What's fer supper!
Not a big deal Bob. Being here in Texas we are covered up in mexican restaurants but it’s a lot easier for me to stay carnivore in a Mexican restaurant than an Italian. Best case scenario they usually will have a steak on the menu or some kind of steak dish cooked mexican style. Worst case there’s always fajitas on the menu. In an Italian restaurant I generally just have to fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Erythritol - The Good and the Bad
I don’t know much about it but I suppose if you just can’t give up sweet things then that just might be the ticket. Personally, I just don’t touch anything sweet. I just don’t want it in my life. Even if doesn’t affect the body it still affects the mind. In some people it could act as a trigger causing them to crave carby foods. I believe that that is the downfall of many people on keto and carnivore because they just aren’t willing to give up that sweet tooth so they never lose those urges to fuel that insulin spike. Eventually they cave in. That’s what my problem was with Adkins because it allowed me to keep eating the non caloric sweeteners so I was always being tempted. This is what I love about the simplicity of the carnivore lifestyle. I don’t have to restrict anything, I just eliminate it. Simple, done, gone, out of my life. No temptations. How Ultra-Processed Foods Differ From Other Processed Foods
Spot on Steven. I make some of my own “processed meats” but by doing so I get to control what goes in them. I make my own bacon. I don’t consider bacon as being processed but some do. I make my own liverwurst. Now that is processed but still all natural with no sugars added. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is your favorite way to eat/prepare eggs?
I also steam my eggs. I get more consistent eggs this way. I do six minutes for soft boiled and ten minutes for hard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just starting today!
Welcome to the tribe Steven. Former soldier here. I did Adkins for ten years and was very successful with it as long as I could workout but after I hurt my back things started going downhill. I was at about a 60 carb level but when I tried to go back down to 20 grams it was just too though. I was weak and not determined enough. I now know that one of my problems was that I had gotten trapped in eating all the trendy “Adkins snacks and treats”. Those things were just triggers that kept me wanting more and sure enough, I started giving in over time and finally just quit. I started carnivore to help fix my health after the fourth time my AFib put me in ICU and it was time for a change. It’s the best thing I’ve done in a long time. My body has been healed of so many issues and ailments that it’s miraculous. My weight loss has been a side benefit but in the last 6 months I’ve lost 50 lbs and an overall total of 26 inches. It all affects us differently depending on what our physiological needs are. Remember, while you can and will lose weight, if you need to, this is not just a diet but a lifestyle that is first and foremost a metabolically healing diet first and a weight optimization diet second. Good luck and good health. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should I take supplements?
I think it’s all going to depend on your individual needs. I think only a good nutritionist who is well versed in carnivore could advise you. Most of the carnivore doctors I listen to say that if you are eating enough fatty meat then you should be getting all the nutrients that you need except maybe salt. But they also say that everyone is different and have different needs. No one size fits all when it comes to nutrition. I do take some supplements to help with some of my health issues. I have atrial fibrillation so because I’m at a greater risk of stroke I take and aspirin a day to keep my blood thin. I also take CoQ10 for heart health. I take vitamin D 3 because I don’t get enough sun since I rarely spend time outside half naked. I take a magnesium complex for multiple reasons, among them heart and muscle health as well as some bowel issues. I don’t have a gallbladder and my body just doesn’t seem to process my food normally so I tend to get constipated. I’m still trying to get this issue figured out so I have to try different things and give them time to see if they work. I take ELMT everyday because I believe I need the added sodium, magnesium and potassium. They seem to help me with my blood pressure, stamina and recovery from my walks and working around my farm. Do your research and talk to some online carnivore doctors and see what the might recommend for your individual needs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do you remain faithful and on plan, or do you cheat during the holidays?
I think you already know I’m solid in my convictions. The great thing about it is it doesn’t require any resistance from temptation from me. I just don’t have any desire to eat anything that isn’t pure nutrition. All my life I’ve loved the dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy and rolls. My daughter is a fantastic cook and did most of the cooking. With desserts being her specialty she made a pecan pie using the nuts from our own trees, a lemon chess pie, a buttermilk pie and her world famous, well two state famous, cheesecake, best in the world and my favorite. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday meal. With all of that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed what I ate which was just turkey slathered in butter. I was delicious. I will admit that I missed those old foods but I had absolutely no desire to eat any of them. They are no longer a part of my life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is Red Meat Really Bad for Your Body?
You know Bob, it’s funny that “they” like to tout that red meat causes heart disease but I have heart disease and it’s done nothing but get better since becoming a carnivore and my cardiologist is applauding my results and has taken me off on one of my medications and is talking about reducing the other. I’ll take my version of health over “theirs”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Eating Red Meat and Dairy Can Help Fight Cancer
“Trying to decipher the link between diet and human health “ I appreciate that statement but at the same time It’s ridiculous that the scientific community doesn’t already know that diet is related and relevant to nearly every ailment in the human body. Kinda sounds like they are trying to tiptoe around the subject. Don’t want to commit out of fear of getting chastised. 'There is a growing body of evidence about the detrimental health effects of consuming too much red meat and dairy, so this study shouldn't be taken as an excuse to eat more cheeseburgers and pizza.” Hmmm, contradict much? Ignorance abounds in that statement. There is no evidence, detrimental or otherwise, that shows any direct link to the consumption of red meat to cancer so that is a lie and to sit there and say in the article that there is evidence showing that red meat may kill cancer cells and then turn around and say just the opposite is is not only stupid but it’s piss poor journalism. And, as is the case of most of these ludicrous studies on red meat causing cancer, they always fail to account for the fact that those who have eaten red meat and contracted cancer always eat lots of breads, seeds, grains, seed oils and sugar. Why no correlation there? Oh, that’s right, it doesn’t fit the agenda. I appreciate that there might be some studies that are starting to bend in our direction but we need better journalism that holds the false scientific claims accountable for their falsehoods. Is it ok to have no sugar creamer in my coffee?
Another thought to add, have you thought about or tried bulletproof coffee? You might find that it’s a better alternative to using your creamer because it’s oil and animal based and gives a nice foamy, creamy texture to your coffee and if sweeteners don’t bother you then you could add a little of that to it also. Shortly after I started carnivore I lost my taste for coffee and so I switched to one cup of English tea in the morning. Soon after I started drinking tea I decided Ito see if adopting the bulletproof to tea would work. It’s so good that I crave it in the morning. Technically tea and coffee are not carnivore but making it bulletproof helps bring it back into the spectrum, IMO. All you do is use 1 teaspoon of butter. One teaspoon of coconut oil or MCT oil. Your hot beverage of choice. Sweetener, if you need it, to taste. Put it all in a blender or a nutrabullet for 30 seconds. That’s it. It gets my day started and I believe the butter a coconut oil make me satiated and keep me from getting hungry throughout the morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Carnivore and Chronic Pain
I don’t know if I can help you much as I haven’t experienced this. I had spinal stenosis so bad that I was losing the use of my legs and I’ve had a protruding compressed disc for 30 years. I had surgery (Laminectomy and diseconomy). That gave me my legs back but the inflammation that developed caused so much pain that I couldn’t walk without some kind of support. Carnivore changed everything for me and now I’m walking 3 miles every other day without any pain. But, that doesn’t mean my back is healed. It just means that the debilitating inflammation is gone. I’ve been working really hard this week on my small farm and my back is hurting pretty good right now. Nothing is going to heal that disc so when I over do it then it’s going to remind me that it’s still there. I say all that because I’m wondering if you may have had expectations that carnivore just can’t fix. On the other hand maybe what you’re going through is oxalate dumping. Do You Eat Meat and Meat Products Everyday?
Yes, I’m a carnivore therefore all I eat are meat and meat products. I do this because meat is all the human body needs for optimal health. Meat is the most nutrient dense food there is and it is all bioavailable to our bodies whereas vegetables and grains are not. I eat strictly for nutrition therefore I avoid sugars in all forms, seeds, seed oils, grains(which are also seeds) nuts (another seed) and vegetables. Meat, animal fats, eggs, cheese and water. That’s all I want and all I need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is your favorite meat?
Taboo in your culture? That’s interesting. What is your culture and why is it taboo? I don’t really have a favorite meat. I put red meat above all else but there are enough varieties of red meat that I just can’t say I prefer one over another. I just depends on my mood at the time. In red meats I love them all. Beef, lamb, goat, bison, venison of all kinds (deer, elk, caribou, etc). I raise much of the red meat I eat and I hunt the remainder. Next on my list is pork. Sometimes nothing beats a rack of slow smoked short ribs and bacon is a staple. A lot of the pork I eat comes from the hogs I hunt. Seafood. That one’s another tossup that vies for the top of the list. It’s especially great when I can combine it with a good steak. I have noticed that since becoming a carnivore I have lost my desire for fresh water fish, except for trout, and only like saltwater fish. If there’s any meat that just doesn’t compete with the others is poultry. I do like a good fatty duck and goose is good but they are a red meat. White meat fowl such as turkey, chicken , pheasant and quail can be boring. The only way I find them to be palatable is to drown them in butter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is Red Meat Really Bad for Your Body?
No, absolutely not. Red meat is the healthiest, most nutrient rich, bio available food you can eat. It is so nutrient rich that it’s the only food you need to live a healthy life. No, there are absolutely no studies that prove that red meat causes any health deficiencies but there is a ton of evidence to show that eating only meat is the healthiest way of eating. Florida Republican wants to ban lab-grown meat
There are no environmental damages caused by the meat industry. That is a myth and outright lie that is perpetrated by agenda driven idiots that no absolutely nothing about the livestock industry. Raising livestock is the most natural and ecological form of raising food there is. You want to see what damaging to our environment? Then look at agricultural farming. It destroys the land, pollutes it and destroys beneficial wildlife. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Real Meat Vs. Processed Meat
I wouldn’t call it “real” meat but instead maybe whole meat? Even processed meat is still real, it’s just been modified. While Webster’s may define bacon as processed I totally disagree because I don’t believe curing something is altering it, only preserving it. It’s no different than cooking a pot roast, is that turning the roast into processed meat? No, you didn’t alter the meat anymore that curing it did. I make my own bacon so I’m very familiar with the process. Processed meats. In my opinion there’s nothing wrong with processed meats but with this caution, make sure it’s clean. That can be hard to do though. I read the ingredient labels on every thing I buy that’s processed. If it has any sugars, sweeteners of any kind and that includes any thing that ends in “ose” such as dextrose, that includes store bought bacon, I won’t eat it. Also, if it has any fillers such as grains, soy, soy grits I leave it alone. Chemicals are also a no no. If I had absolutely no other choice I would eat unclean processed meat but only in limited quantities and only after I had achieved my goals on carnivore. Do I like one over the other? Not really, it just depends on my mood. My German heritage demands that I love sausage and I do but the Texan in be loves a good steak or brisket. I ate one meal yesterday and it consisted of 1 dozen oysters on the half shell , 1 dozen boiled shrimp. 1 dozen langostino and four clean sausages. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Animal Based Protein and Plant Based Protein
Bob is spot. The only thing I’d like to add is in regards to soy. Stay away from that crap as much as possible. First off it’s a seed and all seeds should be avoided. They are not meant to be eaten, are full of chemicals and toxins that cause inflammation in the body. Soy is especially bad to men because it increases the female hormone estrogen to increase in males whereby making them effeminate. Ever heard the term “Soy Boys”? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is it ok to have no sugar creamer in my coffee?
Eating wise you’re doing great. The creamer? Maybe not so great. I agree with Bob that it’s probably not doing any harm but I’d be curious about the ingredients in it. Is it a liquid or a powder? Is it an animal based product or some product developed in a lab with a list full of chemicals that you can’t even pronounce? In my opinion, if it doesn’t come from an animal then it has no business going into the human body. It has no nutritional benefit whatsoever. If it is an animal product such as heavy cream and it doesn’t adversely affect you then it’s fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Weather changing
Oh yeah, it’s changed quite a bit . It’s called spring, summer, fall and winter. Don’t worry about something you can’t do anything about. The planet has always gone through cyclic changes since the beginning of time and man and farting cows have never had anything to do with it. Study some actual science and history and stop listening to the drivel spewing out of the mouths of these idiots that just want attention. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
