I had the distinct honor and pleasure of being a guest on Dave Mac’s Utube channel No Carb Life. Forgive me for not being a very good speaker but this was the first time to ever do anything like this. It was a lot of fun and Dave is a really nice guy. I thank him for asking me for this interview. Y'all check out his channel and give him a thumbs up and subscribe if you like his content.7 points -

O Lord, lead me in Thy righteousness because of my foes; make Thy way straight before me. There is nothing reliable in what they say; their inward part is destruction itself; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. Hold them guilty, O God . . . for they are rebellious against Thee. But let all who take refuge in Thee be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and mayest Thou shelter them, that those who love Thy name may exult in Thee. For it is Thou who dost bless the righteous man, O LORD, Thou dost surround him with favor as with a shield. —PSALM 5:8-12 I hope and pray that this doesn’t sound blasphemous but when reading this during my devotional I just couldn’t help but apply this to our daily journey as carnivores. It resonates with me in how we deal with those who rail against us in our WOE be it doctors, scientists, family or the general public. I’m afraid this sounds like I’m trying to make this WOE a religion, I’m not, but I constantly find how scriptures constantly apply to us in everything we do. After all the word bible is a wonderful acronym. Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth7 points -

Hello everyone, very glad to be here and find this community. I have been looking into Carnivore for quite a while, pretty much understood what it is a lifestyle. I started last week, so almost a week, and adjusting my eating habits throw-out as I go. I gave up soda and all that 15 years ago, have been drinking lots of water since then. One thing I was doing was having Dunkin donuts coffee bottled mocha. I haven't had one in almost a week, and the cravings for chocolate and coffee are going away. I absolutely love steak, meat all that and with the butter, but I do like salads (not given in to eating the vegetables or lettuce). Just simple, meat, eggs, butter, and water and of course salt. I have been watching Dr Barry, Dr Shawn Baker, Dr letterman, Old Guy Carnivore and much more. For me a lot of this make sense, I love history especially the past, and I know looking back humans did not eat the way we eat today, especially with all the additives and progression of the food industry. I am excited about my new journey, and I already am starting to see some changes, sleep, headaches and most important is my low blood sugar, I usually have to eat every so often, they always tell me always take candy with you in case your busy and it goes down. But I never would I always just run for protein, like a burger, chicken, chicken tenders, or something like that, and of course I felt better, so for me this made sense. I also have an issue with IBS and I have noticed that recently my tummy is much better. Thank you, nice to meet you all. Do you all have a group's that meet up? Melissa7 points

Quick recap. 90+ days in and I stopped pain and inflammation medicine in May. No issues. I lost 54lbs thus far. My daily/across the board energy levels are higher than they have been in a lot of years. I'm getting to the gym and walking on my days off. I noticed sort of early on I was sleeping much better but maybe the big difference is when I wake up it is like a switch. Bam, eyes open ready to go immediately. Which leads to some weirdness. I was in the military and one of the things learned in the military is to sleep when you can. I can remember a 15-minute power nap feeling like an 8-hour snooze fest. You also learned to tune a lot out. I slept in a torpedo room on a nuclear-powered sub and slept thru firing torpedoes. I slept thru Hurricane Fran and walked outside to a different planet. My wife can vacuum in the bedroom, and I won't be bothered. But with that said, since those military days all you have to do is say my name and I pop tall ready to go. Since my 20's I have been able to sleep thru anything except my name. Everything the same after carnivore except we had a dog emergency the other night and my wife was yelling my name from the living room, and I never heard it. She came to the door and did the same/ She said I never flinched. The next night she had to actually touch me to wake me up. I have been sleeping really well since the switch, but I didn't know I was a couple hairs away from a coma. LOL. I am not complaining but do find it weird. Scott7 points

OK, this is too weird, this might be a coincidence but you won’t believe this I’ve had neuropathy in both feet for several years now and no doctor could tell me what’s going on and why it’s happening or how to fix it so I’ve just lived with it. for several years now and no doctor could tell me what’s going on and why it’s happening or how to fix it so I’ve just lived with it. I realized a day or two ago that I could feel my feet, and just now I realized I can feel myself tickle my feet and it makes me jump, the only part that’s really numb now is the toes and they’re not even really that numb. and just now I realized I can feel myself tickle my feet and it makes me jump, the only part that’s really numb now is the toes and they’re not even really that numb. It feels funny to walk because it feels like I’m walking on pillows, I can feel the bottom of my feet now7 points

Love me some corned beef but I’ve never had it from a can. I’m thinking I need to cook one up now. Spent all morning mowing on my father in law’s place then all afternoon cooking. Got a half gallon of yogurt started. That’ll be done tomorrow. Then I started smoking 12 pounds of bacon and a couple of baby back ribs. The bacon is being chilled for slicing tomorrow and the ribs were fantastic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk7 points

So I went grocery shopping with my son in law today. The selections were limited but very satisfying. And after a long day it was time to eat. Striper breaded in pork rind panko and fried in tallow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk7 points

Well, at last, my partner has decided to join me and that has helped tremendously. I have been about 80% carnivore for ages but 'treated' myself to a weekly bottle of red wine and bar of chocolate. We've been 'clean' for 10 days now. At the moment, recipes have gone out the window. I just cook things like chicken thighs with the skin on, hard-boiled, eggs, and a sort of ground beef pie with eggs and seasonings with cheese on top. We just take a portion and eat it cold or microwave it. I also do other things like pork steaks, beef steaks, and salmon. We've always sat down around the table for family meals but that's kind of gone at the moment with my daughter cooking her carby meals for herself and my partner and I eating when we are hungry. I bought sardines today. Couldn't find them in brine so had to settle for olive oil. I'm definitely feeling better day-by-day.7 points

Today is 7 months since I started Carnivore. This morning, I tipped the scales at 223lbs which is 83lbs less than 7 months ago. I have not taken pain medicine nor inflammation medicine since late May/early June. I have Neuromyelitis Spectrum Disorder (basically Multiple Sclerosis but attacks the optic nerves). Other than a couple bouts with some bath room issues, I have only positives. The last month I have bounced around 76-79lbs lost. During that same time I dropped pant size for 40 to 38. Lost inches with pounds basically remaining the same. My weight loss has been erratic yet consistent, if that makes sense. The first thirty pounds came off pretty much a pound a day but from there it has been drops, mini-stalls/stabilize, then drops. I was on 79 a couple different time last week and week before but never actually touching 80. 4lb drop from yesterday til today. No change in diet, actually eating more as of late. At 55 I'm increasing the work in the gym and hoping to build some muscle/off set age related muscle loss as well as knowing it is the best defense against the muscle issues with NMO/SD. 7 months and I have pretty much nothing but positives. So much so, my wife is starting tomorrow. I am hoping this is the biggest positive yet. Scott6 points

Hi! I'm Amber. I have been on various low carb diets before with quite a bit of success, but in all of those successes, it was when I severely limited even veggies that I found myself feeling the best. So, after gaining all and more back, I decided maybe adding all of those "safe carbs" back was a bad idea, and it was a gateway to definitely NOT safe carbs that I started craving! My first week I had some decent headaches, but only one migraine day and I consider that an absolute success. It has become obvious to me in the last couple years that sugar greatly exacerbates my migraines. I am doing classic carnivore, so meats, dairy, and some spices, coffee, and tea. I am going to try to slowly wean myself off of those extras. I have cut many of the spices already. I weightlift 3 times a week, full body. I have been doing that for years off and on, so I am not adding any extra exercise. I also hike with a backpack with my husband on some weekends. I joined a forum because it seems that I do the best when I can actually read other peoples' trials and successes and interact with people doing the same thing, and I don't think the forums on My Fitness Pal go any further than keto. Thanks for reading!6 points

Just found the site and glad to be here. I went Carnivore ~27 months ago and it has been a true miracle for me. I was on SSRIs, and later SSRIs and Adderall, for 42 years. 42 YEARS!!! I've been off all since starting the Carnivore life and my depression and anxiety have been healed. I thank God. Amazing. Incredible. Since then I've also quit smoking/vaping (43 years) and lost 33 lbs and life has just been really good. I look forward to learning more and meeting my fellow Carneys! God bless you all.6 points -
I have been on the diet 90 days as of today. I had some immunoglobulin blood work done earlier in the week and the results just posted. My Immunoglobulin A numbers were still high at 388 (signs of infection and inflammation from an underlying illness) and my IM m numbers were low (51) which is actually improved from May. I have had nothing but the positives of the carnivore diet the first 90 days so there are zero complaints. I thought i would see a better number on the 'infections and inflammation' IMG a because I have not had to use any pain nor anti-inflammatory medicines since May. (Knocking on wood) I have not been sick since way early in the year. The IMG m number showed improvement, but I guess part of me was swinging for the fences. LOL My Vitamin D numbers jumped considerably to normal. I have been taking Vitamin D supplements for the longest and the numbers just lulled around really low. That is a plus. I think I am going to go with 'it has only been 90 days' and go from there. 52lbs and pain free within the first 90 days is not too shabby. There will be another set in November. Like with everything, time will tell. Scott6 points

I made it through the first week! No cheats, cravings or withdrawal symptoms and I feel pretty good. I dropped 9 pounds and I know a good bit was water but that's fine. I am back below 300 and I really hope to never see over 300 again!! My goal is 220lbs so 9 down and 75 to go.6 points -
Ok...I just realized something else...my 5x urinating a night has stopped. I can go a whole night's sleep and only pee 1 or 2 times....no emergencies..... Normally if I have to pee...IT'S ON! I was driving home a couple of weeks ago and peed my pants because I couldn't hold it....now...I can say " I have to pee..." and if I don't immediately run to the bathroom...it's no big deal.... amazing.6 points

I just had my first Ribeye since starting this 6 days ago. So Chuck steaks are good, don't get me wrong, but they are miles from a Ribeye!! Man it was amazing cooked in bacon fat and topped with butter cooked rare but well seared in a cast iron skillet. Just wow nothing has tasted that good to me in many many years, even other Ribeyes!6 points -
Robert, you are an addict. An addict must abstain from their drug of choice. It don matter if it’s alcohol, heroin, tobacco or sugar. I once quit dipping snuff for two years but I though just one dip wouldn’t hurt. Bam! I was hooked all over again. It was nine years before I tried quitting again. I’ve been clean of tobacco for 18 years now but I know that I can never allow tobacco in any form ever touch me again or I’ll be hooked all over again There’s no such thing as moderation. An alcoholic can’t just have a beer. A heroin addict can’t just smoke a joint. You are a sugar addict so you should abstain from not just sugar but everything that’s sweet including all artificial sweeteners and milk products. Be aware that there are 75 different names for sugar so read your food labels carefully for those hidden sugars. There are those who are not addicts and can moderate but if you can’t then you must stay away from it. I can drink one beer and not touch another one for several years. It doesn’t bother me but I’m not an alcoholic. I just choose not to drink anything that is loaded with carbs. Make your choice what is best for you and your health. My choice was no sweeteners whatsoever. I don’t need the temptation. If you’ll give it at least 30 days I think you could kick the addiction. I’ve heard some do it in two weeks. Who’s stronger, you or the sugar? [emoji2955] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk6 points

Pic for attention, lol. This was a few weeks ago. I took my parents out to A Plus Crab in Cuyahoga Falls, which is a seafood boil restaurant. These were the raw oysters I got as an appetizer. My dad got me into these. Totally delicious and chock full of Omega-3's, vitamins, and minerals. On Saturday I attended a graduation party. I had a chicken breast and Italian sausages. And then Sunday, a family reunion on my wife's side, where I was able to have hot dogs and hamburger patties. I was able to make it work, but had to put up the palm when people would say "Aren't you gonna have any cAkE??"6 points -

It's crazy though, isn't it? The information just wasn't available. I always considered myself to be quite healthy. No medications. Then I started to get pain all over my diet so went full-tilt into low-carb. The pain did subside only to be replaced by arthritis in my hips. I bet I could have prevented it all along if only I'd known.6 points -

My list is so long that sometimes I forget some of it but here goes. 9 months ago, when I became a carnivore, I couldn’t walk a hundred yards without a walking stick for support because of my back. In about 30 days I could walk a mile with no support and after 90 days I was walking 3 miles briskly with no support. IBS of over 30 years was cured in 30 days. Crohn’s was cured as well. Inflammation and arthritis 90 % gone. I couldn’t make a fist with my right hand for years but in 2 weeks on carni I could. Floaters in my eyes noticeably reduced. My cardiologist has taken me off of one of my heart medications and is wanting to start reducing the other. It’s now been over a month since I’ve noticed a PVC or flutter in my heart. I don’t think I have sleep apnea anymore. My dandruff that I’ve had all of my life is gone. I’ve lost 55 pounds and 32.5 inches over my whole body. 9 months ago at the age of 67 I felt like I was 87 years old and just waiting for death to take me. Today I feel 47 years old and feel like I’ve got my whole life ahead of me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk6 points

I am a carnivore and I don’t care how other people eat and will never tell them that they have to eat like I do unlike the vegans who demand we all conform to their religious way and it is a religion to them. I have met many carnivores that do believe that everyone should eat some kind of ketogenic diet with carnivore being the best but none of them ever try to tell anyone else how to live. We all lead by example. My wife is meat centric but she’s not carnivore but she does believe it’s a proper way to eat and my children are now eating carnivore because they saw the changes in me. I never told them to do it. It is important though that we always have an answer to any question asked and be willing to help anyone who asks.5 points

A chunk of ours is homemade but the biggest part is store bought. I'm not all that strict on the bacon. I don't eat a ton of it regularly but every so often I eat a pound pack over a couple three days. Earlier in the week I ground a pound into some burger. I will get that over three to four meals. I'm sure some of the bacon I buy has sugar but I'm not sure I could ever reach total perfection with carnivore buy reading every label and researching every brand. Interesting topic. Scott5 points

Not completely hooked on numbers but it's very encouraging to see them go down especially when I started so heavy. My clothes are falling off of me, even the stuff that was too tight to wear when I started. My sleep apnea has improved to better than it was when I was diagnosed with it ten years ago. I feel so much better too. When hiking through the woods while hunting or walking my job sites at work, I get around so much easier. I'm happy to get out there and have something to do now.5 points

We are on our own. Make the best choices for yourself, that is all you can do. It's a shameful state of affairs, but here we are. Only you have the best interest for yourself in mind, nobody else, no government, no insurance company, medical entity, etc. That maybe perceived as a cynical view, but it's based on factual observation. Why is obesity on the rise? And what about cancer? Metabolic syndrome? Mental issues? Aren't we supposed to have evolved in our modern society? All that knowledge we gained?5 points

First off Andre, don’t worry about the language, I guarantee you can’t butcher it up any worse than U.S. Americans do. Everything you typed was perfectly fine. Yes we are all different in how this diet works on us. It all depends on where we are starting our journeys. You started out fairly healthy so your experience is going to be totally different from this broken down old man. But, it still works for everyone. It’s a misconception that carnivore is a weight loss diet. It’s not. Carnivore is not a magic bullet. Carnivore is not a diet. Carnivore is a way of eating which enables your body to undo years of metabolic damage, abuse from calorie restricted diets, and metabolic disregulation. Carnivore is primarily about health and healing. Yes- it is true that the weight will come off. But! It will do it when it wants to. For some people it happens fast, for others slow because we are all different. You may just be in a stall or plateau. I’ve hit plateaus that lasted a month. I’m in one right now that has lasted over a month and I’d like to drop a few more pounds but I don’t worry about it. I just keep on eating the same way because this is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. I will eat this way the rest of my life. My weight will settle in where it’s supposed to. Settle into your lifestyle. Eat fatty meat, salt and water and your body will take care of the rest when it wants to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

So good to read this thread. I’m only a few days into carnivore and I think I let myself get too hungry today. I didn’t think I could face my dinner of chicken and beef. It seemed so boring. I’m making myself eat it, and reading about all the benefits you folks have experienced is helping me feel more positive. Eating this way is so different that sometimes I wonder if I’m mad for doing it.5 points

I made my first batch of chaffles using almond flour and coconut flour, using egg rings in a frying pan. They were ok, but not carnivore so I eventually got off my butt and turned the chicken breasts I’d bought into carnivore flour. It took a couple of hours, but was worth it because I made a lot and it’s staying like powder in the freezer so will last a long time. For breakfast this morning I had some of the new and improved chaffles with butter, salmon and grated cheese. Now I have a proper waffle maker ordered and will be making them in bulk for breakfasts from now on.5 points -
