Could You Be Fasting Too Much?
During my devotional yesterday I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to fast as a spiritual remembrance of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ for my sins and then feast in celebration on the day of His rising from the dead to sanctify my salvation.

What Did You Eat Today?
Oh I’m a big time fat eater and I did the magnesium citrate route and it definitely helped but the consistency of the stools were like peanut butter. Not pleasant at all. I switched to a magnesium complex and it was what worked best for me. After about a year everything straitened itself out and I don’t have to take anything any more. Occasionally I’ll get a hard stool but it generally passes easy enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Carnivore provides some hassles
Practicing the 6 P’s of success. Good job. When we do without something for a time that is toxic to us I believe we develop a sensitivity to it. It’s a good deterrent to keep from getting hooked on it again. Have a good ride and keep the dirty side down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello, All
There is no doubt in my mind that you CAN do this as long as you are motivated to succeed. It’s more about the mindset than it is the diet.

Hello, All
Welcome to Carnivore Talk James. We are glad to have you here. I’m a jump right in kinda guy and even though I had a few bowel is in the beginning it was worth it to me. If I had tried to transition slowly I’d have never made it. It’s all or nothing for me. I personally cut out all sweets. They just make your body want more because it senses that sugar hit coming and when it doesn’t happen it just keeps wanting more. It’s my understanding that Allulose is a real sugar but the molecules are so large that the body cannot absorb them so they don’t cause an insulin spike.

Carnivore and fasting
I’m not ginger but I’m very white white boy that’s 75% German and 25% Scandinavian. I’m so white I glow in the dark. Guys at hunting camp thought I was wearing long johns when it was 75° but I was just walking around in my boxers. Lol! I’ve always been a burn and peal kinda guy and had even developed a sun allergy. if I was going to be out in the Texas sun for more than 15 minutes I had better wear sunblock. After about a year on carnivore I noticed that I could stay out in the sun much longer. I might get a little red but it would turn brown overnight. In areas that see sun all of the time like my arms and face I’m not burning anymore. If I expose white skin that normally doesn’t see any sun I will burn if I stay out in it too long but it doesn’t hurt and never blisters or peels and just turned brown. It’s a whole new experience for me. I’ve been taking my shirt off every chance I get these days.

Always Be Ready
15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. (1 Peter 3:15, NASB) In my devotional this morning I came across this parallel of our journey with Christ and our journey with carnivore. We often have people post about family, friends, doctors and strangers who suddenly become leading authority’s on health, nutrition and diet as soon as we mention how we eat. We’ve all experienced this. They come against us telling us how wrong we are and how we are killing ourselves. Take heart my friends. You can defend yourself with confidence with you have the knowledge. I would encourage you to become educated in the how and why’s of this lifestyle so that you can answer with confidence. “sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts”. Know in your heart that what you are doing is right. Knowledge is strength. “always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account”. With your knowledge you will have the confidence to stand boldly and defend your position against all naysayers especially your doctors. “yet with gentleness and reverence; “ That confidence born of knowledge should give you a gentleness of heart wanting to help others to understand and a humility to let it go if they don’t. “keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.” As long as you have the knowledge that you are right then you have the confidence of conscience that can endure any ridicule and they will all be put to shame when they see the results. You are the proof of concept. So continue to learn about this way of eating so that you can defend yourself.

Carnivore and fasting
Yes, it’s my understanding that sunlight coming through the pupils turns on the vitamin D receptors that in turn produce the melatonin that protects our skin from sunburn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What's the most weight you've lost in 24 hours?
Going back through a couple of months of my weight charts it looks like three pounds is about the most I’ve experienced in a 24 hour period. I track my weight every day. I just like to check the trends. The thing I’ve noticed is that my weight can fluctuate from day to day and hour to hour. If it goes up a couple of pounds in the next day or two it’ll be right back down shortly thereafter. It not anything I concern myself with unless it just keeps going up. As light as I am I have the same attitude if my weight starts going down.

Carnivore and fasting
I found that the more the weight came off the more food I needed. As I lost fat I needed more fat to sustain my energy.

Mouth sore and sensitive
All net positives. Use those to your advantage. Eat only when hungry and eat plenty of fat as it is the fat that keeps us satisfied for so long.

How Beef is Fed?
That is true. The color in the meat will be different between the two. That one I haven’t heard before but I would discount it. No grass raised beef will ever grade out to prime. The best you can hope for is choice. Select is still okay. At least it’s not standard, commercial, utility, cutter or canner. The thing is here that all cattle are grass fed for the most part. Some are silage fed most of their lives like what you find in Kansas beef. It’s in the finishing that usually determines the quality of the meat and of course the genetics. Not all beef is created equal. That’s why most dairy cattle go into dog food (canners) and most angus goes on the dinner table. Your beef was only grain fed for 45 days when the minimum is usually 90 days and they get a lot more than just corn. I don’t know what the genetic of your beef was but what breed it was and not having been on grain very long could both be a deciding factor. To start with, dietary fat does not clog arteries. That lie was debunked long ago. The differences between grass finished and grain finished nutritionally are there is a slightly better nutritional profile in grass finished over grain finished and the Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratios are better in grass finished beef over grain finish. This is usually no big deal unless you have some autoimmune disease that is super sensitive to Omega 6’s. Very little effect because all ruminants are able to break down the grains into fat and very little of it passes on to us. It’s the monogastric animals that it can affect us. That is why some people can’t eat pork or chicken. If you aren’t experiencing any side affect then I wouldn’t worry about it. Check out this great video of the Bearded Butchers breaking down a side of grass finished and grain finished. They do a great job of explaining it all.

Best Fish for the Keto Diet: Benefits and Nutritional Values 2025
I’m very picky about my fish. Being a southerner I’m a fried catfish and crappie kinda guy but I know it’s nothing like ocean fish. I like smoked salmon and raw salmon. I only like fresh caught tuna so I go fishing for it myself every couple of years. I’m not a big fan of sardines or mackerel but I think that’s because I always ate them on crackers and that’s the only way I can enjoy them. Trout is good but I get bored with it pretty quick. When I catch trout I like to smoke them and make a did out of them. Halibut is great but since becoming a carnivore I haven’t tried it without it being deed fried. Same with cod.
