I started the Carnivore diet just about three days ago and so far its pretty good once i got over the Keto flu. My cravings for carbs is down from before and am beginning to feel more energetic. I lost a lot of weight on the Keto diet a few years ago, got off track and gained quite a few pounds back. I began the Carnivore diet weighing in at about 178lbs. My goal is to get to about 155 lbs.

I am not a 100% strict Carnivore, but use herbs, spices, and cheeses, eggs and butter in my cooking in addition to anything else that might enhance the flavor [ e.g. a couple whole garlic cloves added to a stew before cooking and removed after cooking] without adding carbs except in trace amounts < 1g. I have cooked for decades and am a good cook and I am good at figuring out my own recipies. And although Carnivore cooking is quite restrictive, the thing i want to explore as a Carnivore Chef is using minimal amounts of herbs and spices along with the vast variety of cheeses out there in the world to enhance the flavors of carnivore cuisine and make awesome tasting carnivore meals. My reasoning is that herbs, spices, flavorful cheeses, and aromatics are the only way i can see to enhance flavors in the Carnivore diet without comprimising its core function of better health and wellbeing.

I plan on posting my own recipies in the recipe section. f you are looking for more carnivore diet recipies with the parameters that i listed above, please keep checking the recipe section, as I plan on posting there frequently. I made a meal last evening, it was so delicious and satisfying. Blue Cheese Beef Stew. I will post the recipe there as soon as i get it written up.

I have been straight meats for the first 12-13 months of my 14-months on carnivore. last month I had BBQ chicken and the week before I ate a leftover steak that had steak sauce.

I use salt liberally but hardly ever use pepper.

I am sure the recipes will go over very well as variety/fighting the boredom of just meats is a big thing for a lot of people.

The Carnivore Police might stop by to make sure you are following the "rules". LOL

Welcome and look forward to something new.

Hi, started carnivore this week and down 6 pounds. I am starting to understand how this works. I am binge watching videos online all week to listen to experts and other seasoned people that have been doing carnivore. I made it through the week at work and home. I did not let anyone know so I would not be sabotaged by naysayers while trying this out and no one even noticed. 🙂 I felt energized all week except for one day a little nausea🤕. I am putting electrolyte drops in my water. So glad to find a community that supports this for this will help me to stay on track, learn and get the support I need to keep going. I look forward to making new carnivore friends. Now I am off to see what the rules are to make sure I don't over step.

Congrats and welcome. This is a great place to read, learn and share your experiences.

In a sense, there are no rules, just you. Once you figure out what works best for you and those become your rules.

In a gist, stay hydrated which can include salts and electrolytes. From there it is more of an elimination diet. The positivity comes from as much what you will not be eating, from there, it is higher fats and moderate proteins.

Getting your medical degree from the Youtube College of Medicine also helps. LOL
