  1. That could be a possibility. Our body’s can think they are in starvation mode and slow down. It is widely believed that increasing our fat intake can help. Personally I’m not of fan of trying tricks to kickstart weight loss. I believe in just letting the body do its thing naturally. After all, you are losing weight so what’s the rush? If you are eating properly the just let it ride. This is a marathon, not a race. Now that’s just how I feel about it and what’s good for me may not be what’s best for thee. Have you tried a long fast? I’ve seen where that has turned on something in some people to get things moving in the right direction. Another thing I just thought of is Priming. Have you heard of that? Check out Bella’s video on it and see if it might appeal to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. That can certainly happen. It happens to many of us. In my case it’s part attitude and part necessity. My attitude is that I don’t want anything in my body that doesn’t provide nutrition and fuel for it. In my mind it’s just a waste of time and stomach space to put fillers in it when I could put real food in it. The necessity part comes in because after abstaining from the poisonous non food items my body has lost the tolerance it once had and now those things will cause me to feel sick or cause inflammation. I don’t miss any of those items.
  3. I’m just of the mindset that if it does not provide any nutrition for my body then I don’t need to eat it. I eat for fuel and not pleasure. That’s just me though and I judge no one for how they eat. I tried a glass of wine when I was about nine months into carnivore and my stomach was upset for several days. I have no desire to put anything in my body that it wants to reject. I find it amazing how much my body has changed and how sensitive it is to the poisons it used to tolerate. 4. That’s too bad about the bear. My bear, what little I got to eat, was pretty good but it was fresh within a couple of hours of being killed. It’s nice that you feel that it’s rude to not eat what’s been served but I don’t see my health as being a breach of etiquette. If I had an allergy to shellfish and my host served shrimp it wouldn’t be rude to politely decline something that would harm you. I feel that way about my health. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. There is an app called carb manager that is very popular. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. According to Dr. Berry and I agree. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I just hope it’s more user friendly for me. I like Tapatalk because it’s so easy to use and all of the posted I’m subscribed to show up as unread and are posted for me to see in the unread column. With the web version it doesn’t always show me what’s unread and I miss a lot of posts. The advantage of the web version is I can do more things on it that I can’t do on Tapatalk such as muti quotes. 8. I agree. It’s poison in more ways than one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I do not count anything. Carnivore is so simple even a caveman can do it. (See what I did there?[emoji13]) I just eat fat and meat until I’m completely full and I only eat when I’m hungry. The only thing I kept track of was my weight and my measurements. It’s worked well for me and many carnivores before me. I don’t have much of an analytical mind but for those who do it can be a fun thing to do. Keep a journal so you can refer to it to help you track trends. There is no way for any of us to determine your calorie intake. I personally don’t believe in calories because they are only a measurement of something burned and we do not burn our food so I believe it to be a useless metric. But if you want to measure your food that way you’ll just have to experiment. Set a goal for what you think will be a good starting point, let’s say 1700 calories. Strive for that daily and keep track of what your body does each day in your journal. Adjust from there as you feel you need to. I think a better metric, if you must crunch numbers, is to eat by weight. 1 gm of fat and 1 gm of protein for every pound of your ideal body weight and then adjust as needed for the results you want. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. I’m willing to give it a shot. Especially if Tapatalk bites the dust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That is weird. A carnivores worst nightmare. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That’s a new one on me. Just a quick search came up with this. Sodium erythorbate has little to no nutritional benefit. Although most aren't affected by consumption of the additive, it has been linked with allergic reactions, gout-like symptoms, and kidney stones (in those with a past history of kidney stones). I have no idea if this is true or not. If you have been eating it and have had no ill effects then I wouldn’t bee too concerned but if you aren’t sure about it then find some bacon that doesn’t have it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’ve been thinking about one of those weighted vests but I don’t know if my prosthetic hip could handle it. I wasn’t able to get a workout in today, just too danged busy but I’ll definitely get my walk in mañana. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Cool. My scalp feels so much better when I go a week or two without shampooing it. Once I shampoo it it takes a couple of days before it starts feeling good again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Spot on man. CFS is a staple of Texas cuisine. Try it with catfish too, it’s great. Add some cream cheese to your cream to thicken it up done or try this steak sauce. It’s fantastic. Recipe The BEST Steak Sauce INGREDIENTS 1 cup unsalted butter (2 Sticks of butter)
8 ounces cream cheese

3/4 cup bone or beef broth

Truffle salt to taste INSTRUCTIONS • Heat the butter in a large sauce pot over high heat. Whisk often so the butter doesn't burn on the outside of the pan. The butter will start to bubble and froth up. Whisk often at this point. The butter will start to darken and turn brown. Remove from heat and keep whisking.
 • Add the cream cheese.
 • After a minute, slowly add the broth, truffle salt.
 • Use a stick blender to puree until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning and truffle taste to your liking.
 • Pour into a mason jar. Cover and store in the fridge for up to 7 days. This sauce will thicken a lot overnight. • Serve with your favorite steak! This of course is good with any meat and even makes a good dip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I love reading success stories. Too bad the media feels compelled to toss the snarky little caveats in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. My walk Monday wasn’t too inspiring but the next day I did feel better. I hit the weights yesterday and once the energy kicked in I really got motivated. I put in a pretty good workout. Today I was pleasantly surprised because I expected to be sore as all get out but it’s really not that bad. Just a little stiffness and a small amount of soreness. On my walk this morning I felt like I had more pep in my step and felt like I was standing taller. Tomorrow I’m going to leave the weights alone and just do body exercises.
  19. Very good. Keep up the good work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The strips and breath meters are almost worthless because they are only measuring the excess ketones that are being expelled, not what’s being used in your body. You could have plenty of ketones being used in your body but not any extra and the strips would show almost nothing. Our bodies make all of the glucose we need without adding anymore to it and that can show up on your tests. More so in the mornings if I remember correctly. Eating meat can raise your blood sugar readings as even meat does have carbs in it to a small degree. Add to that, the smoked brisket you bought had a rub on it. What was in the rub? Many restaurants will use sugar based rubs on their meats, especially if it’s pork but they will do it with beef also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I hear you. You just have to do what you can do. Start small and build up to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Walked a mile and a half yesterday. Today I’m fixing to go clean my hunting gear off of my weight bench and lift some weights. Going to be interesting to see how weak I’ve gotten. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Been there done that. You are right. It’s tough but it can be done if you really want to succeed. That’s an excellent idea. The tape is a better metric than the scale. I scale out every day just to track trends but I done rely on it for my progress. The tape is the true metric. You can stay at the same weight but still lose inches. while I was losing I only used the tape measure once a month. It showed more dramatic changes that way. I kept a journal daily as well and it really helped to keep track of what was happening in relation to what I was doing. PERFECT! That’s how you do it. Improvise and overcome. You might also keep some meats cooked up and in the fridge so you can grab a quick bite if you need to suppress a craving. Bacon, sausage, hard boiled eggs, hamburger patties…all good choices.
  24. Dang, that’s rough John. I can’t imagine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Well then that should tell you something…plants are poison. That’s great, progress over perfection. Well this is a high fat dietary lifestyle so that’s good as long as your bowels can handle it. Personally I wouldn’t change a thing as long as it’s working for you That’s also a good thing. Fat is what satiates and satisfies the cravings especially those carb cravings. Just a cautionary warning, setting goals or having expectations can lead to disappointment and discouragement and ultimately quitting. This is not a weight loss diet but a lifestyle of eating that you should do for the rest of your life if you want to maintain optimal health. So try not to worry about achieving goals so much as just focusing on eating properly and let your body heal and let your body do what it’s going to do.
