Must of been the pork
Miranda replied to The Hamburgler's topic in Carnivore, Meat-based Keto, & Ketovore Support
I feel the same about pork and chicken. The more red meat the better I feel. -

I weigh daily just out of habit. I don't track or record it. Some people suggest taking a weekly average for tracking as the daily ups and downs can be misleading. -

Hey, sounds like a great day, and I certainly don't mean to be a killjoy, but I just learned that the cinnamon in my pantry had significant (IMO )amounts of lead. I chucked it and ordered some 365 brand because I like to dash some into my decaf and yogurt. -

Kelly Hogan has a lot of great advice to offer. She touched on priming on this one. -
I use mustard. And I eat pickles (from the grocery store)

I find that sweeteners make me hungrier and give me GI issues. It's best to ditch them. I have gotten to the point that if I'm going to cheat it's going to be something that my great grandparents would've had. I just eat the sugar. I think sweeteners are just as addictive as sugar is anyway. Try switching to plain yogurt with berries at first, then you won't feel super deprived. If you drink soda switch to club soda. If you drink sweet tea, pick up some peppermint tea instead. -

There are at least four genres of carnivore YouTubes. You have testimonials (my fave), you have well researched cut and dry essay type videos like Dr Ken Berry and Carnivore Talk. There are interviews with and among the thought leaders and then there are the Influencers. They sort of rely on their audience needing guidance. These are the videos where they promise the golden egg of wisdom but only deliver word salad and uncertainty. Just keep tuning in for the answers, keep chasing that carrot they are dangling. I feel like the priming is a way to get people to pay for guidance. The more complicated they make it, the more you are willing to rationalize paying to be part of their group. I'm not knocking paying to be part of an online group. I was in one for a couple of years when I did fasting. It just seems like some people are on YouTube to share how great this is, and if they make money it's a bonus and then others...well it seems like they are motivated primary by $$$. -

Me too, but my store never carries chuck eye. Thankfully, my Mom turned me on to Laura Spath's method of breaking down the chuck roast that contains the eye.- 1,441 replies

I have heard of this priming but I'm not sure of the rational. I think it probably works better for woman, honestly. I say this because it address hormonal hunger. And women tend to come from a background of calorie deprivation. I have had problems with "leptin resistance" I put that in quotes because I feel like Bart Kay would say it's not a real thing, but a construct. But in the beginning and certain times of the month I am more hungry. So on those days I do allow my self to eat, but on the days that I'm not as hungry I do try to extend my fast for as long as I can. Here's why I think priming is not a great idea, it's basically gluttony. I'm not passing moral judgement, but things that are sinful generally aren't wise or good for our physical body either. Why overtax your system unnecessarily. Fasting is way better. -
Ouch, that sounds super painful @Geezy I think too much water on hot days is what worsens the problem. Whenever I made an effort to stay hydrated on hot days outside, I would get terrible headaches. I may have been unwittingly flushing out the electrolytes with too much water. Carnivore Rabbi just did a video pondering about improved heat tolerance. Has anyone here noticed and improvement?

1st, l love your handle! I think it depends on your previous habits. Have you been practicing time restricted eating for awhile? Some people are good with the rip off the bandaid approach while others do better with smaller incremental changes. What was your WOE like before carnivore.?

I have been off caffeine for a few months and Dr Chaffee is spot on about the muscle soreness. I had one cup about a month ago and my IT band on my thighs lit up and ached for two days. I have been pondering what I will do for a hot beverage on BBBE. I think I might try salt egg and butter frothed in hot water. Bone broth is a great idea, I just don't have any currently.

Carnivore and blood sugar

Honey is not from plants so it would be okay. I guess some carnivores use it. I think it will be a fun experiment to see what life is like without the supplements. I take ginger and maca regularly along with a bunch of B vitamins. I think I will drop them all except the lugols iodine. My biggest struggle will be no decaf. I can take black decaf, and sometimes I drink hot water, but decaf is my last entertainment food.

I was sprinting up until school got out. I get out of all regular routines from July -September. I enjoy sprinting. I also try to hang from jungle gymn whenever we are at a playground, I saw somewhere that it helps strengthen the rotator cuff muscles.

I find that drinking cold beverages after eating a big meal causes diarrhea, also over eating fat, like too much in one meal or over the course of a day will cause diarrhea.

Carnivore and blood sugar

I just heard Paul Mason explains that blood sugar goes up with exercise and taking a hot shower. Both increase blood flow. More blood flow means higher blood sugar. -
New here, got a question.

Know idea if it will work but maybe take some of the liquid out and make like an egg custard with it and then add it back in?
