Finland calling!
Welcome to Carnivore Talk Carburetor. I like the handle. Mixing fuel and air in the right mixture for optimal performance. 👍 Nice ride brother. I’m more of a cruiser/bagger type but I like the sport bikes.

Carnivore diet seems crazy, but…
Not a rant at all, just the truth. If given the option of health and life over sugar and death they will usually take the sugar every time. For many it takes a life changing desperation before they will succumb to the truth. That’s how it was for me. Just like any other type of addict we often have to hit rock bottom before we are willing to change. It’s a crying shame but it’s the truth.

LDL cholesterol high
My doctor is the same but what’s funny is my cardiologist loves what I’m doing and what the diet has done for me. I would be honest with him. We are the randomized control studies that prove this way of eating works. If your doctor thinks that his medication is helping you then he will assume the same thing for the next patient. If you are honest with him then he can monitor your results and see that this works and it just may convince him that this is a viable option to good health.

"World Carnivore Month" January Challenge!
Sure thing. I think it’s listed in the recipe section but I’ll post it here. Recipe The BEST Steak Sauce INGREDIENTS 1 cup unsalted butter (2 Sticks of butter) 8 ounces cream cheese 3/4 cup bone or beef broth Truffle salt to taste INSTRUCTIONS • Heat the butter in a large sauce pot over high heat. Whisk often so the butter doesn't burn on the outside of the pan. The butter will start to bubble and froth up. Whisk often at this point. The butter will start to darken and turn brown. Remove from heat and keep whisking. • Add the cream cheese. • After a minute, slowly add the broth, truffle salt. • Use a stick blender to puree until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning and truffle taste to your liking. • Pour into a mason jar. Cover and store in the fridge for up to 7 days. This sauce will thicken a lot overnight. • Serve with your favorite steak! This of course is good with any meat and even makes a good dip.

"World Carnivore Month" January Challenge!
Have you tried looking up carnivore recipes? There are a huge number of ways to cook carnivore. Chaffles, paffles, pancakes can all be made carnivore and used for buns for hamburgers. Chicken salad, tuna salad, salmon salad can all be carnivore with the right ingredients and you can make sandwiches using the chaffles for the bread. Egg salad sandwiches are good to using the right ingredients. I make a great steak sauce that’s carnivore that’s really good on any meat. You are only limited by your imagination. There are lots of ways to eat carnivore without just eating beef all of the time. Lots of good recipes out there and you can find a few on our forum.

colonoscopy + carnivore
Well we know that our diet produces very little waste so maybe since you were completely cleaned out maybe it’s just going to take some time before yours traverses the whole tract. Even without a colon cleanse it’s not unusual for me to go ten days without a movement and I’ve even gone e fourteen at the longest.

High A1C on Carnivore?
Welcome to Carnivore Talk Yes. I’m glad you chose to join us. Im not well versed on this subject other than what if read but it does seem strange to me that your A1c would be going up after all this time. I know some things that have been reported can cause a rise is, Blood sugar control: Consistently high blood sugar levels increase your A1C levels, while consistently low levels may suggest hypoglycemia. Of course that doesn’t sound like your problem because you have been low carb for a long time but I would definitely go zero carb if there was any question about it. I would also look at how much protein I was eating in regards to my fat ratio because too much protein can supposedly raise glucose levels but there are differences of opinions on that. Diet and exercise: A pure carnivore and regular physical activity can play a significant role in managing your A1C levels. Proper nutrition and exercise help regulate blood sugar levels, leading to better A1C control. Medications and or insulin: The type and dosage of medications or insulin you take can impact your A1C levels. Working closely with your healthcare team to find the right medication regimen is essential for managing A1C effectively. Stress and illness: Stress and certain illnesses can cause temporary spikes in blood sugar levels, leading to higher A1C readings. It’s important to take care of your emotional and physical well-being to maintain stable A1C levels. I hope you get this figured out soon.

Fat Burn Zone
Endurance athletes are starting to discover carnivore and finding that they have more sustainable endurance than before. The study in that article was sounding pretty good until he started taking about the dogs not being able to maintain endurance on a high fat diet but towards the end it all started making sense when he mentioned that some of the fats they were using were seed oils and fruit oils. Yeah, those ain’t fats, they’re oil. Not the same thing and probably the reason for their poor results.

Hey! You northern folks.
Here in Texas we definitely know hot but being from south Texas I’m used to it. Even in my advanced age I can still get out there and work on fence when it 106° in the shade. It'll probably never happen but I’d sure like to visit Down Under someday.

Mc-REALLY?? The Truth About McDonalds Burgers!
I’ve never cared for them. Worst fast food burgers out there in my opinion but of course that’s all subjective. Good thing now is if I’m on the road and hungry I can just stop in and order six patties and they are just like everyone else’s.

Need advice- 3 months on carnivore while breastfeeding
Hey Mama, welcome to Carnivore Talk. We are glad you chose to join us. Everyone else has pretty much covered all the bases so I can’t add much to that but I will offer this…the carnivore diet is individual to each of us. There is no cookie cutter way of eating this WOE. You have to become your own N of 1 and find what works best for you. I would encourage you to go do a search on Utube about pregnancy and breastfeeding while eating carnivore.

Fat Burn Zone
The easiest way to prove the fallacy of the CICO theory is to compare the different between two different foods. Eat 2,000 “calories” of steak and eat 2,000 “calories” of doughnuts and see the effects. I think you’ll find that it’s not “calories” that matter but what those “calories” are made of.

"World Carnivore Month" January Challenge!
Good luck. My daughter is carnivore and is in the process of training her three kids in eating better. She doesn’t want to just go cold turkey with them and still wants them to have treats now and then so she is very meat centric with them and most of the time they only eat whole foods. Their sugars are limited to special treats only just like it used to be. No seed oils are used in her house. During the holidays she did allow them to have some cookies on Christmas Day and some pie after supper but that was it. Grains are very limited as well. She is doing her best to wean them off of the bad stuff a help them learn to desire the good.

He reminds me of the ferryman in the movie The Outlaw Josey Wales. Whistling Dixie when the Rebs show up and Battle Hymn of the Republic when the Yankees arrive.

Weight Training on Carnivore
That would be perfectly normal as with almost every thing if we don’t use it up then our bodies will excrete it out as waste.

Weight Training on Carnivore
From my understanding neoglucogenesis is only an issue if you are a diabetic. Lol, yeah it’s real easy to overthink Tim his way of eating. Sometimes we just need to KCCO. (Keep Calm and Carni On) 😁

why triglycerides high on carnivore?
Audi, do not feel like you are a failure. You are an individual just like we all are and as such you cannot compare yourself to anyone else in this lifestyle. Because we all have different physiology’s this WOE affects us each differently. You have to find your own path. What works for one may not work for another. We see this all of the time. I’m sorry but there just isn’t a cookie cutter approach to this. How does the rest of your blood work look? I think Bob has some knowledge on triglycerides and hopefully he’ll be along soon to give you some input.

why triglycerides high on carnivore?
Welcome Susie. I’m glad you could join us. Triglycerides going up after starting carnivore while rare could be caused by several things. Loss of triglyceride clearance pathways when carbs are restricted Low fiber intake failing to lower triglyceride absorption Too high of intake of saturated fat Weight loss releasing triglycerides from fat cells Underlying conditions like genetics, hypothyroidism, or fatty liver A triglyceride level below 150 mg/dL is considered ideal. Levels between 150-199 mg/dL are borderline high. Having levels between 200-499 mg/dL is considered elevated and higher than 500 mg/dL is very concerning. Some things that you might consider trying is increasing your omega 3 intake Eating more high omega-3 foods like fatty fish, fish roe, oysters, and beef liver can help combat high triglycerides. Omega-3 fats help improve triglycerides, Reducing your intake of saturated fats. Limiting intake of high saturated fat animal foods like pork, lamb, beef ribeye, cheese, and butter may help lower triglyceride levels. I know you’ve already tried this but maybe look at what kind of fats you are eating. Mostly ruminant fat or pork? Try more monounsaturated fats. Focusing on fattier cuts of meat that are high in monounsaturated fat like beef tenderloin, chicken thighs, and salmon can help improve triglycerides. As much as it pains me to say this, maybe add some fiber back in. Although fiber is limited on carnivore, options like chia seeds and avocado can help bind to triglycerides and reduce their absorption. Exercise regularly. Engaging in aerobic exercise and strength training most days of the week can help lower triglyceride levels over time. Losing weight if overweight. Excess weight is tied to high triglycerides. Losing weight through the carnivore diet can lower triglyceride levels. Manage any underlying conditions you may have. Getting conditions like hypothyroidism, diabetes, and fatty liver under control can all help lower excessive triglycerides. If you don’t have any of those you might aught to get checked out to make sure. Lowering your protein intake. Overeating protein can raise triglycerides in some people. Try reducing protein portions if levels remain very elevated. Consider taking a supplement. Like fish oil, berberine, curcumin, and vitamin E may help support healthy triglyceride levels. I hope some of this helps.

Weight Training on Carnivore
3. As you are probably already aware I do not believe in the whole CICO theory. In my opinion and experience the only way you need to eat is to eat when you are hungry and then eat until you are full. No need to count anything. No need to weigh or measure anything. Just eat plenty of animal fat and animal protein. If when you finish a meal and you’re not satisfied yet then eat more until it no longer tastes good. The key thing is getting g enough fat. You do not “burn fat” through cardio or exercise. You burn fat by using ketones for fuel instead of glucose. If you never did any cardio again or ever lifted another weight you would still burn fat and lose weight and inches. By lifting weights you will more than likely gain weight but that would be a good weight because it would be muscle weight. To know whether you are losing fat or not is to keep a journal write down your total body measurements once a month. You will see a difference in size even if you don’t notice any weight loss.

More musings from my morning devotional.
“For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men” (1 Peter 2:15). “In all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, in order that the opponent may be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us” (Titus 2:7-8). Jesus commanded His original disciples and us, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 5:16). More examples of how we should not only conduct ourselves in our Christian walk but in our carnivore lifestyle. Christ commands us to be a good example for His glory. This is also how we should conduct ourselves in our carnivore journey. Be a shining example of what proper nutrition can do in our lives. Just as Christians are constantly under the microscope as people watch for them to stumble so the carb eaters will be watching you to see if you fail. Always be aware that you are an example of the good that carnivore brings. Let the light of good health shine for all to see.
