Thanks Bob, appreciate the input. I also notice my heart rate is much higher. Do you notice that? I’m an avid exerciser.

I haven't in my case. I am not an avid exerciser and I still take blood pressure meds. What is your current resting heart rate? Is it still under 100?

I've heard that a heart beats better when burning ketones vs glucose. A lot of people will lay down to go to sleep and hear their heart beat and get worried. My heartbeat is definitely more noticeable when lying down to go to sleep than it was previously, but it's nothing of any concern.

I have ulcerative colitis and have been able to get off my medications.

That's awesome. I too have (or had) ulcerative colitis and am also medication free at the moment.

The last month or two though I’ve developed a skin rash on my chest abdomen area seems to be getting worse. My bowel movements have become more loose lately as well.

Sounds like you have the "keto rash", For many people, they hang in there and it will go away. It could be happening for various reasons, and we just have to narrow down the cause.

    1) Histamine intolerance -> You may have trouble breaking down histamines. This can be a problem with aged beef. Those with a histamine intolerance need to purchase the freshest meat possible. Like, get to know your local butcher/rancher and get your meat from something just slaughtered. Much of the meat we get from the store has already aged several weeks.

You could also try a variety by adding eggs, chicken, pork, seafood, etc to your diet.

    2) Nutrional deficiencies -> not very likely with ribeyes and livers, however, you could round it out with some other animals like mentioned above, or with eggs, etc.

    3) Detox/Oxalate Dumping -> If you previously has an oxylate rich diet, you may be dumping oxylate crystals that you were previously hoarding.

I think if it was histamine intolerance, you would have had this issue early on.

Regarding the loose stools, the general guideline is to back off the fat. If you eat too much fat and your gall bladder doesn't have enough bile on hand to help digest it, the excess will pass through you. But, from personal experience, when I added back cheese things thickened up for me, which actually runs counter to that advice. There seems to be a balance between too much and too little fat.

Let us know how it goes. Welcome aboard!

I have learnt that organs are rich in nutrients, vitamins and minerals

This is true. Organ meats are nutritional powerhouses. Liver is often cited as being "natures multivitamin".

Any thoughts about eating this way? Would love to hear.

I've heard you can overdo it. For example, too much liver can result in vitamin A toxicity or copper toxicity, but I think you have to be eating a lot of it all the time. And it depends on what animal also. Beef and chicken livers are fine in moderation, but a Polar Bear liver could kill you with just one meal.

But I am glad to hear that you are doing so well with your carnivore eating choices.

Bob, I just watched the video! You did a great job! You are so inspiring! I subscribed to your channel. I am glad you had before photos to share. I have hidden from the camera for years so I don’t have many before photos. Thanks for sharing!

I had to go scrounging through my wife's and my brother's Facebook accounts. I don't take many photos of myself because I am the one behind the camera taking the pictures. I had to use the S Pen on my Galaxy Phone to take the recent pics of myself.

Thank you for your kind review and for subscribing 🙂

Ok, I don’t know why my post is in blue

Sorry, Bob. I think I messed up your post by hitting the quote button before I replied. I don’t know how to remedy it.

I fixed it. For some reason all your text was a hyperlink back to this site.

Just finished watching the video. Tremendous testimony and great detail. This is very inspiring. You are doing a good thing Bob.

    Thanks Geoff.

You know what's funny, is that I have my main account subscribed to my Carnivore Talk channel. I was watching YouTube on the livingroom television the other day, scrolling through my recommendations, and suddenly one of my thumbnails was on the screen and my kids are like "You're doing videos again?" lol 😄

Made 'carnivore ice cream' yesterday - just cream and egg yolk. It's rock hard, but tastes nice.... mind you, not something I'd want to get used to.

I got a Ninja Creami Deluxe a few days ago and gave it a test run. I used heavy cream, egg yolks, and a little raw honey. I didn't have any allulose or anything artificial to use. I use vanilla extract in one batch and strawberry extract in the other.

The vanilla batch turned out fine. The strawberry batch didn't taste like strawberry, but rather like honey, which is not a great ice cream flavor, lol.

But the family seemed to like it because they had most of it, lol.

  7. I just celebrated my ONE YEAR carniversary! After learning about the Proper Human Diet and Carnivore from Dr. Ken Berry MD  - I lost 55 pounds and reversed several of my chronic health conditions. In this video, I share some pictures of the former me, when I tipped the scales from 220-230 pounds. I reached my goal weight of 175 in mid-November and have maintained it for the last 6 months. Now I am setting new goals and the carnivore diet gives me the confidence that I will achieve them too.

Everything I’ve seen on grounding has been about actual touching the natural world around us. Mainly getting our bare feet in dirt and grass and getting our hands in the soil. I’ve read that touching anything artificial is not grounding so how could a mat and pillowcase be considered grounding?

If I recall correctly when Bart Kay was discussing it, their is basically a grounding wire that you run outside and to the ground. This acts as a conductor.

Same concept as standing on a rubber stool will protect you from electricity but if you stepped off the rubber stool onto the ground you would get fried.

  9. Welcome aboard @Moomba. The original Atkins, based on the book, was a good plan. After he died his company was sold and the new "Atkins" became a shakes, bars, snacks, and meal company. Instead of wholesome recipes, it became a game of trying to create imitation versions of the junk food you were addicted to, which of course, solves nothing.

  10. I have a PUR filter at home that I use. I also have an OPAL ice cube maker that makes the tiny little ice pellets. If I take water to go, I have a 32oz thermos with a metal lining. It doesn't seem to effect taste for me, at least not to any degree that bothers me.

I will drink out of water bottles if I have to. At the music festival Saturday, they would throw cold water bottles into the crowd. I caught a few of those and drank from them all day.
