  1. I know several people in Africa. Most of them are through forums like this one. One of my friends who used to live here in Ohio now serves as a missionary in Botswana. I don't know of any specific programs outside of programs designed for refugees and others seeking asylum or legal immigration into the United States, which is where I happen to live.
  2. So for starters, don't worry about that occasional macadamia nut or avocado. Those are harmless in small quantities and certainly hasn't done anything to derail your efforts. They were still keto so you're good, and they were back out of your system in no time. That averages 5+ lbs per month, which is actually really good. Oftentimes we see a fast initial drop due to shedding water weight because you're depleting all your carbHYDRATE stores, and then it slows down to 1-2 lbs a week. Sometimes we hit plateaus where the scale doesn't move, but healing or body recomposition is taking place. Weight loss resumes after a while. You have to keep doing what you are doing. I would not call it a "stall" unless you haven't seen the scale budge in 3 months. In the meantime, let carnivore become your identity. This is your lifestyle now. You only eat animal products. What times do you eat? What time to you go to bed and wake up? And are you undereating? Intermittent fasting is a great idea. If I could, every day I would eat at noon and then again at 7pm. I go to bed at midnight (I am up past my bedtime tonight, lol). I try to make sure I don't eat within 4 hours of going to sleep, and that I don't eat immediately upon waking up (typically 7-8am). Sometimes circumstances are that I eat breakfast and dinner but skip lunch. I aim for around 2000-2500 calories, split between 2 meals. My thinking is to take the amount I would normally have eaten across 3 meals, and eat the same amount between 2 meals. In other words, these 2 meals are a little larger than before because I am taking half my 3rd meal and redistributing it to those other 2 meals. I am trying to avoid routinely undereating. It's okay to under eat or fast from time to time, but when you make it a habit, your body will adapt and slow down your metabolism because it thinks there's a shortage or famine. You can also test some things on yourself. For example, try eliminating the heavy cream (or any other dairy) for a week or two. Remember milk, by design, is intended to add bulk to a young calf. If you are using any kind of artificial sweetener, it could be triggering a cephalic phase insulin response. This happens to some people even with diet drinks, so avoid such diet drinks throughout the day and only have them with a meal (which is going to trigger an insulin response anyway). And then like Scott said, you can test different fat:protein ratios, and aim to get quality sleep. A lot of maintenance is done while you are asleep. And then when you wake up, go empty and weight yourself then as this will be the most accurate, before you start adding the weight of food and drink (and clothing).
  3. My emotional stability is one of my favorite 'non-scale victories' of being a carnivore. I used to not just have the brain fog, but also depression, negative thinking, reading too much negativity into something innocent and benign my wife or others might have said to me, etc. I'm a much clearer thinker today and am no longer quick to impugn bad motives to what others say. I realize now that much of the misunderstanding was really on my end. It's awesome to have the support of a team player :) Keep doing what you're doing!
  4. Awesome! Welcome aboard and congratulations on the results you've achieved. It looks like you do some heavy lifting, which I really need to incorporate into my own life. I need to take advantage of all this protein consumption, lol :)
  5. I have not noticed any "life-changing" effects of grounding. I do make an effort to go outside in my bare feet when the weather permits. It's easy peasy to do in the summer because I have a pool out back so I am bare foot all the time. But now cooler weather is setting in with winter just around the corner so it will likely be months before I do any grounding again. By comparison, my diet was very life-changing and very obvious.
  6. "Health authorities are currently pushing for anti-cholesterol drugs to be added to the public water supply." Source: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22779765/ This pubmed article is from 2012. Apparently there was a big push to add statins to our drinking water, in the same vein as fluoride, back then. And then if you search the web, apparently this topic gets revisited from time to time. Scary stuff. This would be awful!

  8. I have no idea. I looked it up. Some of the minerals come from red algae grown in a pond near Iceland, which sounded weird, lol
  9. Awesome! I'm curious what you were taking before and what you switched to. I've taken LMNT and SALTTY before, as well as Keto Chow's Daily Minerals. But I have to watch my potassium because of my kidneys which is why I only salt to taste and occasionally take a low dose magnesium.
  10. This is a fantastic illustration! I can relate to both of these statements concerning brain fog and no longer walking into a room and forgetting why I went in there. Gosh I used to hate that, and I'm glad that is gone now. I'm not sure if I sleep better. I sleep in 2 phases. However, I always wake up refreshed and ready for action. No longer do I dread getting out of bed, dragging myself to the coffee pot, and after getting at least two 16oz cups in me I would finally resolve to get dressed and go do my obigatory work outside the home. These days I'm up and ready in no time.

  15. Those are results worth cherishing. I too used to have breakdowns, low self-esteem, depression, and more. All of that is long gone now and it's pretty darn cool to be able to go about life with confidence and focus. Hard to say. Like @Geezy asked, what is your age? He gives some very good suggestions. I personally do okay with dairy, but a lot of people struggle with it, to the tune of 80% I believe. I also personally quit coffee and it really made a difference in me healthwise. I can't say for sure quitting it helped me mentally though. I do still drink tea and caffeinated diet sodas. Caffeine is a plant defense toxin and were all probably better to try and drop it. Honestly all of that looks good to me. Remember to include ground beef. All the benefits you might get from a ribeye you are getting in equal portions in some 72/27 or 80/20 ground beef. I would also say keep at it. Time, plus good nutrition, heals wounds. You've reached the 90 day mark and feel amazing. You could still see steady improvements as you hit day 180, or even day 365, etc. Keep up the good work!
  16. I take prescription Vascepa for my triglycerides, which is a purified and overhyped fish oil pill containing only the EPA and none of the DHA. I'm not really convinced it's better than a typical fish oil or krill oil capsule. I do believe that if I ate more seafood I probably would get the same benefits as the supplement. I've never looked into collagen supplementation.
  17. Sounds like you may have solved the issue. When I think of jitters, I think of muscle spasms, and spasms can often signal an electrolyte imbalance. I used to take a prescription drug that really messed with my electrolyte balance. I had muscle spasms all the time and cramps that would wake me up in the night. I could combat that by drinking and LMNT right before going to bed. Since then I have dropped the prescription med and I don't often need electrolyes anymore. I just salt my food to taste, and sometimes I will take a 60mg magnesium complex capsule at bedtime.
  18. This is a recording of Dr. Kiltz 6am Livestream with Robert Angle (Carnivore Talk) where they discuss late stage renal disease while on a carnivore diet. Robert Angle has severe chronic kidney disease, which can be diagnosed as Stage 5 CKD or as borderline Stage 4/5 CKD depending on various metrics and labs analyzed. Despite mainstream recommendations to avoid protein consumption and eat a plant based diet, Robert has chosen to utilize a plant-free carnivore diet to halt his CKD progression. 22. I used to not care for blue cheese. But now I enjoy it as a garnish. Blue cheese burgers are quite tasty. Dr. Berry has a good common sense perspective on nitrates and nitrites. You make more in your saliva naturally than what you might find in some bacon or a hot dog. People get most of their nitrates and nitrites from plants, which we of course eschew.
  23. That's awesome. Mine is supportive now and won't let me cheat, but back in the beginning it was as if she was out to sabotage me, lol. I think she thought I was nuts because I switched from being that "you have to eat your fruits and vegetables" guy to "I only eat meat", lol. She would get ice cream, cookies, and some of my favorite things and be like "mmmmm..... look at me, I can eat anything I want". 🙄 My response was "So can I. The difference is, I don't wanna eat that" lol.
  24. Awesome! 30 pounds in 30 days alone should be very inspiring and motivational! Now that you have 30 days under your [now looser] belt, you know you can also reach 60 or even better, 90 days, which is what we recommend everyone shoot for. Have you had any NSV's (non-scale victories), such as mental clarity or remission of any chronic symptoms? Or were you generally healthy and just in it for the weight loss?
  25. You know, he can come close to duplicating that flavor profile with some Egg Life Wraps, his choice of steak, chicken, or ground beef, sour cream and cheese, and hey a little lettuce or some salsa isn't going to cost him a toe either. But that flour tortilla, rice, and beans isn't doing him any favors.
