We think of seasonings as be benign or army worst something that may trigger an autoimmune issue but besides that just be aware that those seasonings have carbs. So keep that in mind if you are trying to be zero carb and especially if you are dealing with a plateau.

Between the 4 that I rotate I'm lucky to use a Tbsp/week combined.

Altho I really like a heavy dash of oregano on my beef right before it rests.

I'm using only salt and on occasion some black pepper. I was never a big 'seasonings guy' prior to so this one is a 'no biggie' for me.

Baby back ribs are the only thing that I purposely used spices/rubs. I grew up where 'once you got past the "meat, the heat with salt and pepper, you were living above your raisings".

A couple night ago I smoked some baby backs on my son's pellet grill. I put salt on my rack and for my wife I made the same basic rub I have made for years. Brown sugar, sugar, pepper, salt and paprika.

I did lick my fingers after cutting them up and going without sugar for a stretch makes sugar 'way sweeter' than I remembered. The rub off the ribs was more like candy than anything.

Sugar can be powerful (and addictive).
