  2. Todays meal was a burger roll. It consisted of venison burger, chorizo, Black Forest ham, Munster cheese and pepper jack cheese and salt. All rolled up and then rolled again with bacon around it. Tuned out pretty good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. 120g egg white protein powder (1 1/2 cups) 1/2 tsp cream of tartar 1/2 tsp redmond real salt 1/4 cup allulose 1 1/2 cups of water 20g whole egg powder (3 tablespoons) Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Gently whisk together the egg white protein powder, cream of tartar, salt and allulose in a stand mixer. On low speed slowly add in the water. Gradually increase the speed. Mix on full speed for 5 minutes. Reduce speed to low and add in the whole egg powder a bit at a time and mix just until combined and no lumps are left. Spread the batter into a loaf pan that is lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes (reduce cook time to 33 minutes if making 2 mini loaves). Remove the bread from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Remove from pan and allow to rest on a wire rack until completely cool to the touch. Slice and enjoy. It is kinda dry but tastes good and looks like bread. You don’t have to use the Allulose if you don’t want to but the bread won’t brown up as nice. My next batch I will shave some frozen butter into the batter and see if that makes it less dry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I’m absolutely interested and would really enjoy being a part of a study like that but I’m certainly not going to pay someone to use me in a study. That doesn’t make any sense to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Good read. I wish it were so in my case though. I haven’t had any fiber in 454 days now and I deal with chronic constipation. I’ve gotten into the fiber debate a couple of times and each time I just state that fiber isn’t a vital nutrient and please show me the RCT’s proving that fiber is necessary for optimal gut health. 6. Robert, you are an addict. An addict must abstain from their drug of choice. It don matter if it’s alcohol, heroin, tobacco or sugar. I once quit dipping snuff for two years but I though just one dip wouldn’t hurt. Bam! I was hooked all over again. It was nine years before I tried quitting again. I’ve been clean of tobacco for 18 years now but I know that I can never allow tobacco in any form ever touch me again or I’ll be hooked all over again There’s no such thing as moderation. An alcoholic can’t just have a beer. A heroin addict can’t just smoke a joint. You are a sugar addict so you should abstain from not just sugar but everything that’s sweet including all artificial sweeteners and milk products. Be aware that there are 75 different names for sugar so read your food labels carefully for those hidden sugars. There are those who are not addicts and can moderate but if you can’t then you must stay away from it. I can drink one beer and not touch another one for several years. It doesn’t bother me but I’m not an alcoholic. I just choose not to drink anything that is loaded with carbs. Make your choice what is best for you and your health. My choice was no sweeteners whatsoever. I don’t need the temptation. If you’ll give it at least 30 days I think you could kick the addiction. I’ve heard some do it in two weeks. Who’s stronger, you or the sugar? [emoji2955] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. It’s normal to have diarrhea the beginning of carnivore Bossman. Mine lasted 30 days. It’s mostly due to your gut biome trying to change over to only digesting meat vs carbs and your liver hasn’t been able to excrete enough bile to keep up with the higher fat intake. Speaking of fat, I would say that a pound of bacon, while delicious and easy to eat, is too much for one meal. That definitely isn’t going to help your bowels this early in the diet. Give yourself time to become fat adapted before taking on that much fat in one setting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Mustard is made from a seed. Seeds are not carnivore and neither are pickles btw. But, as far as condiments go, yellow mustard isn’t all that bad. I thing I read somewhere that the vinegar helps to cut down the toxins in the seed. Same with pickles. Now what type of mustard are we talking about? Yellow isn’t too bad but grey pompon has sugar in it as well as many brown mustards which are my favorites. I will use a little yellow mustard on my hamburger once in awhile but I don’t make a habit of it. When it comes to eating things like mustards or pickles these are just personal choices that each of us has to make. It all boils down to what you want out of this way of eating and what you’re willing to do to achieve it. Every once in awhile I’ll eat some jalapeño slices on my burger and the other night we had crawfish stuffed jalapeño poppers but these are only treats that we have on occasion. Now bear in mind, I’m on maintenance mode. I’ve lost all the weight I intend to loose so from here on it’s all about staying in optimal health for me. I can afford a treat once in awhile. Try to remember that this is and elimination diet so you eliminate the things that hurt your health or cause you to gain weight or stall out. If you can use a little mustard or eat a pickle on occasion and it doesn’t affect you in any way and it makes you happy then I wouldn’t worry about it but I would still do it sparingly. I try to look at food as just nutrition and not pleasure. It’s for fuel not fun. So when I look at something to eat I ask myself, is that going to provide nutrition and fuel to my body? If the answer is no then I don’t eat it but I still enjoy my food and I want it to taste good so if a little mustard or a jalapeño slice can enhance it then I’ll indulge. 9. As it has been mentioned before, we don’t look at this as a religion but as a healthy was of eating that heals our bodies. I know plenty of healthy people who eat carnivore just because it is the optimal human diet whether you care to believe it or not and yes, there have been many studies that prove that. You don’t have to have an “irrational/emotional and or religious approach” to a healthy way of eating . You just have to have the desire to be healthy. It’s really quite simple. And no, carnivores don’t act anything like vegans. Lol! You see, unlike vegans we don’t care one bit if anyone else eats the way we do. All we do is give out testimonies on what this lifestyle has done for us and are willing to help anyone how chooses to try it for themselves. I along with everyone else on this forum has had very valuable this to say to you but you chose not to listen to anything. I’m sorry you got your feelings hurt by my honesty with you but all I was doing was telling you just exactly what you wanted to hear and that was that you should quit carnivore. It’s just not for everyone and it’s obviously not for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Bacon and egg sandwich And then Liverwurst sandwich. All on carnivore bread of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Bulletproof tea is the same as bulletproof coffee. One cup hot beverage of your choice. One tablespoon of butter. One tablespoon of MCT oil. Blend in a blender or nutrabullet for 30 seconds. I’ve quit drinking tea so my morning cup is half a cup of bone broth. Half a cup of water mixed together. Heated to boiling then I add the butter and oil and blend it all together. 12. I didn’t season it at all. It was some pork belly left over from making liverwurst so I just sliced it and fried it up. I put a little salt on it after it was cooked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hey there Bossman, welcome aboard. Wow, that’s quite a journey you’ve had. You’ve been through a lot. You we able to persevere what you went through and you showed you can put in the work so I believe you can do this with the right mindset. You need to be focused on winning. Your mindset must be that you cannot fail. Eat fatty meat, emphasize the fat, use salt as needed and drink water. Eat when you are hungry and eat until are comfortably full. Keep it simple and you’ll be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ahh but it’s all in how the animal metabolites the plant that matters. Cows do a much better job of metabolizing plants than pigs do. It’s the ruminants vs the mono gastric. I personally don’t consider honey as carnivore because it isn’t meat. Just because it comes from an animal doesn’t mean it’s fit to eat. Manure comes to mind. I won’t judge anyone who uses honey in their diet. It can have medicinal properties but it’s still a sugar and has absolutely no nutritional benefits for my body so I see no need for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yes ma’am and you have the proper attitude and approach to this way of eating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. About 4 ounces of pork belly that was left over from making liverwurst and six eggs (guineas) Then for dessert I had some carnivore bread slathered in butter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I hear you on those 100° days. So yesterday when I was work I the heat and sun all day I thought I was drinking enough water but that night, after about three hour sleep I woke up with a bad leg cramp. Man it felt like a tendon was fixin to snap it was drawing up so bad. I jumped out of bed and started waking it off and guzzling water. Took about 10 minutes to get it to settle down. Now I’m not taking electrolytes anymore but I think on days like that I should probably take some. I tolerate the heat better than most but age is starting to weaken me in that area. I can still weld on fence all day when it’s 106° out but I gotta take a lot more breaks these days v Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well Andre I agree with you. I think you should quit carnivore. It obviously hasn’t done anything for you that you expected it to so give it up and try something else. You came into this with the wrong mindset to begin with and that was to treat this as a weight loss diet. Well it’s not a weight lose diet. In fact it’s not a diet. It’s a lifestyle that promotes proper nutrition and healing for life. It’s a way of healing your metabolism so you can enjoy a healthy life. For those who come into this way of eating looking for a quick fix they are going to be disappointed just like you have been. You started this a fairly healthy person to begin with so you are not as likely to see the wonderful healing benefits that we have enjoyed. You probably have a pretty good metabolism to start with especially if your young. You asked how long you should do this carnivore? You should do it for the rest of your life because it is the most optimal way a human can eat to get the most nutrition but in your case, you are healthy and dissatisfied with your experience so I think you should no longer eat a carnivore diet and go find some other quick fix that suits you better. 19. Welcome Hamburglar. Getting started is an individual thing. I don’t know that there is a best way to start this lifestyle. Some gradually ease into it to help reduce the initial side affects as they transition. Others like myself just jump in feet first and go whole hog. We all eventually make adjustments here and there until we hit the right grove for ourselves. I’ve seen a video with Steak and Butter gal about priming and maybe it works for some people but just because something works for them doesn’t mean it’ll work for you. All you can do is research it and learn how to do it and then try it for yourself. Me? I don’t need gimmicks even if they work. I just eat when I’m hungry which is about once a day. Then I eat fatty meat until I’m full. It’s worked well for me. Never saw a reason to change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Worked so hard in the heat all day yesterday and way under ate. Only had four scrambled eggs. My day started at 6 am and I didn’t come in until 8:30 pm. Just never got hungry and just had so much to do on the place. But when I quit I really felt that lack of nutrition. I was too wiped out to do anything but just shower a go to bed. Today was one of our elderly friends that we care for birthday so we took her to a steak house for lunch so I had a 16 oz ribeye and later on at home I had three hard boiled eggs. 21. Caffeine that is. I was tired of having that one last thing that controlled me (besides the gubment and my wife) and decided when I ran out of tea that would be it, no more. I am drinking a cup of 50/50 bone broth and water with butter an MCT oil blended in for a nice frothy hot drink. Well that was two days ago and I’m starting day three today. It really hasn’t been that bad so far. The first day it seemed to take a couple of hours to get me eyes to pop open but I didn’t have any cravings that I couldn’t handle. Day two it was easier to wake up and didn’t have any noticeable cravings. This morning I’m tired. I woke up this morning at 1:30 am and couldn’t go back to sleep. I’m going to stand strong but I’m really wanting some caffeine right now. On top of that I’ve got to do a bunch of fence work done today as well as a bunch of other stuff. It’s gonna be a rough day but I will “endeavor to persevere”. (Name that movie for bonus points) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yep, fond memories of the past. I still have those. I still have fond memories of past girlfriends but I can’t have those anymore than I can that pizza. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Here’s another thing you could consider as well. On a carnivore diet our red blood cells live longer. Therefore there are more of them running through your veins and this can be why we see an elevated A1C or an elevated cholesterol number because there are more blood cells carrying them around. 24. I watched a video where Mitch on Old Guy Carnivore bout the sodium, magnesium and potassium in bulk and mixed his own. He explains how he came up the proportions he uses. Me personally I stopped taking electrolytes because they were elevating my potassium levels too high which for someone who has a heart condition can get some bad results. I just use plenty of salt and put a little in my water occasionally and I do take a magnesium complex but I just get my potassium from the meat I eat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. It’s hard to say what you May encounter seeing as how we are all different and this affects us all differently. I experienced diarrhea for 30 days and then constipation. I think I’ve got that part of it worked out now. I had a little bit of oxalate dumping in the form of a rash that cropped up several times but it wasn’t a big deal. I had some fatigue for awhile. My cravings weren’t too bad simply because my mindset was one of commitment and of not being willing to fail. Some people experience joint pain, prolonged fatigue, headaches, nausea, pretty much any kind of withdrawal symptoms that any addict goes through. Just stay with a high fat, moderate protein diet. Use salt and drink water and know that it will all pass and you’ll be feeling good in no time. Just because some go through this stuff doesn’t mean you will. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
