In the past it was a Federal and State law that required me to start every day with a Mountain Dew and Little Debbie snack cake. Either a law or a Cardinal sin to skip them. Not sure.

I'm not the biggest water drinker. As I started, I used the drink mixers to get the water in. I found the Food Lion brand pink lemonade and lemonade shows zero carbs/zero sugars. (knowing there are some hidden sugars in the details).

As of late I have been doing every other, maybe every third bottle with a mixer and the rest water. Tonight, at work I ran out of the Food Lion brand and had some Crytal Light mixers.

I went with grape. I can taste/feel the sugar addictions with the first sip. Craziness.

I'm not exactly hiking up my pants legs offering intimate favors for the next sugar fix but i can see that light way at the end of the tunnel.

Not making light of other addictions. Just making a point.

No, sugar is for sure, one of the top addictions that cripples us, along with the drugs and all. It's as devastating as any other addiction, but the devastation happens within us. Our kidneys and other organs are slowly waning making us ill.

I only drink water, and at one point in my life, I thought I could never utter those words. If you do not drink only water, you're still addicted. Hot take, I know.

While I want to defend myself here, you are right, lol. I have yet to be able to kick artificially sweetened beverages completely. I'm still zero sugar, zero carb, and yes I drink a heck of a lot of plain water each day, but I still enjoy my morning tea, occasional sugar-free lemonade, and a soda from time to time.

I don't disagree. I use a mixer mostly every third or so bottle and maybe sometimes every other bottle when on shift. I have not had a soft drink since May (I am sure Pepsi Co. stock dropped when I stopped the Mountain Dew).

Last night was the first time I "tasted" something with sugar...really sweet since May.

I can see where going back in that direction is really possible.

Luckily after last night I'm not craving another one. It did hit the spot but afterwards it was water thru the night.

I probably thought my first indulgence or slip would be something "better" than a drink mixer. LOL

Sugar is the biggest and worse addiction in America. It’s so bad because most people don’t even know they are addicted.
I drink only water and bone broth and I don’t miss any of those other drinks.

I stopped drinking cola when I drank my bourbon neat. I stopped drinking 4 years ago.

Redbull was a must before any journey over 30 minutes from home.

Once I started carnivore all I have is Redmond real salt in my water, and maybe 3 cups of coffee a day with a tsp of milk.

I no longer need sugar in my life except my wife.

    • "Marching into March with Much Motivation"

For this months challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to get up and move. Spring is in the air. The weather is getting better. Get out there and MOVE! Go for walks, hike some trails if they aren't too muddy. Or just make a goal to get on the treadmill or lift some weights more than usual throughout the month. Get in the habit now, and we just might have beach bodies when summer officially hits, lol.

Just like before, we encourage you to check in daily, and share what you have eaten, perhaps a weigh-in if you're willing, and enjoy in some small talk.

The March drawing will be for a 4-pack of Carnivore Bars!

Every Reply in this topic will count as an entry for this month's prize drawing. Back-to-back posts count as 1 entry as a counter to spamming.

Attending Monday night zoom also counts as a bonus entry. Being a supporter of our YouTube channel also gives you an entry.

    • Today is February 1st and marks the first day of "National Fasting February" - and yes, this is a thing. Google it!

For this month's challenge, we are going to support each other in our efforts to practice various forms of fasting throughout the month. The type of fasting you wish to do is entirely up to you. We are going to encourage INTERMITTENT FASTING, that is to put it simply, skipping a meal so that you are only eating 2 meals a day instead of the traditional 3 meals a day. The goal is to enjoy these meals within an 8 hour "feasting window" and then no food in the remaining 16 hours "fasting window" (in which 8 of those hours you should be sleeping).

An example is waking up at 7am, but waiting until 11am-noon for your first meal, and then having dinner at 6-7pm for your 2nd meal. Other people prefer to eat a breakfast, then a mid-day lunch, and skip dinner.

If you want to throw in a 24, 48, or 72 hour fast just to show off by all mean do so, lol.
