Just putting this out there Flipp is a decent app that can show you local ads for groceries.

About this time of year ribeye and other meat have discounts.

Aldi Wednesday this week has ribeye bone in roast at $7.99/lb. Fresh Thyme has a NY strip roast<(I  think)for the same price.

I like Aldi but it's a bit out of the way for me.

We have one here in town but I’ve never been in it. I went to one once, years ago, and it was required that I rent the shopping cart for a quarter. Someone at the store told me I’d get my quarter back but I told them “You don’t understand, I don’t care about the quarter, it’s that I don’t carry any money on me.”
I haven’t been in one since.

Good point, I don't carry any change either. Maybe check the sofa? It's one of those places designed for impulse purchases. Big lots with groceries. They don't bag your stuff either, which I don't mind because sometimes the people bagging the groceries either don't care or they just need better training because they don't seem to understand that bananas don't do well under a 5lb roast.

Back in Europe, we've always had to carry a quarter when going shopping for groceries. I eventually learned how to use a plastic stirring stick to "trick" the lock. The not bagging of groceries is also a very normal thing. I like bagging my own because they would squash the bread under a milk carton. Not that I live that life anymore.
