after my bike ride today loaded the bike and started driving home and started feeling sick, puller over and laid down for a while but chest and left arm pain was starting.

Managed to get a hold of one of the other riders and asked if he could take my bike because I had to go to hospital.

Was able to drive myself to emergency, they could not do the surgery because they had someone else with same issue but but more serious, so I got a helicopter ride to another hospital.

Hopefully I get out tomorrow, I have been carnivore for 9 months, I am 61 years old and overall in good health, so I thought

I also don't know what to do to reduce the cholesterol if that's what going to kill me, I enjoy the carnivore diet and don't what to give that up either.

You've only been carnivore for 9 months. The factors that led to your heart attack have been accumulating over a lifetime. Your recent switch to a carnivore diet simply cannot take the blame here.

There is some connection between saturated fat intake and LDL. You could make use of olive oil and avocado oil. While not technically "carnivore", these oils are not seed oils and are generally accepted by the keto-carnivore community.

Dear Enthusiast, I think you're the one who just suffered a heart attack. I'm sorry to hear that you've experienced this! That's awful. I'm glad you're here! I'll be praying for you. I'm so glad you're still here and I'm so glad it wasn't as bad as it could've been. I hope you're able to tune in to what your body needs. I'll be praying for your rest of spirit and body. From what I've seen you've chosen a very wise diet to help your heart if your sugars and carbs are really low. Please avoid seed oils too. I saw a study where heart failure was induced in three months with rats through seed oil consumption. You can come back from this!

True! In the book "Dark Calories" I read that a serving of seed oil laden french 🍟 fries is as carcinogenic as a pack of 🚬cigarettes.

I'd like to stop or reduce my statin if possible.
I think I was told I'd had a heart attack in the past, but it was so long ago, I don't recall the particulars.
I recently switched cardiologists and my new one kind of balked at my eating red meat. I asked him to switch me from Lipitor to Crestor and he prescribed 20 mg once a day. I'm thinking I might at least taper off to 10 mg a day, especially since the pills are scored for easy splitting.
I don't want to tell my doc that I'm doing it.
I heard that long term use of statins can contribute to dementia, and at 77 I prefer not to get that, especially living alone.

Edit: Actually, the Crestor isn't the scored pill and looks like it might be very tedious to break it in half since it's very small and round. The scored pill is actually the Toprol.

My mom just turned 80 in June, she has dementia and is the reason I denied taking statins and I don’t regret the decision, I do not want to live with dementia

Among many other side effects. None of which are worth the very minimal effects of the statin. The extra 2-5 days of life that a statin may give you is not worth any of the side effects.

Thanks Scott.

I'd like to be able to get rid of the metoprolol, anti-arrythmic, and blood thinner, too, but without a carnivore-friendly cardiologist's input, I hesitate doing it on my own.
I'd like to be taking all natural supplements if needed.
I know there are docs available on the internet, but I think I would need someone who can look at my full heart history.
I think getting off the statin might be the safest med to get rid of.

No experience in that area.

Do what you think is best for you and work to get better from there.

I don't know if it has to be one or the other but I would think if you went carnivore and started to heal, the medicine may drive you past the good place and get you to an even worse place.

That is how it plays out in my mind. I could be wrong.

Good luck with your decision.

Scott
