We were at a cookout last week and had the brats and hotdogs from this place. They were very good. We will be checking out their store next week. It's only a few towns away (20 miles) and I never knew it even existed. Sounds like it's been there for years. Go figure, Ey.

We used to have a place called Kirby's Meats here in Stow but it closed down before I was a carnivore, so I never frequented the place. As of now, I am aware of 2 locations for locally sourced meat....

^ Comparable to Duma's but a much smaller store and smaller scale operation, and therefore more pricey. They can't match Duma's on price because Duma pushes so much volume.

I've likely located a place not too far from my place. At those you buy half a cow, or somehting like that, so I will need a dedicated freezer. I am looking for solutions. We have a local supermarket, and their meat is a very good quality, but as a local shop, they are expensive. I still try to support them over the Dollar General, in fact, I refuse to go to a Dollar General. It is those places that push the locals out.

We've been getting most of our beef from local places like Walmart or Meijer when it is on short sale discount. That is a hit or miss kind of deal but it sure beats their regular price for meat. Picked up 2 half briskets yesterday @ Meijer for $3 a pound. Those will go on the smoker Thursday morning about 5am. They had a few hot dogs and brats which I grabbed up also. No more room left in our freezer, Which is great as a carnivore 😄. Eat up Boy's and girl's!

From pasture to pit to table all within a few hundred yards.

We had two in town and both have since closed. One was the Oak Grove Market. They butchered in one part of the building and another part those same meats were cooked and served. We shopped there a couple times per week and ate lunch there at least once per week.

The second was called "Supply Line". Their meat selection was tremendous and if they didn't have what you were looking for they would track it down and it would be there the next time. Even for a local, family-owned business they kept their prices down and relied on service and quality to offset the big box stores. They were able to do that for years and years.

I miss both those places.

We now have one 20+ miles away that is 'from the field to your table' and their meats are incredible. Expensive over time, but incredible.

Everything is high, and if they bought high and sold low, they would be out of business in short order. In some slight mental justification, I shop there because I have saved money just eating meats and secondly, they are local, and family owned. Maybe the third, the young man that opened it is maybe 26-27 years old and when he interacts with customers you would think he was the 75 year old farmer from down the road that watched everyone grow up. An old soul.

Our pork is from out back to inside, only a few hundred feet from the door. Eggs the same.

We can't raise any "meat" where we live due to zoning and if you want chickens for eggs there is a limit of 4 and it's a yearly license of $50! I'll just stick with Wally World or Aldi for eggs.
