I have been on the diet 90 days as of today. I had some immunoglobulin blood work done earlier in the week and the results just posted. My Immunoglobulin A numbers were still high at 388 (signs of infection and inflammation from an underlying illness) and my IM m numbers were low (51) which is actually improved from May. 

I have had nothing but the positives of the carnivore diet the first 90 days so there are zero complaints. I thought i would see a better number on the 'infections and inflammation' IMG a because I have not had to use any pain nor anti-inflammatory medicines since May. (Knocking on wood) I have not been sick since way early in the year. The IMG m number showed improvement, but I guess part of me was swinging for the fences. LOL

My Vitamin D numbers jumped considerably to normal. I have been taking Vitamin D supplements for the longest and the numbers just lulled around really low. That is a plus.

I think I am going to go with 'it has only been 90 days' and go from there. 52lbs and pain free within the first 90 days is not too shabby. 

There will be another set in November. Like with everything, time will tell.

Congratulations on the improvements.
Many often come into this lifestyle with expectations set way too high.
Becoming metabolically sick didn’t happen overnight and healing won’t happen overnight either. It takes time. Some things longer than another.
It’s often recommended that we don’t even get a blood test until we’ve been doing carnivore for at least a year.
I think you are on the right track in your thinking.

I had read about waiting for a year. I have two infusions per year and blood work a few weeks out and a few weeks after. 

When I first started reading and watching videos on the positive affects of carnivore in the MS community I was absolutely blown away. Another 'who woulda thunk it?' for me. I read so many stories that were somewhere between miraculous and too good to be true. 

I'm somewhere between 'gotta give it time' and 'hopes at a higher level'. Probably more 'it has only been 90 days.

I think 52 pounds and no pain medicine is way more than I would have ever expected and my story would be the one I read and said, "Really?". LOL

As of late I am shifting a little more toward red meat but not totally abandoning other proteins. (Tonight was leg quarters on the smoker) Tomorrow night is rib eyes and shrimp for a little get together in the cabin. Babbling a bit, but the first 90 days was maybe a tad more red meat but all in all maybe half in half. I am also wondering if the lean toward red meat will show better results than the half and half approach. 

Like most things, time will tell.

So what I hear is your numbers are improved, even if only slightly, and you're feeling great. I would say, keep doing what you are doing 😉

That is the plan. I read some studies from the 50's when carnivore was called 'a meat only' diet. (maybe the current name is a better catch phrase). The MS community saw a lot of improvements with red meat and water. No gimmes, and no cheats, only red meat and water.

I do notice a difference between the red meat days and the non-red meat days. I have to think it lies along the lines of fat content a bit but not totally sure.

Just for my own individual story I plan to go much heavier on the red meat but not totally abandoning the chicken and pork (especially the pork).

But the first 90 days was more than amazing. So much so, if you posted it and I had yet to experience it, I would question your honesty. (nay-sayer by heart).

The more I read and the more I watch I am starting to feel like one of the many.

You are definitely on the right track Scott. Red meat from ruminant animals is the optimal food we can eat. Monogastric animals are ok to eat on occasion but for optimal nutrition ruminants are where it’s at.

Are those studies online and could you link to them. I have a friend who is suffering from a bad form of MS. He doesn't work now and he's always snacking on carbs and putting on some weight. 

I've talked about carnivore - but it might pack a better punch armed with some studies and evidences.

A friend of mines son has MS and I’ve given him multiple things to look at such as testimonials from people with MS and there is growing consensus that carnivore can definitely help.

I'll watch them and see if they reference actual studies, particularly that 50's one you referred to. I'd love to be armed with the research paper itself.

Just tagging on to an old post. 

I had bloodwork earlier in the week. For the most part pre-carnivore, I was healthy, just fat, if that can make any sense at all. I never had a blood pressure issue and my glucose was sort of low, especially in the mornings. My cholesterol was up, high, but not totally alarming (to me anyways).

This trip my blood pressure was 99/66. Which is a few points down as normally it hangs around 110-112 over 60-70. My glusose A1C number inched down from 4.73 to 4.32 (which is odd because my daily's have been a hair over 100 for the last couple months and before I needed a Little Debbie cake to get to the mid 90's). The Vitamin D moved up 9 spots to 46. 

Total cholesterol dropped some and now is at 219. The HDL is 37 and the LDL is 187. ( I was thinking the total would drop a bit more and maybe even a slight better LDL number---then again, I have to factor its only been 111 days since I started---patience is not my strong suit). The triglycerides are close to the same at 75.

My hemoglobin and hematocrit has always been on the lower end of the chart but this time they both dropped just under the 'normal'. The doctor recommended an iron supplement every other day. She said there could be some constipation. I told her I am on the carnivore diet and if I miss on fat, water or electrolytes a little constipation would be a good thing.

My doctor is on vacation so I seen Dr. Avery for the first time. She was really receptive of the carnivore approach. She said she never met anyone who did the diet for a long stretch and she had only read about some of the 'benefits'. We spent twenty minutes with me telling her how it has been working for me. My favorite thing to hear from a doctor is, 'not everything needs a pill'. She told me at my next appointment she would be well versed on the carnivore approach. Sometimes getting the warm fuzzies from your doctor means a lot.

I'm trying to copy and paste the records from 5/13 and 8/27 for comparison sake, but the portal is not cooperating.
