Six Weeks in, Sick, Miserable & Exhausted, is this normal?
In my experience and from what I hear from other carnivores what you’re describing is not normal. Yes, it could very well be from eating that wheat as well as oxalate dumping and it could all be exacerbated but the fact that you are causing confusion in your metabolism by going off and on with your carnivore diet. By quitting carnivore on the weekends you may be shutting down your bodies ability to become fat adapted. Judging by your description you are not sugar free. Eating fruit is still eating sugar in the form of fructose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why Obesity Is Linked to Higher Cancer Rates in Young People
Easily several areas to nitpick but it’s nice to see that some research if finally catching up to what most of us already knew. “Most Highly Processed Food”??? How about ALL highly processed foods. “Balanced Diet”? Definitely a subjective term and part of the problem. Now they just need to wake up to the fact that it is their own organizations and guidelines that have created this mess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ketogenic diet has helped a Jackson 4-year-old become seizure free
That’s wonderful. I find it strange though that modern medicine is so blind that they can’t see that there are treatments out there that go back hundreds of years that worked and that most of the afflictions of man are related to diet. That article makes it sound like this is some new discovery. Lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What are some benefits that you've noticed from this diet?
My list is so long that sometimes I forget some of it but here goes. 9 months ago, when I became a carnivore, I couldn’t walk a hundred yards without a walking stick for support because of my back. In about 30 days I could walk a mile with no support and after 90 days I was walking 3 miles briskly with no support. IBS of over 30 years was cured in 30 days. Crohn’s was cured as well. Inflammation and arthritis 90 % gone. I couldn’t make a fist with my right hand for years but in 2 weeks on carni I could. Floaters in my eyes noticeably reduced. My cardiologist has taken me off of one of my heart medications and is wanting to start reducing the other. It’s now been over a month since I’ve noticed a PVC or flutter in my heart. I don’t think I have sleep apnea anymore. My dandruff that I’ve had all of my life is gone. I’ve lost 55 pounds and 32.5 inches over my whole body. 9 months ago at the age of 67 I felt like I was 87 years old and just waiting for death to take me. Today I feel 47 years old and feel like I’ve got my whole life ahead of me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What Did You Eat Today?
The weather finally cut us some slack so I was finally able to smoke my bacon yesterday after a ten day cure. Two hours later it’s ready to pull off the pit. After being refrigerated over night it was time to slice it. About ten pounds. The best part is cooking up the end pieces and scraps. I could eat on that all day. Then for dessert a small bowl of homemade yogurt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Too Skinny?
For those who have reached their weight loss goals or are close to it, have your friends or family told you that you’re too skinny. Mine have. While I’m lighter than I’ve been since I was a teenager my waist size is still not at my thinnest. Whereas I was a 40 + inch waist I’m down to a 34 inches but in my prime I was a 32. Also there’s still some belly on me. What I find funny and maybe a little sad is that we as Americans have have become so overweight as a society that when we see someone who is actually at the normal weight and body size they should be they are labeled too skinny. I love studying and researching history and a common denominator I see in the old photos of our past is the body composition of those who came before us. The majority of people were thin and wiry. It’s amazing how social norms have changed in just a few short decades. Personally I love being called too skinny and it wouldn’t hurt my feelings none if I got even skinnier. I had a fairly large raised bed garden and I was conflicted as to what I would do after becoming carnivore. Since I give away much of the produce left over from what I couldn’t consume I considered just giving away all I produce next year but the more I thought about it the less desirable it became. So I dismantled my garden and I’m just going to quit Al together. I still have some canned vegetables left from last year that I still need to give away. I have several neighbors that I make jujube butter for from my tree but I just don’t have the desire to make it anymore even though I’ve got three gallons of jujube’s in the freezer from last year’s harvest. What Did You Eat Today?
Three over easy eggs on top of three chaffles along with a couple of slices of bacon for my first meal. Then this evening I made a couple of liverwurst sandwiches using chaffles and my homemade liverwurst. Then for a little dessert I had a little homemade yogurt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great! I’m with you on the devils in the cheese. I read labels almost religiously trying to keep my foods as clean as I can. After getting the idea of queso in my head I was at the grocery store and decided to look at the old standard for making queso, velveta. Wow! There is so much crap in that stuff that it shouldn’t be labeled food. Thanks for the recipe. I may try it with Oaxaca or Queso fresco. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ideal Weight Calculator?
I completely agree with you @Orweller. I saw this as a, supposedly, more accurate measurement than the standard BMI that we all know is not accurate. I just found it to be intriguing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gum Abscess Healed Faster on Meat than Antibiotics…why?
It’s coming Bob. My skin is very thin and my wife is always pointing out that I’m bleeding again. I’m constantly bumping something or scratching myself on something (you really don’t want to see me after working on a barbed wire fence). I’ll be bleeding and don’t even know I’m injured because I don’t feel it. It also doesn’t help that I take an aspirin everyday to help thin my blood. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would think it’s all good to try. I’ve had goat cheese and I like it better than bovine cheese. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ideal Weight Calculator?
Never seen this one before. No idea if there’s any chance it could be accurate but my calculations show that I should be at 169lbs. I can dig it. Especially since I’m hovering near that weight now. Any thoughts on this? https://planetcalc.com/35/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What Did You Eat Today?
I was going to smoke some bacon today but it’s 11° out there so I figured it would be too difficult to maintain temperature on my smoker so instead I made a couple of pounds of liverwurst using beef liver from our own cattle. And then I seared a couple of lamb chops (also from my own lambs) and a couple of venison roasts then put them in the crockpot with some bone broth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Carnivore diet - dairy
Stay away from any dairy that is labeled skim, partially skim, 2%. You only use full fat or whole milk products. It’s also said to not use Ultra Pasteurized milk but I’ve never seen any of that in the stores. What we are wanting to consume in the dairy products is the fat. If the dairy is labeled skim then the fat has been removed and all that is left is the lactose and lactose is just sugar. Cream, whole milk cheese and fermented dairy are ok to eat. Carnivore diet - dairy
If you can tolerate dairy and it isn’t a trigger food that causes you to have cravings and over indulge then it shouldn’t be a problem. Just introduce it slowly. Eat some and then wait for at least 3 days and see if there are any changes. If not, do it again and see what happens. If you’re in tune with your body you’ll know whether you can handle it or not. I personally would not ingest dairy in the form of milk. I’m in the camp that once we are into adulthood it just just isn’t needed in our diets. But with that being said, I do eat cheese, sour cream and yogurt but only whole milk or heavy cream. I make my own yogurt out of heavy cream. It’s delicious. Don’t concern yourself with raw dairy especially if it’s not legal. Pasteurized is just fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
