Lost 150lbs in 18 months post lockdown on trad keto (6 months, hated it) and then 12 months Lion Diet (loved it)

Fell off the wagon and regained bad habits and 100lbs

Looking to support and be supported. Set 600 day rejuvention plan. Currently day 15. I am including well fermented

foods (kraut, really old cheese and real kefir) so apologies in advance if that is frowned upon

See you around. I had a lot of success and I realise now that I was in a lot of communities and that was a big part

Welcome to carnivoretalk @judorick .

We all make mistakes and they can be important in our journey because they are lessons to be learned. They teach us what we can and cannot do. Forget the mistakes but remember the lessons.

Fermented vegetables and cheeses or dairy overall aren’t bad on carnivore unless they cause you to have a setback, stall or overindulge. I eat kimchi and sauerkraut occasionally for my gut microbiome and I occasionally eat a little dairy but I have to be careful with it because it can become very addictive for me. Dairy should be treated as a condiment and not a meal. One thing you’ll find about us is we don’t judge. Eat what works for you.

Yes the falling off the wagon was sparked by life changes beyond my control. Depressing story

Thanks for the welcome! To ve clear I am earing 1 tbsp kraut, half cup kefir and 20g hard old sheep/ goat cheese

Other than that carnivore + fasting

Welcome.

I am just starting a 'return to carnivore' myself. I lost around 95 pounds in less than a year. Along the way I stayed strict carnivore but experimented with fat content and protein content. I have gained 21lbs since early December die to hitting a 200g per day protein target.

I added protein shakes and the occasion pre-made protein drinks. I also drink milk, in spurts, but somewhat regularly. Milk is a 'stall device' for me. When my weight was falling really fast it didn't take much at all to stall the loss.

This week I completed a 72 hour fast and am returning to what has worked the best for me. I am eating fatty red meats til I am full and then eating again when I am hungry. This works out to one meal per day on most days. Some days it might be two and then sometimes it is actually every other day. Sort of letting my body dictate when and how much I eat. I'm going to ditch the drinks and such as they contain sugar, some, not a lot, but enough to trigger hunger (which was needed to hit 200g of protein)

Good luck. It is much more important to find what works for you rather than to try to make someone else's plan work on you.

We're pretty relaxed and reasonable around here. We support keto, ketovore, and animal-based lifestyles as well. If you tolerate the fermented foods (and most people do), then enjoy!

Yes, the ferments are more a nutritional a gut biome thing rather than for enjoyment, although I buy tasty stuff,

I have been convinced that getting right gut health is critical for visceral fat loss, mental health, auto-immune disease and so on. Since committing fully in the last two weeks, although I have had several aborted attempts earlier this year, I have already achieved so many benefits. Bloating, skin, weight loss, energy levels, sleep, general aches and pains and more all vastly better. Cardio improved without taking any more exercise.

So many thanks for the welcome!! Approx 100lbs to lose. Intuitively experimenting to see how I feel and respond

Cheers
