  1. Congratulations on the improvements. Many often come into this lifestyle with expectations set way too high. Becoming metabolically sick didn’t happen overnight and healing won’t happen overnight either. It takes time. Some things longer than another. It’s often recommended that we don’t even get a blood test until we’ve been doing carnivore for at least a year. I think you are on the right track in your thinking. 2. Nothing fancy today. Just pan fried some venison stew meat in tallow and a couple slices of carni bread with lots of butter. Felt kinda primal not being creative. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Probably not a coincidence. I’ve had dandruff ever since I first grew my hair out in 68. I had always gotten a butch haircut but I was going into junior high and thought it was time to grow my hair out. Anyways, after 56 years I no longer have dandruff and mine was bad. I had to use the most powerful commercial dandruff shampoo available and I had to use it every day. Well a few months back I went on a long motorcycle ride down to New Orleans with some buddies and didn’t take my shampoo. After four days I noticed that my scalp didn’t itch and there were no flakes. I haven’t used dandruff shampoo since. My dandruff is gone. It makes sense. Dandruff is a skin disease and skin diseases are an autoimmune disease that are brought on by inflammation and are cured by reducing that inflammation through carnivore. 4. Welcome aboard. You’ve been carnivore for almost as long I’ve been carnivore. I starting in may of 23. Last winter my wife wanted some of my venison my venison chili and I thought “what the heck, this is an elimination diet so let’s see if my chili is tolerable.” I had one small bowl. No onions, no cheese, no Fritos or corn bread. Even just plain it was delicious so I had another small bowl. Well I was miserable for the next three days. Well that is eliminated now. 5. I don’t see where there might be a correlation between the palpitations and the beer. This far into carnivore I also don’t see a correlation with the diet. Quite often when something out of the ordinary starts happening the first thing they look at is the diet and yes, early on I could very well be the diet but at six months in I doubt it. That’s generally the time frame when we start seeing some really good healing. From what you have described I would look at the electrolytes. I don’t know what your your taking or how much but you could be throwing you system out of balance. Like many of us when I first became a carnivore I stated taking electrolytes because everyone was saying that we needed to because on carnivore we would be flushing them out of our system. Well I’m my case a blood test, after a year on carnivore, showed that my sodium levels were too low, even though I salt my food fairly heavy and it was part of my daily supplement. Then on top of that the blood test showed my potassium levels were too high. High as in dangerously high especially for someone with a heart condition. So I stopped taking my electrolyte supplement and just upped my salt intake. Six weeks later my numbers were back to normal. I’m now a believer that if we are eating a proper carnivore diet then we shouldn’t need to supplement our electrolytes unless we are working on a specific issue. I took some electrolytes today because I knew I was going to be out in the hot Texas sun most of the day working on fence so I figured I could use the extra juice yo get me through the day and I believe it helped. And lastly I believe you should go see a doctor and get checked out. Get a blood panel done. An EKG and a general exam. You could be developing heart condition such as atrial fibrillation which is what I’ve got but carnivore has really helped mine. One final note. I’m usually a big proponent of being honest with our doctors and letting them know that we are carnivores but in your case I wouldn’t tell him or her just yet because I wouldn’t want to prejudice the exam. Good luck and let us know how things work out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I weigh daily just to see the fluctuations and look for trends. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. rpavich you are doing great. You are really starting to get into the groove. It only gets better from here. One cautionary note though, while yoghurt is good and I make my own it can also be addictive. The lactose in dairy is just another sugar and can sneak up on you. I love my homemade yoghurt but I had to stop eating it for a couple of months because I found myself craving it after every meal. I can eat it again but I now will only eat it once a week. If you don’t find that it’s affecting you that way then carry on. You’re doing great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Sounds like you’re doing great. The problem I find with ground meat is that even if you have a high fat ratio and I like a 70/30, most of the fat cooks out of it so I pour the rendered fat over the burger or add lots of butter to it. Something you might try with the leaner is cut up some bacon into small pieces and mix it into the burger. It’s pretty tasty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. As Scott said it is very individualistic. Great post btw Scott. At two months in you could still be transitioning so hang in there. You may need to keep a daily journal and start experimenting. Try upping your fat to protein ratio. I don’t know what yours is presently but I would go to getting 80% of my calories from fat and only 20% from protein. Eat that way for at least 2 or three weeks and see how you feel. If that isn’t working the change up the ratio to a 70/30 or even a 60/40 and see what happens. Just make sure you keep track of what your eating in your journal for reference and make sure you give each stage enough time to show results. If your not seeing any change then do the same thing with your sodium and electrolytes. Keep track of your adjustments and give each one time to show results. At least a couple of weeks each time. Then start tracking the foods you eat. Cut one out for several weeks or even a month and see what happens. Some people don’t do well on pork or chicken. Some meats, even though the may be from ruminants may affect you adversely such as ground beef. It can have histamines that you may be sensitive to. Some people may not do as well on lamb or goat as others do. Then again you may just need to give it more time. So find what works for you and document each stage and definitely give each one enough time to show results before moving on to the next one. Oh, and only make one change at a time. Good d luck to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I rarely track and then only to verify my fat to protein ratios The one I use is Carb Manager. It is free but I believe it also has a premium service but I’m not positive about that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I haven’t experienced this but I’ve heard it often and from the testimonies of our fellow members it’s pretty common. Pigs and chicken are monogastric animals so they don’t ferment their foods during digestion like ruminants do. So what ever they eat affects their meat in ways that can be intolerant to us. The old saying applies to them “you are what you eat”. Then there’s the omega 6 ratio being higher that the omega 3 ratio in them which makes the less healthy for us and definitely less satiating when eaten. That’s my only problem with pork or chicken is I just don’t get satiated when eating them so I have to add a lot of butter to them. Many people find that they do much better on ruminants. This being an elimination diet you just discovered something that you should probably eliminate. I just hope I never experience an aversion to pork. I’d hate to have to give up spare ribs and bacon. 12. You are doing great and I’m so happy you are already seeing benefits. It only gets better. Keep up the good work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Todays meal was a burger roll. It consisted of venison burger, chorizo, Black Forest ham, Munster cheese and pepper jack cheese and salt. All rolled up and then rolled again with bacon around it. Tuned out pretty good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. 120g egg white protein powder (1 1/2 cups) 1/2 tsp cream of tartar 1/2 tsp redmond real salt 1/4 cup allulose 1 1/2 cups of water 20g whole egg powder (3 tablespoons) Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Gently whisk together the egg white protein powder, cream of tartar, salt and allulose in a stand mixer. On low speed slowly add in the water. Gradually increase the speed. Mix on full speed for 5 minutes. Reduce speed to low and add in the whole egg powder a bit at a time and mix just until combined and no lumps are left. Spread the batter into a loaf pan that is lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes (reduce cook time to 33 minutes if making 2 mini loaves). Remove the bread from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Remove from pan and allow to rest on a wire rack until completely cool to the touch. Slice and enjoy. It is kinda dry but tastes good and looks like bread. You don’t have to use the Allulose if you don’t want to but the bread won’t brown up as nice. My next batch I will shave some frozen butter into the batter and see if that makes it less dry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I’m absolutely interested and would really enjoy being a part of a study like that but I’m certainly not going to pay someone to use me in a study. That doesn’t make any sense to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Good read. I wish it were so in my case though. I haven’t had any fiber in 454 days now and I deal with chronic constipation. I’ve gotten into the fiber debate a couple of times and each time I just state that fiber isn’t a vital nutrient and please show me the RCT’s proving that fiber is necessary for optimal gut health. 18. Robert, you are an addict. An addict must abstain from their drug of choice. It don matter if it’s alcohol, heroin, tobacco or sugar. I once quit dipping snuff for two years but I though just one dip wouldn’t hurt. Bam! I was hooked all over again. It was nine years before I tried quitting again. I’ve been clean of tobacco for 18 years now but I know that I can never allow tobacco in any form ever touch me again or I’ll be hooked all over again There’s no such thing as moderation. An alcoholic can’t just have a beer. A heroin addict can’t just smoke a joint. You are a sugar addict so you should abstain from not just sugar but everything that’s sweet including all artificial sweeteners and milk products. Be aware that there are 75 different names for sugar so read your food labels carefully for those hidden sugars. There are those who are not addicts and can moderate but if you can’t then you must stay away from it. I can drink one beer and not touch another one for several years. It doesn’t bother me but I’m not an alcoholic. I just choose not to drink anything that is loaded with carbs. Make your choice what is best for you and your health. My choice was no sweeteners whatsoever. I don’t need the temptation. If you’ll give it at least 30 days I think you could kick the addiction. I’ve heard some do it in two weeks. Who’s stronger, you or the sugar? [emoji2955] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It’s normal to have diarrhea the beginning of carnivore Bossman. Mine lasted 30 days. It’s mostly due to your gut biome trying to change over to only digesting meat vs carbs and your liver hasn’t been able to excrete enough bile to keep up with the higher fat intake. Speaking of fat, I would say that a pound of bacon, while delicious and easy to eat, is too much for one meal. That definitely isn’t going to help your bowels this early in the diet. Give yourself time to become fat adapted before taking on that much fat in one setting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Mustard is made from a seed. Seeds are not carnivore and neither are pickles btw. But, as far as condiments go, yellow mustard isn’t all that bad. I thing I read somewhere that the vinegar helps to cut down the toxins in the seed. Same with pickles. Now what type of mustard are we talking about? Yellow isn’t too bad but grey pompon has sugar in it as well as many brown mustards which are my favorites. I will use a little yellow mustard on my hamburger once in awhile but I don’t make a habit of it. When it comes to eating things like mustards or pickles these are just personal choices that each of us has to make. It all boils down to what you want out of this way of eating and what you’re willing to do to achieve it. Every once in awhile I’ll eat some jalapeño slices on my burger and the other night we had crawfish stuffed jalapeño poppers but these are only treats that we have on occasion. Now bear in mind, I’m on maintenance mode. I’ve lost all the weight I intend to loose so from here on it’s all about staying in optimal health for me. I can afford a treat once in awhile. Try to remember that this is and elimination diet so you eliminate the things that hurt your health or cause you to gain weight or stall out. If you can use a little mustard or eat a pickle on occasion and it doesn’t affect you in any way and it makes you happy then I wouldn’t worry about it but I would still do it sparingly. I try to look at food as just nutrition and not pleasure. It’s for fuel not fun. So when I look at something to eat I ask myself, is that going to provide nutrition and fuel to my body? If the answer is no then I don’t eat it but I still enjoy my food and I want it to taste good so if a little mustard or a jalapeño slice can enhance it then I’ll indulge. 21. As it has been mentioned before, we don’t look at this as a religion but as a healthy was of eating that heals our bodies. I know plenty of healthy people who eat carnivore just because it is the optimal human diet whether you care to believe it or not and yes, there have been many studies that prove that. You don’t have to have an “irrational/emotional and or religious approach” to a healthy way of eating . You just have to have the desire to be healthy. It’s really quite simple. And no, carnivores don’t act anything like vegans. Lol! You see, unlike vegans we don’t care one bit if anyone else eats the way we do. All we do is give out testimonies on what this lifestyle has done for us and are willing to help anyone how chooses to try it for themselves. I along with everyone else on this forum has had very valuable this to say to you but you chose not to listen to anything. I’m sorry you got your feelings hurt by my honesty with you but all I was doing was telling you just exactly what you wanted to hear and that was that you should quit carnivore. It’s just not for everyone and it’s obviously not for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Bacon and egg sandwich And then Liverwurst sandwich. All on carnivore bread of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Bulletproof tea is the same as bulletproof coffee. One cup hot beverage of your choice. One tablespoon of butter. One tablespoon of MCT oil. Blend in a blender or nutrabullet for 30 seconds. I’ve quit drinking tea so my morning cup is half a cup of bone broth. Half a cup of water mixed together. Heated to boiling then I add the butter and oil and blend it all together. 24. I didn’t season it at all. It was some pork belly left over from making liverwurst so I just sliced it and fried it up. I put a little salt on it after it was cooked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hey there Bossman, welcome aboard. Wow, that’s quite a journey you’ve had. You’ve been through a lot. You we able to persevere what you went through and you showed you can put in the work so I believe you can do this with the right mindset. You need to be focused on winning. Your mindset must be that you cannot fail. Eat fatty meat, emphasize the fat, use salt as needed and drink water. Eat when you are hungry and eat until are comfortably full. Keep it simple and you’ll be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
