Because those are the biggest muscles you have and muscle mass in directly tied to longevity. As I often preach. I would not skip on upper body though if you'd consider posture and possible inbalance.

That tracts! muscle mass=mitochondria. Skeletal muscle is second only to heart. And largest muscles are in your lower body.

I guess I don't follow you Miranda sorry.

I was trying to convey this

"Leg strength is closely linked to longevity, as stronger legs contribute to better mobility, balance, and overall health, reducing the risk of chronic conditions and disability. Research indicates that individuals with greater leg strength tend to have a lower risk of mortality and improved cognitive function as they age."

Nothing more nothing less just saying Leg strength> upper body = WIN

I was talking to him about my triglycerides. His commentary was along the lines of what I already know, in that if I want them to come down, I'll have to burn them off with exercise. But he emphasized that strength training with a particular focus on the legs is the way to go. Cardio, and upper body resistance training has some benefits, but longevity is hugely correlated to leg muscles and leg strength.
