  1. I had a similar experience with my primary care doc. He just loved all of the improvements in me and praised my success. I just told him I was very low carb, almost zero, which is the truth because there is some carbs in dairy and eggs. I didn’t use the “C” word. Lol. He told me to keep up the good work but make sure I’m only eating “lean” meats. I just chuckled. I have an appointment coming up for a physical and this time I plan on telling him that I’m carnivore and I hope he puts it in my records so it’s documented. If enough of us do this they may start seeing a trend in how proper nutrition can bring about great health benefits. My cardiologist already knows I’m carnivore and is very pleased with my results. In the last year he has taken me off of all my heart medications and has reduced my visits to once a year. My other cardiologist who performed my ablation is dropping me as a patient because he says I don’t need him anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yes you need to wait it out. You are still very new to this way of eating and your body is still adjusting. It doesn’t happen overnight. There seems to be a lag time between using up the last of your glycogen stores and your body kicking up the ketones for energy. We often call this period the keto flu. There can be a host of other adjustments as well. I’m not sure if just one tablespoon of honey will kick you out of ketosis or not but why bother? It’s not carnivore. It serves no nutritional purpose and will not help you optimize your ketone production. Generally for most people to be in ketosis they need to stay under 50 carbs per day and to be really ketogenic they need to be under 20 a day. But everyone is different and different foods can affect us differently. How many carbs does one tablespoon of honey contain? 17 carbs? Judging by that number I’d say no, it shouldn’t kick you out of ketosis. But then again, is it really necessary in your diet. Your choice of course. The true test is to try it and see what happens. If everything in your diet is pure carnivore except the honey and you find yourself being metabolically healthy and you’re losing weight then you know it’s not an issue for you but if the opposite is true and you’re struggling to lose weight and still having metabolic problems then the honey may very well be the culprit. If it’s important to you then what I would do is give myself the best possible path to success by abstaining from the honey until my have achieved the goals I set out for myself in weight and health and then slowly reintroduce it back in and if there’s no issues then you can keep it in your diet. You may also find that when you reach that point you may no longer have the urge to ever use honey again. Since we are all different we have to find our own paths in this journey and find what works best for us as individuals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Sugar is the biggest and worse addiction in America. It’s so bad because most people don’t even know they are addicted. I drink only water and bone broth and I don’t miss any of those other drinks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. The “ick” phase also known as the keto flu. Lasted in different degrees for me for about 30 days. It’s pretty normal to stop feeling hungry as we progress in this way of eating because what we eat is so satiating. Just make sure you are eating plenty of fat to keep that energy level up. 10. When preparing a piece of meat I like to salt it and then let it dry brine in the fridge overnight. It really helps the meat to absorb the salt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. When I went OMAD it wasn’t a conscious decision it just came natural. A couple of months into my new lifestyle I realized that I was eating by the clock but I wasn’t hungry when I ate. The seemed silly to me so I figured that eating when I was hungry made more sense. That ended up being just once a day. The time that I would eat verified. On the average I would get hungry between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Sometimes it may be around 3:00 pm or even 6:00 pm. The key was just to eat when I was truly hungry. One thing I noticed that there were times when I would get hungry but I’d be too busy to eat but it was easy to ignore and just wait until later when it was more convenient to eat. There have even been times when I just forgot to eat and ended up going on a long term fast. Now with all of that being said I must say that I’m retired so I have more flexibility that most. If I was still working and only OMAD I believe I would just eat when I got home in the evening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I make my own using venison and I coat it in panko pork rinds for a breading and fry it in tallow. I also make a gravy that is 99% carnivore that goes well with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Welcome Steve. You are definitely on the right track to improve your health. You have the right perspective coming into this to heal. I have been carnivore for over 510 days now and in that time my blood pressure has normalized and my cardiologist has taken me off all of my medications. I am pill free for the first time in 6 years. I hope you experience the same results I have. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yes this was heartbreaking to see. Jeff fought so hard yet gave back so much. He is truly an inspiration to me and many others. He is a very courageous man who never gave up and showed the medical community what one can accomplish when they take charge of their own health. May God bless Jeff and welcome him to the Lords table. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. I completely agree. We were half owners of a small herd of bison several years ago. We kept our freezers full for awhile. Never got tired of it. We’ve been thinking of buying a couple to raise for slaughter again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. Yes sir it catches up with all of us in time. That why we see more older people eating carnivore to heal all of the years of abuse. It’s done some miraculous things for me. When I started 511 days ago I was a 66 year old man who felt 86 but now I’m 68 and feel like I’m 48. I knew I’d get old someday but I thought it would take longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Glad you could join us. Welcome. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been carnivorous you will always be learning if you wish to grow. I am now at 510 days and I study nutrition every day and learn something new just about every day. It’s a great journey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
