  1. Lots of lamb today with a twist. Lamb steak, lamb chop and lamb burger Cajun style. I added 6 oz of crawfish tails to the burger and seasoned each patties with a clean Cajun seasoning. I will definitely be doing that again. Delicious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I think that looks like a good mineral supplement to take. Bob will no better than I do but that magnesium is not citrate. That’s important in that the citrate version softens the stool. The magnesium in your supplements may not.
  3. There is no path that requires statins. There is no need to lower your cholesterol. It’s fine where it is and May lower of stabilize as you progress with your diet. As stated earlier, in the beginning you will have a lot of cholesterol running through your veins simply because you have become fat adapted so you are using fat for energy. This will stabilize over time and become the new normal. Cholesterol is not detrimental to your health. You don’t have any need to change your diet to try to lower it. Eat a high fat, moderate protein diet with salt and water and that is the most nutritious way you can eat. If you start eating carbs again you will drop out of ketosis and you will start storing fat again. Yes, your cholesterol may come down some but to what benefit? Seriously, what do you hope to gain from lowering your cholesterol? There is no benefit. The research clearly shows that in people our age, I’m 67, that higher cholesterol is very healthy for us and we live longer than people our age with lower cholesterol. Just like my doctor, your doctor is ignorant. He knows little to nothing about nutrition and human physiology. They are pill pushers who treat everything with a drug when our nutrition is the problem. They treat the symptoms rather that the disease. Do, it’s up to you to treat yourself by eating the proper human diet.
  4. This the one I use. I don’t know if one brand is better than another but I chose this one because it had the cleanest ingredients I could find. Still not perfect though. I know this has been a hard (no pun intended) for you as it has been for me as well. I can truly empathize with what you’re going through. This how I’ve learned to deal with it and maybe someday my system will sort itself out but until then magnesium is my friend. I am presently experimenting with only taking a dose every other day and so far it’s working ok.
  5. Matan I still say to try the magnesium citrate. It certainly helped me. It’s not a perfect solution but it does soften things up. If that doesn’t appeal to you then a natural herbal laxative tea taken every few days may be necessary. I also think butterflies extremely well written post is a very good place to look for solutions and I will be checking these points out myself.
  6. Bacon and egg chafflewichs. Since my new recipe doesn’t have cheese in the waffles then maybe I need to call them paffles because they’re made with pork rinds. 🤔
  7. Hamburgers and hotdogs? Yes and no. Minced beef definitely comes from Germany. In fact hamburger steak and steak tartare come from Germany as well but the act of placing a minced beef patty between two buns or rolls is generally considered an American invention. But there is a lot of controversy over who was the first. I personally stand loyal with Texas and claim that the hamburger sandwich was invented by a fellow in Athens Texas but I can’t remember his name…Fletcher? Maybe? The hotdog as a sausage is of course German as it was called a Vienna sausage if I’m not mistaken but again, America gets the credit for putting the sausage in a bun and creating the hotdog. What’s funny is the ethnic foods that are completely American even though they are associated with other countries. Can you name a few? I’ll give you a clue with two countries, Italy and China.
  8. It’s far better than the alternative of chips and a coke for sure. Just be aware that those dogs may have cereal fillers, soy and sugar in them. A few now and then won’t hurt you though unless you’re very sensitive to that stuff.
  9. Yes you can but there is no need to be on statins for any reason. Unless maybe you’ve already had a heart attack. In that case they may provide some benefit but not much. The side effects far outweigh any benefit that you may achieve. The most you will get out of taking a statin is 3-5 days, yes I typed that correctly, 3-5 days of extended life. The side effects last as long as you are taking them and can cause permanent harm. Absolutely! In fact, if you are on them you should get off of them as soon as possible. I was on them for years until I learned the truth and I quit them immediately. It’s quite possible that some of my issues may have been directly related to my taking of statins. Sure, plenty of people. If I’m remembering correctly (I’m old so who knows) Dr. Ken Berry is over 300. Stop looking at the overall cholesterol. It’s not important. LDL cholesterol is an essential building block if our bodies and is a good thing. The only markers you need to focus on is the HDL to Triglyceride ratio. If you want to break it down further you could have a CAC test run on you and see what your score is and maybe get a profile done on your LDL particle size. Those are much better indicators. Yeah, eat 12 Oreo cookies a day. Guaranteed it will lower your cholesterol better and fast than a statin will. No joke, it’s true. Look, there is no reason, unless there is something totally out of wack (like Bob has) for you to be concerned about your elevation cholesterol. You can test it three times throughout the day and get different results. Stress with cause it to change. The fact that your eating carnivore will cause your liver to release more cholesterol for your body’s energy source. It perfectly normal. At one time we were all brainwashed to believe that high cholesterol and high fat was killing us but the truth is, they were killing us with their lies. My total cholesterol at my last test four months ago was 299. I don’t care. There is plenty of evidence to show that at my age especially, I’m going to out live someone who has low cholesterol, on a statin and eats a low fat diet. Just Keep Calm and Carni On. Check out these videos from a heart surgeon and go down the rabbit holes studying him and others like him.
  10. Yeah, what Bob said. Most of us have higher cholesterol while on carnivore including me, especially in the beginning. The reason as Bob already explained. I heard one doctor say ( I’m not sure but it may have been Dr. Berry) that you should get a blood test before you start carnivore and then wait a year as it can take a year or more to start stabilizing. I did one ate the six month mark and mine was high and my doc wants me on a statin but that ain’t happening because I know the truth about statins. I also know the truth about cholesterol so I’m not the least bit concerned as long as my HDL to Triglycerides ratio is good, which mine are. Modern medicine has been brainwashed by false studies disguised as science and by the pharmaceutical industry to push a false narrative on cholesterol for profit.
  11. I get on Reddit once in awhile but it’s got too many keyboard warriors on there for my tastes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. They are like miniature lobsters that are boiled in a very spicy Cajun seasoned water. They are great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I’ve heard great things about beef bacon. I haven’t found any locally but the next time I’m at one of my butcher shops I’m going to ask them about it. I’ll check out your source as well. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. While I didn’t experienced joint pain in the beginning I suppose it could be oxalate dumping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yes I know and no I didn’t need to google it. I love corned beef. My mother used to fix corned beef and cabbage quite often. I have used a corned beef and cabbage stew recipe from Alton Brown that is great. Not to spoil the trivia but it’s a salty kernel indeed that makes the beef so good. While I have no use for the cabbage anymore I could do some serious damage the a whole corned beef by itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Welcome Luis. If I may make a suggestion, while coconut oil is less bad than a seed oil, it’s still not the healthiest choice. If you would like to optimize your carnivore diet you might want to try using an animal fat such as tallow, lard, bacon grease, butter, ghee or duck fat. These would help you in becoming better fat adapted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Good deal Eric. Welcome. This WOE is not about weight so your slender profile should not have anything to do with this diet. It’s all about becoming metabolically healthy. That and it’s just the way we should all eat anyways. IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yes it is even if it isn’t Irish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Mud bugs y’all. Just might have come close to eating my weight in these things today. Love these, like crawfish crack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Grilled chicken with a side of butter. Bacon and eggs. Hamburger patties, naked. Some convenience stores with have boiled or pickled eggs. You can also stop in a grocery store and get some cheese, clean sausage or lunch meat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Carnivore nachos. Venison chorizo, sharp cheddar and plain pork rinds. Man, I love these things. I ate two of these platters today. Probably too much cheese but we’ll see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. It’s really not that hard. 1 gram of protein will not be the same size as 1 gram of fat. A 1-1 ratio should give you a calorie ratio of 70% - 30% or even a 80% - 20% protein to fat. Generally a well marbled ribeye will have the correct ratio you are looking for. Cooking everything in animal fats along with well marbled meats will usually suffice. For leaner cuts such as chicken or filets and some pork you can easily add butter to up the fat ratio. There are apps that you can use to calculate all of your micro’s that will give you a better idea of how to recognize the proper ratio visually. I used one for awhile to see if I was on the right track and it showed me I was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. That’s fantastic. Congratulations. I’m in the same boat as you with family and friends. Many in my family know that carnivore is the truth and the way but they aren’t willing to give up their “fun” foods. I get it. They don’t have the medical issues that I have that drove me to carnivore. If your body feels good, you feel good so you have this false sense of security that makes you think you’re healthy. Then there’s the ones who see your progress but think it’s just a faze you’re going through and know that eventually you’ll be back to your old ways and they will have the smug satisfaction that they were right. They are wrong of course but they will never let go of that smugness unless they experience what I’ve gone through. Then there are those who just don’t care. They are old and even though they are in bad health and pain they figure it’s just part of being old. They just can’t understand or even try to understand that we are correct when they’ve been brought up eating carbs and doctors telling them it’s healthy. Even when the proof is standing right before them they just can’t believe it to be true. One elderly woman whom we take care of and is morbidly obese, had several small strokes and has countless health issues, is weak and in pain told me “I’ve only got so many more days left so I just want to enjoy those last days enjoying my food.” I get it but then again I don’t understand it.
