Nearly finished with my first month. Can honestly say I have not cheated once!  I’m down 14 pounds.  Today was my second OMAD and I have to say, I get pretty hungry before the 24 hours is up.  I’ve been hitting the gym daily.

Congratulations on your one month anniversary. It only gets better from here.

Thanks for taking the time share your journey and encourage me on mine. I read all the time people saying they don’t feel hungry.  I’m feeling hunger pains 5 or 6 hours after eating and I don’t know why. It may be habit as you mentioned.  I drink extra water when they hit and that helps for a while. My energy level isn’t where I think it should be yet though.

I have to concur with Scott. OMAD is one of those things that just come naturally. If it doesn’t with you then don’t force it. No reason to.
Generally if we get hungry it’s our body telling us we need fuel. In that case eat. But is it really hunger or just an empty belly? I’ve discovered there is a difference.
The conventional wisdom among the carnivore community is if you are getting hungry that soon then you aren’t eating enough. Now that could be fat, protein or both. You may need to experiment to find out.
Who knows, you may be one of those that just needs a lot of fuel. A high metabolism can do that.

It sounds like you are doing great so far so you might just keep doing what you’re doing as long as you’re getting good results.

If you ever get gout, which I hope you won´t,you will stop laughing at that.

It completely invalidizes you, being not able to walk or even stand up. Or sleep for that matter.

i mean, we can't compare a big toe ache with gout, that's a bit of a long shot.

And yeah, even tho i know sadly well what it means to not being able to walk, fortunately i didn't get to ever experiance gout.

To be honest gout sounds quite like a miserable condition, i'm not looking forward to experiance it.

january is almost over and i'm about 15lb up. 🥂 I'm considering to go OMAD cause even tho I feel the need for some extra nutrition, i also feel i can't digest two fully carnivore meals a day and i get heart burn. in which moments of the day do you guys eat? In the case of a carnivore diet OMAD feels more natural to me, but i just cannot eat a 2.5/3lb of meat in a single meal

I start my morning with a half a cup of bone broth mixed with half a cup of water, heated up and blended with a tablespoon of butter. So I guess you could say that’s actually a first meal so technically not OMAD but I never count it as a meal.
I will only eat again when I get hungry and that may be anytime between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm or 1300 hrs for those overseas. If I’m busy or not at home I find it real easy to ignore the hunger until I can get home or slow down enough to fix something. That’s the thing I love about carnivore is that hunger doesn’t control me like it used to. I don’t equate an empty belly with hunger. Hunger is that desire or urge to eat because my body needs fuel.
When I do eat , I eat enough to completely satisfy me and it holds me till the next day.
I can easily put away two pounds of meat.

I'm along the same lines with Geezy except I can't eat that much at one time, well better said, I'm way full and satisfied long before that amount. A month or so ago I started eating two times per day to hit a protein per pound target. When I eat protein/nutrient dense foods it is still a lot for me to eat, even over two meals. This is another one of the both amazing and individualistic things about carnivore. 10 months ago I could add up everything I eat in a day now and eat that much two or three times a day and at certain times during the day I would be 'hungry'.

This week I have cut back to just eating when I am hungry which will be OMAD or some days slightly less. I have had off and on diarrhea the last week or so and the only thing that has changed is the amounts of food trying to hit that protein target. I will go a week or so like this and maybe ease back into the protein chase once my stomach/gut get back in check.

My metabolism must be in low gear. LOL

I am sure this quote is from Nemo.

I responded to that post.

I also think it's all in jest, as I know very well what it is like to not walk. Fortunately never had gout, sounds painful.

Ooops, yes it was Nemo....I don´t know why my quote went wrong... my bad!

I don't do OMAD. Can't shovel it all in, in one meal. 2 or 3 meals a day.

It was a good month. Great to start this by going away with my daughter and grandkids. We were all very strict for the three weeks we were together. Now into the real world to continue!
