after my bike ride today loaded the bike and started driving home and started feeling sick, puller over and laid down for a while but chest and left arm pain was starting.

Managed to get a hold of one of the other riders and asked if he could take my bike because I had to go to hospital.

Was able to drive myself to emergency, they could not do the surgery because they had someone else with same issue but but more serious, so I got a helicopter ride to another hospital.

Hopefully I get out tomorrow, I have been carnivore for 9 months, I am 61 years old and overall in good health, so I thought

Get well soon! The carnivore community needs to stop with the CAC score and start utilizing CT angiography. CAC does not visualize soft plaques, only what’s been calcified. It’s like catching a disease when the disease is already in full swing of things. Soft plaques turn into hard plaques over time, like a slow burn. If you’re carnivore get yourself a CT angiogram scheduled.

I hope you are doing well. I'm glad you recognized the signs and took action.

Do remember that it takes years upon years for circumstances to build up to this event. Your carnivore diet shouldn't get the blame for this. There are a variety of factors involved.

Are you familiar with Mitch, "Old Guy Carnivore" on YouTube? He also had a heart attack a little over a month ago. He explains what caused it, and continues to eat carnivore and champion the lifestyle.

This is good advice.

I understand why the Carnivore-friendly doctors hold up the CAC test, because statistically speaking, when the CAC is zero there is usually little to no plaque to be concerned about. But as you said this isn't always the case all of the time.

The CAC is cheap and non-invasive. In fact, around where I live you can get them for free without insurance or a prescription.

For free? Hook me up!

Same here. My doc wants me to get one but insurance won’t pay for it and I’m not going to pay for it out of pocket so if he wants me to get one bad enough he can pay for it.

It really doesn’t matter though because it wouldn’t change anything in my life. Regardless of the results I would still keep eating the way I eat now and exercising the way I exercise now because I know the best way to treat any cardiovascular issue is to eat carnivore.

They have me on a low cholesterol diet, absolutely not fat only cardboard chicken for dinner, my wife is sold on this and doesn’t want me doing carnivore, I have been fasting mainly and not eating this crap.

Eggs are not real, low fat milk, chemical coffee half and half creamer.

The good thing being carnivore I am able to go without eating for days

They want me to take statins after watching my mom deteriorate I have said I rather die than take statins.

I want to continue the carnivore tied but everyone is against me

I had an attack eight years ago. Got a stent -what did they do to you?

I was told I got the attack because of my low carb diet, not my 40 years history of cigarettes & beer... I had quit both cig and alc three years before I got the attack. Docs blamed the fat. I was skinny then. And I have been on and off low carb since early 2000 Atkins times. I know this game and I like this.

But:

Yes,an attack scares and confuses you. I got scared and went low fat & statins for a while, felt like 200 years old and gained 30 kilos. Docs just gave more meds, I got gout etc on the way.

Last November I had enough, got back to ketovore, quit statins and most of my BP meds, lost 25 kg already... and I'm feeling GREAT! Much stronger than in eight years. I'm riding motorbikes. Gout seems to be gone now, too. I still have some blocked arteries but I refused to get an open heart bypass surgery to fix them.

I'm running on 75+ % fat energy, 10 g daily carbs max. 62 years now.

Good luck with whatever you choose. We alone are responsible -and in charge- for our own health and diet. I'm being preached about the dangers of fat all the time, how it makes you fat and sick...

It’s your health and your choice. Carnivore did not cause your heart attack. The “Heart Healthy” diet has caused more heart attacks than any kind of ketogenic lifestyle. I will never eat anything other than carnivore because it is the only true heart healthy diet in my opinion. I refuse the statins every time they are suggested.

Exactly. Would eating carbs improve the situation? Not in any circumstance in any universe.

"Worldwide, sales of statins are running at about $19 billion a year and growing quickly. This success profits not only the pharmaceutical industry but also all those whose finances and careers are furthered by the research and the sales."

CT Angiography is a highly concentrated dose of radiation and IF you have several CT scans you risk radiation poisoning. (this came from my old neighbor who's a nurse for 40+ years)

CAC is the norm for most people as CIMT is not widely available.

I am glad you're still with us. Don't let them tell you carnivore, animal fats plugged your arteries as it takes DECADES of abuse

to do this damage.

Keep the good fight and get well soon.

Meathead - you really don't like me I can tell. I'm happy to be the only person in this thread to have actually given the original poster actionable advice on assessing his heart attack risk in the future.

You do understand that when you have medical imaging done x-ray exposure is tracked in your health records for the sole purpose of not receiving too high of a dose in a given time period?

But go ahead Meathead, keep telling us about being healthy as you suck on that vape every 37 seconds like you did on video last night.
