I get so frustrated, while I quietly listen to DH talk about his friends health problems. I'm sure you've all been there. Knowing how to help, but knowing also that no one wants to hear it. Just praying for ears to hear and eyes to see.

It does motivate me to persevere.

I get it. My innermost desire is to help people and most of what I like to do revolves around that in some way.

Someone can say "I'm depressed and have no purpose in life", and I have scriptures that encouraged me and principles I live by based on what they say that makes me happy and complete. Most people are like "Nah, not interested".

Someone can say "I'm stuck in poverty with no way forward", and I can offer them a job or to teach them some skills. They would either prefer to sit on the couch or quit after a short while.

Someone can say "I'm fat, sick, and have all these illnesses and conditions", and I can tell them about how a proper human diet has helped me. They would rather keep eating the junk.

A lot of people like to cry and complain. Very few are motivated to make changes until it's almost too late. I've got relatives and friends that say "That's just me" or "I can't change" or "That's the way God made me" and none of that is true. It's just the path of least resistance. You have to work for what you want.

Well said.

I have several guys at work with diabetes and several take the monthly shots for weight loss.

When they are discussing their issues I will add 'there are ways to help/correct your glucose issue with a change in diet'. I am looked at like I am a crazy person. Maybe even the worse part, two guys at work say the medicine is used so he can eat the way he wants. If the sugar goes up after the doughnuts and sweet tea it means he just takes another pill.

All we can do is offer to help.

I feel like the kid in the back of the class that has the answer today. Squirming back and forth in the chair, hand raised high, waving back and forth at the teacher, "I know the answer! I know the answer!".

I try daily but like everyone else my words fall on deaf ears.

I usually say look up keto and carnivore diet and do your research but feel free to ask me questions if you need anything.

Just plant the seed, be the success, and say no more. Actions after all, are much stronger than words. My wife is now on keto. She had no health reasons, is an endurance athlete, lean, and healthy, and just by seeing my healing journey she took it on as a preventive measure with focus on longevity and quality of life.
