  • I'm actually May 6th but time got away from me between nightshift rotations. I was in the ballpark I guess. Congrats to you as well. Scott

Congrats!

About a year and a half here, very low carb "ketovore".

Got rid of statins and allopurinol, I have forgotten about gout altogether. Just had hot wings and wine yesterday.

I have found a good new supplement, carnosine. It lowers my AFIB heart rate from 90+ bpm to 70.

Everything is just better.

Awesome! And happy Carniversary!

It just dawned on me that my 3 year carniversary was May 12th. And @Geezy is May 9th. Fun that we are all May meaties :)

"May Meaties" you might need to copyright that and hopefully there will be someone who does not understand.

I remember just a handful of months ago people were saying they were OMAD and I said, "Not me, I just eat one meal a day". I didn't know it was an actual thing til the red meat pretty much dictated I was hardly ever hungry.

May Meaties just might be a thing.

Congrats to all and especially the "May guys".\

The same to you and Bob.

We all have our favorite (and not so favorite) comments we field when people hear we are eating carnivore and I think I now have a new 'favorite'.

We had a family gathering at the cabin a couple weeks ago and I smoked a couple pork butts. As we gathered and fellowshipped with friends and family it came time to eat. Everyone had made their plates when I made mine and I sat down at a table with a group of my son's friends (same guys I ride SXS in West Virginia). Their plates were loaded down with pork, cowboy beans, potato salad, broccoli salad, snap beans, and such. My plate was just pork.

I think at different times everyone at the gathering said, "Are you still doing carnivore?". But most emphasized, "Are you STILL doing carnivore?".

One combination of guys at the table made me think about things, maybe just people in general. My son turned me onto the carnivore approach and has probably gone carnivore for a month or so several times. Each time losing weight but most importantly after a couple weeks he sleeps better, and which relieves some back issues. Another guy tried it for about two months and lowered his blood sugar to where his medicine was driving him too low and made good strides with his blood pressure. One of the guys has severe anxiety, does not sleep, and everything that happens with him ramps to all out crises. The three months he was on carnivore, out of his mouth, 'the first month must have been adjusting, but the last two months is the best I have felt in as long as I can remember"

Yet, they sat there eating as if there were no links between 'eating and how you feel'.

Part of me wanted to stand up and preach, point out their flawed thinking, point out each of their health issues and remind them of their experience with carnivore. Maybe not, 'hell, fire and brimstone', but I wanted to make the point.

But I didn't.

I told them I hadn't taken any medicine for pain and inflammation in nearly two years. I lost just about 100lbs. I work out 4-5 times per week. I sleep better than I have in forever. My bloodwork is just about spot on in every category. And I feel as good as I have in many, many years.

Maybe I made my point when I said, "That's why I am STILL on carnivore", with slight over pronunciation of STILL.

But after two years, it is now my new favorite response.
