dissolve fat.

  17. Welcome Gabe. For those reading, I've known Gabe online for probably 10-15 years now. The carnivore diet can help you reverse your diabetes and a number of other chronic issues. It's an all meat diet (with some allowance for cheese and butter). You may want to transition into it gradually, as any sudden shift in dietary habits will throw your body for a loop. You can do it cold turkey if you like, but be prepared for 1-3 weeks of the "keto flu" as they call it. For starters, eliminate all grain (wheat, bread, crackers, corn, oats, rice, etc), refined sugar (white, brown, powdered, syrups and sugar alcohols, etc), and vegetable seed oils (safflower, canola, sunflower, corn, rice, peanut, etc). You can have fruits and vegetables in the beginning. You can use butter, ghee, tallow, lard, olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil, with a focus on the animal fats. You want at least half your plate filled with fatty red meat, fatty, fish, or eggs, and the other half can be low carb veggies - for now. Eventually you will decrease the veg portion until they are all gone for good. Have you had your A1C checked lately? Or how about a Renal Panel? Tell us about your insulin and other meds. Some medications you need to wean off slowly and not just stop taking abruptly, so we want to know what they are and why they were prescribed before suggesting you to stop taking any of them.

  19. I'm currently listening to "The Great Cholesterol Myth" in Audible. It's a fantastic publication, and would address your concerns. Here is a recent study on "The Lipid Energy Model", which demonstrates that LDL goes up on a low-carb diet, especially if you are lean. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9147253/
  20. Hey @Scott F. - How's everybody doing?

  22. Awesome! Welcome aboard! I look forward to hearing about your results. I would think you should see improvements in both. Inflammation should go down. And for me and many others, our brain fog lifted and we can continue to think pretty clearly unless we deviate from the diet. Welcome to the new normal. Seriously, don't get to concerned about this. On carnivore, you will poop less. Almost every part of the animal products you consume are digested and used by the body. The vitamins, minerals, fat, and the protein. There is very little waste. I go on average of 2 or 3 times a week now. During the transition phase, it's definitely alarming because you are probably used to going at least once, maybe even more, each day. For my first 3-4 weeks, my bowels were unpredictable. It would either be solid gravel, or liquid explosion. But I even went 9 full days without having to go. I would even have these phantom urges to go sit down and then nothing would happen. This is common, especially if you didn't slowly wean yourself into the diet but switched rather abruptly. Everything will still work, and things will return to your "new normal" before long.
  23. By posting in this topic. That post counts as an entry. Each subsequent reply in this particular topic will also count as an entry. Joining on on Monday night's video call will also count as an entry 😉 But the overall goal here is to make friends, lose weight, and/or feel great. In that respect we can all be a winner
  24. I'm going to have to do some deeper research before buying one then, because my stovetop is electric.
  25. This is just a silly video I put together when I was at the Canfield fair in Canfield, Ohio. I had been on the carnivore diet for the last 6 months and was admittedly thinking about the animals in a new light now, lol.
