Just started my journey today with bacon and eggs for breakfast, with pot of herbal green tea. Normally it would be bacon egg and two slices of bread, coffee with sugar and maybe a chocolate biscuit...

I'm in my early 60's, have many health issues including inflammation, arthritis and carrying too much weight. Did lose weight a couple of years ago on keto, felt great, but then slipped back into carbs and all went down hill fast! That time however, I didn't have any help or "community" that I could draw on. I hope by joining a forum or two, and getting inspiration, I might stick to a carnivore diet long enough to make me feel so good that I dont want to feel like s--t again.

Thanks.

  • Welcome. I too had a garden.  If one is to give carnivore a chance, at least give it 90 days. It may take that long to get fat adapted and see most of the benefits. I loved my food too, and

  • My major motivation to avoid plant at the moment is the terrible farts that plants cause.

  • When I started carnivore I had a nice garden that I had been cultivating ever since I retired back in 2020. I started out just trying carni for 30 days to see what would happen. I saw enough improveme

Cant see myself going the rest of my life eating nothing but meat, but I really want to get to the bottom of ailments, and to see what its like feeling the best I can.

I'm carnivore most days, most meals. But now that I have reach my goals I don't mind if I find myself in a situation where I dip my toes into ketovore or animal-based on rare occasions. I'm past the point of where I would go on a bender for several weeks and struggle to get back on plan if I had an apple. And I'm glad. I hated being a slave to sugar.

I'm down 7kg now, and I can see and the difference. My daily pain level has dropped significantly. Joints all over are feeling better...fingers, feet/toes etc. I used to rise from resting almost crooked and hobble across the floor. Every day gets easier (carni-food).

That alone should tell you all you need to know of the benefits of eating a proper human diet. It should also tell you of what would happen if you ever go back to eating the way you used to. So you may want to rethink about not eating this way for life because this is a lifestyle not a diet. You will reverse all of your progress if you done maintain it. But…as Bob said and I agree with him, when you get to a maintenance stage and you’ve got the carb addiction licked you can indulge occasionally but you just don’t want to make a habit of it. The only thing I’m allowing into my diet these days is a few jalapeños occasionally and some seasonings.  As long as they don’t affect me I’m fine with them. If you do stick with this long enough you may even get to a point where you just don’t want that other stuff anymore. Many of us come to that point. For me I see no point in eating them because the don’t provide and nutrition. Could I? Yes. Will I? No, there’s no need to. I don’t miss the sweets and carbs one bit.

Great to hear you're reaping benefits from a proper human diet.  Keep this in your mind if you decide to indulge.  Your intake tastes good but at what cost in affecting your health. You may slip up like I did and mistakenly eat something with seed oils and I felt it for 3-4 days after.

Keep up the great work and don't forget where and WHY you started.
