  1. Most of us do some spices occasionally and it’s no big deal as long as your body tolerates them. Some people react to some seasonings and spices. When I first went Carni I was very strict with everything because I needed to heal my metabolism so I only used salt and white pepper. I found that the longer I went without the seasonings and the longer I ate carnivore the better my food started tasting. After a year I started using some seasonings but on a limited basis but for the most part all I really want these days is just salt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Another good one from Dr. Tony Hampton.
  3. Agreed. I’ve seen this guy and if he can go that long without a shower then I’m pretty shut he doesn’t work for a living or has a farm. [emoji1787] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I get what you’re saying but in Genesis I find nothing where God sanctioned the eating of animals until after the flood. After the creation of man and land animals on day six of the Creation week, God instructed Adam saying, “I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food” (Genesis 1:29). There is no record of God telling Adam and Eve that they could butcher cows or smoke chickens, but He did authorize them to eat the seeds and fruits of plants and trees. In the very next chapter of Genesis, it is recorded where God told Adam that he could eat “of every tree of the garden” (except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil—2:16-17). Notice that nothing is said here about animals—only vegetation. Then again, in Genesis 3, when God sentenced Adam and Eve to a life outside of the Garden of Eden, He said: “And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground” (3:18-19). Three times in the first three chapters of the Bible, God instructed man regarding his diet. Each time, the Bible records only where God permitted man to eat vegetation (some of which could be made into bread—3:19). The Bible nowhere mentions man receiving permission from God to eat any kind of animal until after the Flood. It was then that God said: And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs (Genesis 9:1-3, emp. added). Just as God had authorized mankind to eat “green herbs” many centuries earlier, after the Flood, God gave His permission for mankind to eat “all things”—including all animals that move on the Earth and swim in the sea. 5. True. They add a liquid smoke. You can buy it in the store and use it for roasts and stuff but I don’t know what’s in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I never tried that with bacon and I can see where liver would definitely stink up the place. I don’t think the bacon smell would bother me though. [emoji39] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. It’s all about progress not perfection. Taking small steps will still get you there. Eliminating the grains is a good first step and I don’t know if I’d call it so much cheating as just taking a break. After all you are eating whole foods and not junk so that ain’t bad. There may come a time when you decide that those foods provide no nutritional benefit to you and decide to stop but until then do what works best for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Wow,[emoji50] talk about getting your fat macros. That’ll do it. Sounds tasty too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. He actually did this a long time ago. I subscribe to him and get emails from him regularly. He no longer called himself carnivore but instead meat based. And he’s right, he’s not carnivore but many of his carnivore principles are sound. The difference between what you have experienced and what Salidino experienced was the time frame. Paul had been carnivore for a long time whereas you have only been doing this for a short time. What you were experiencing was what most of us go through in the beginning. Many call it keto flu or the adaptation phase and it’s perfectly normal as our bodies adjust but once we become fat adapted things generally level off. Unfortunately a lot of people experience those issues in the beginning and quit because they just don’t understand that the body must adapt. I like Paul but I think he’s off base in telling people that they all need to eat the way he does. Everyone is different and processes Their food differently so what works for him won’t work for everyone, especially me. No way I could eat like he does. Pure carnivore works great for me and I won’t be changing anytime soon.
  11. We see this all of the time. Usually it’s a woman. Women have a harder time losing weight due to their hormones. Until their metabolisms are fixed they can have hormonal imbalances that can affect their weight loss. A Utube influencer, Kelly Hogan, didn’t lose weight for six months but she was in it to heal and since she was seeing improvement she stuck with it and after six months started losing. Take a look at her now. Skinny as a rail. Many people are impatient and start posting about their failures after only a week or two on carnivore. They often have higher expectations than reality allows. Then there’s the ones who don’t really understand how this WOE works. Have never done their research and then do it wrong not understanding the bodies mechanism's in relation to fat and weight loss. Some won’t get off the dairy and eat it like a meal. Thats almost a guarantee for failure. Then there are those that just aren’t honest with themselves. They say they’re eating carnivore but they continually eat outside of their diet and kicking themselves out of ketosis. Other than just naturally hitting a plateau like we all do, there is generally a good reason why but it’s not the carnivore diet itself but an underlying factor. I try to encourage people to reexamine their diet anytime they say they can’t lose on carnivore. Sometimes it may be that they are doing everything right but just need more time. Each body is different and reacts differently to carnivore so we can’t compare ourselves to anyone else. We are each on our own journey. Some people may need to do something like a fast to get things kick started. It pays to experiment sometimes but I think everyone needs to be more patient and give it time to heal their metabolism before doing too much. In this microwave generation we are used to instant gratification. Food hot and ready in a minute. Information as quick as you can click on a keyboard. Packages ordered at our the next day. Lol! No wonder we expect instant weight loss but us old timers come from a time where it took 30-45 minutes to heat up leftovers. If we wanted to learn something we had to go look it up in the encyclopedia or take a trip to the library. When we mail ordered something we had to wait 6-8 weeks to get it. By the time it arrived we had forgot we even ordered it. lol. I guess that’s why us old folks have more patience than the younger folks. We had no choice but to be patient.
  12. You process the science and the concept of the whole carnivore diet right there.
  13. Wish I could find clean kielbasa in my area.
  14. Sounds logical but when you butcher an animal it’s easy to see the fat. Then, prior to the flood all of mankind was vegetarian. We didn’t start eating meat until after the flood or at least there’s no mention of eating meat until then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. And this is how we learn. It’s good that you recognize it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I have done the research and contacted the company and Mac’s are fried in their own fat. They are clean. There are others that are as well but I can’t remember which ones. Since Mac’s are readily available to me locally, I have not needed to look further. I guess pork rinds and cracklins are pretty much a southern thing so they may be harder to find up north. 17. No pics today because we went out to eat. My wife and daughter wanted to meet up for lunch at a cafe in town. It was a little early for me being at 11:00 am but I went ahead and ordered ala cart. 4 eggs, two ham slices and six rashers of bacon. Of course the eggs were probably cooked in seed oils but I’ll live. It wasn’t a very satisfying meal so later this afternoon I ate some chuck roast swimming in fat. That did the trick. 18. Congratulations on putting down the booze. That is one of the very few things I’ve never become addicted to and back in the day I practically lived at the bar and I spent seven years working in bars as a bouncer. If I wasn’t working I was drinking. It was a way of life. Heck, I measured mileage on how many beers it took me to get to my destination. My dad was a functioning alcoholic ( after serving in three wars who wouldn’t be) but I had no trouble putting it down whenever I felt the need to. Since I became a carnivore I’ve just lost interest in it altogether. I had a sip of Jameson about a month ago and just dint have the desire to drink it. The lobster and crab look great. Have you ever tried smoking your lobster? I smoked some Caribbean lobsters a couple of months ago and they were great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That sounds like an extensive program you have there just on your hair and scalp. I cured my dandruff that I’ve had ever since I first grew hair longer than 1/16th of an inch so that’s been about 55 years. I’ve had to use progressively stronger dandruff shampoos over the years until I was using the strongest there was OTC. I’ve been dandruff free for a year now. In the last month I was read about how chemicals in our soaps and shampoos can affect us and so I started experimenting with my hair. I stopped shampooing it every day and went one week without washing it. Every night I’d just rinse my hair under the shower and vigorously massage my scalp. After my hair dries I can’t see any difference in my hair between shampoo washing and just plain water. Now I’m on a soft water system that’s also filtered of impurities so maybe that’s the difference. So this time I’m going to go two weeks and see how it works out. I’m on day nine now and my hair still looks and feels great and so does my scalp. 650 days ago I couldn’t have gone two days without scrubbing my hair with dandruff shampoo or I’d be going nuts. 20. He does a much better job of explaining it than I can. This is what I’ve experienced and what most carnivore experts believe too.
  21. That’s fantastic Scott. I really like how you said that getting fat was your decision. Owning up to it is the first step to change. Congratulations man, you are quite the inspiration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Well I’m over a month now with no dairy and while I think I’ve it whooped a little twinge still crops up now and then. I finished a fresh batch of my homemade yogurt today and it my was extremely temping to dive it but I was able to resist without too much trouble. I keep thinking that I want to make an omelet until I realize that oh, yeah, I don’t eat cheese anymore. So I think it’s not so much a craving anymore but a habit and a remembrance of how much I like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I don’t get the boring thing. I’ve never gotten bored eating this way but I think it’s because I do cook a lot of different meats in a lot of different ways so I’ve got a lot of variety. We are only limited by our imagination. I’m an old fart so the whole dating scene these days is nuts but I can tell you this, there is no woman worth me wrecking my health over. My bride and I have been together for 42 years but I wouldn’t change my diet for her or anyone else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah just keep that heat turned down to as slow a simmer as you can. You could also pressure cook it but I don’t think it renders as well that way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
