I’ve noticed several newcomers to this lifestyle tend to get confused about what they can eat or get bored with just eating the same old thing over and over and then there’s some that just don’t have much imagination around food and in the kitchen.

Well this is a thread for everyone to post what they eat each day.

It doesn’t matter if it’s something you eat day in and day out or if it’s something that’s unique but still in the spectrum of carnivore, post it up. It may help inspire someone to stick with their diet plan and reach their goals by introducing something new to their diet.

So, What did you eat today?

If I had made a five-gallon bucket it would have been a 'single serving' container.

Way too easy to overconsume.

Yes indeed. However I didn't gain any weight. I realized what I was going and intentionally skipped a meal.

Today I ate a burger patty, a bratwurst and a few grilled shrimp. I'll probably have some bacon and eggs in a few hours to fit it in my eating window. I need to tighten up that window time. It's been going over 6 hours lately. I like to keep it 6 or less every day.

Tonight is left over brisket from yesterday.

Both turned out pretty good. I used the old pig cooker and my son used the offset. On the pig cooker I set it up similar to a smoker with heat/smoke on one end, aluminum foil on the rack and the meat on the other end. The smoke/heat had to travel down the foil, under/around the meat and then back in the other direction. It worked pretty good as at times the smoke came out in a spiral. The flow was really good.

I wish I had not used any direct heat at all. We were experimenting and I think it would have been better without the direct heat but when we set up the taste test everyone picked the pig cooker version except for me as I liked the brisket from the off-set.

Either way, that is what my son wanted to do for his birthday, me and him cooking together from early in the morning til late in the afternoon.

Although both briskets turned out pretty good neither factored in it being a great day,

Scott

IMG_20250430_143601.jpgI've made a breakthrough!!! 🥳🥳🥳

I've found out that if I don't grind the meat and chop it into tiny pieces fried in tallow instead and then eat several very small portions of beef throughout the day, I don't get the nausea that has been putting me off meat! My stomach can't handle big portions it seems but small ones do the trick. I'm less light headed now. And it's really yummy. I don't make it like steak because this cut gets very tough and my attemps at medium rare fail. But this way I fry it for less than a minute and it doesn't take my teeth out.

Large portions of beef give me nausea as well. It affects my sleep if I eat too late. I am having to let go of my "fasting brain". Some of the fasting people refer to old WOE as diet brain. Now I am embracing the diet that feeds my brain!

I've proven to myself several times already that I feel the best brainwise during days two and three of a three day fast. It is from all the ketones flowing, I would guess. Overall energy shows increase also not not as strong as the brain energy. It's really a great feeling

I was part of a fasting community that promoted omad and alternate day fasting while eating anything you wanted during your eating window. They poopooed carnivore and extended fasting. I left there about a year ago. So I would fast all day and then get bingey at the end of the day. That wasn't really working for me. So since I have hopped back on the carnivore train I have decided to eat breakfast if I am hungry. Ideally, I'd like to eat in an early window of 9-3 but my husband is upset about me not eating dinner with the family. I would like to try a three day fast but DH has too many feelings about it and I'm not trying to cause trouble. I drive a large commercial vehicle and he thinks it not safe to drive while fasting that long.🙄

Only you will know how your system will respond to an extended fast. For my system fasting has been really powerful and enlightening as to how energetic and clear-headed I become. You may respond differently, so only you will know for sure. Dr Berry posted a video a while back of a guy who ran 5 marathons in 5 days supposedly in a fasted state! I believe it! Once I was adjusted to long fasts my hunger signals just disappears after around the 12 hour mark and then I just go until "it's time to eat again". Your body will let you know for sure. For me that time has been a short as 27 hours and as long as 96 hours. I do long bike rides in a fasted state.
